WWE SmackDown Results: May 14, 2015By Cassidy| May 15, 2015 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results The SmackDown intro would not even finish playing before Bray Wyatt appears in his dark, foggy location. Bray says that Ryback stood toe-to-toe with “fate” on RAW and won, but he knows that behind Ryback’s “muscular façade”, there is an “Achilles heel” and he is going to prove that Ryback is trying to find a “garden of Eden that does not exist”. Wyatt continues, saying that, tonight, Ryback will try to “scratch an itch”, but Ryback’s wounds will “fester” and he will come forth to turn Ryback’s “dream” into a “nightmare”, telling Ryback to “run”. Three nights before he, along with Randy Orton and Roman Reigns, challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal 4-Way Match at Payback, SmackDown kicks off with “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose. Ambrose says that he “works alone” and it felt good to be the last man standing this past Monday night on RAW, saying that he has one thing that he wants to say to Roman Reigns before this Sunday. This brings out Ambrose’s friend and former Shield teammate Roman Reigns, who joins Ambrose in the ring. The two men get in each other’s face as Ambrose says that he’s not going to apologize with Roman saying that he doesn’t expect Ambrose to apologize. Reigns says that, tonight, there are “no grudges”, but come this Sunday, he’s bringing the “big guns” and he hopes that Ambrose does the same. Roman then extends his hand to “The Lunatic Fringe”, but Director of Operations Kane interrupts. Kane says that the two of them need to be “concerned” about the Fatal 4-Way Match at Payback and they need to be concerned about whether or not they will even make it to the pay-per-view. Ambrose responds by saying that Kane is the one who should be “concerned”, reminding the Director of Operations of Triple H’s decree from this past Monday night on RAW as the COO informed Kane that, if Seth Rollins does not walk out of Payback as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, then Kane will be fired. Kane says that he is not concerned and, when Payback is over, he will still be the Director of Operations. Kane then vows to deal with Roman Reigns in their match later on in the evening before informing Dean Ambrose that he will be in action right now as “The Lunatic Fringe” will go one-on-one with “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus. Per the orders of Director of Operations Kane, the opening match of the night would see “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose square off with “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus. During the match, Sheamus would be on the second rope with Dean Ambrose on his shoulder with evil intentions, but Ambrose would counter and Sheamus’ head would bounce off of the steel ring post with Ambrose rolling up Sheamus to pick up the win. Backstage, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins confronts Director of Operations Kane, bringing up apparent rumors that Kane does not plan on helping Seth Rollins in the Fatal 4-Way Match at Payback. Kane responds by telling the champion that he has saved his money over the years and he does not “need” a paycheck from The Authority. The champion then says that what Kane “needs” to do is the “right thing” and the Director of Operations says that he’s not sure what the right thing to do is and he likely won’t know until he’s ringside this Sunday. Kane then says that he has to get ready for his match against Roman Reigns, which amuses Seth Rollins. Kane then informs the champion that he will be in action tonight against Ryback, leaving Rollins in disbelief. Before he challenges John Cena for the United States Championship in an “I Quit” Match at Payback this Sunday, “The Super Athlete” Rusev would appear on SmackDown with a visibly unhappy Lana in tow. At the behest of Rusev, Lana reads a prepared statement, saying that she “begs for forgiveness” from not only the Russian people but from Rusev for her enjoyment with Fandango a couple of weeks ago on RAW, referring to Rusev as “America’s only champion”. Rusev then takes the microphone, dismissing Lana and ordering her to stand in the corner. Rusev says that, this past Monday night on RAW, John Cena showed why he is going to lose at Payback, saying that Cena “lacks focus”, reliving his assault on John Cena on RAW. Rusev continues, saying that Cena’s mind was saying “I Quit” and, this Sunday, everyone will hear Cena say the words “I Quit”. Rusev then repeatedly plays video of Cena saying “I Quit” with a smile on his face. Three nights before he defends the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, & Dean Ambrose in a Fatal 4-Way Match at Payback, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion was in action on SmackDown as Seth Rollins, with J&J Security in his corner, would go one-on-one with “The Big Guy” Ryback in a non-title match. However, before the match even begins, Bray Wyatt ambushes Ryback in the entrance way, knocking his Payback opponent to the floor. Bray then disappears and referees check on Ryback as Seth Rollins looks on from in the ring with a grin on his face. Despite being ambushed by Bray Wyatt moments earlier, Ryback would manage to get in the ring on his own, ordering the referee to start the match and the match gets underway. Despite the pre-match attack, Ryback was still able to give the champion a run for his money, but a timely distraction by J&J Security would allow Seth Rollins to rake the eyes of “The Big Guy”, following it up with a pair of straight kicks to the face, pinning Ryback for the win. Before The New Day defends the WWE Tag Team Titles against Cesaro & Tyson Kidd in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match this Sunday at Payback, The New Day’s Kofi Kingston, with Big E & Xavier Woods in his corner, would go one-on-one with Tyson Kidd, with Cesaro & Natalya in his corner. In the end, it was Tyson Kidd locking in the Sharpshooter on Kofi Kingston, making Kofi tap out to pick up the win. With a match against King Barrett coming up at Payback, “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville would go one-on-one with Bo Dallas on SmackDown with King Barrett a guest on commentary. In the end, it was Neville hitting the Red Arrow on Bo Dallas, pinning Dallas for the win. After the match, King Barrett gets on the announce table, saying that he does not have the time to deal with “peasants” like Neville, especially when they dress in such a “ridiculous costume”. Barrett then says that Neville is in need of some “corporal punishment” and he will be getting just that this Sunday at Payback. Then it was time for the main event as, before he joins Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose, and champion Seth Rollins in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Roman Reigns was set to go one-on-one with Director of Operations Kane in a match that must end by pinfall or submission. However, much like on RAW, the battle between Roman Reigns and Kane begins on the outside of the ring before the match can even begin. Kane would toss Roman around at ringside, throwing Reigns into the steel steps before the Director of Operations gets in the ring. Roman would then slowly enter the ring before the match officially begins, but it would not take long for the action to spill right back outside as Reigns narrowly misses getting his head squashed by the steel steps. Roman then takes advantage of the rules of the match, grabbing a kendo stick from under the ring and wearing Kane out with the weapon. Both Superstars then make their way back into the ring where Kane regains the advantage, repaying Reigns with several kendo stick shots of his own, following it up with a kendo stick-aided clothesline. Shortly after this, Kane and Roman Reigns would brawl on the outside before Kane exposes the announce table with the intent of putting Reigns through the table with a chokeslam. However, Roman counters and dives off of the table with a big clothesline to the Director of Operations, following this up with a running dropkick to the face of Kane. Reigns then grabs the steel steps, ramming the steel into the shoulder of Kane before Roman grabs two tables from underneath the ring. With destruction on his mind, Reigns slides both tables into the ring, propping one table up in the corner as Kane rolls back into the ring. Roman then tries to send Kane into the table, but Kane counters and plants Reigns with a DDT. Kane then sets up the other table in the ring, grabbing Roman by the throat, but Reigns again avoids disaster, battling back against the Director of Operations. However, when Roman goes for the Superman Punch, Kane catches Reigns by the throat, putting Roman through the table with a chokeslam, but Reigns is able to kick out! Kane would then go for the Tombstone Piledriver, but the resilient Roman Reigns would counter, scoring with the Superman Punch before putting Kane through the table in the corner with a vicious Spear, pinning Kane to pick up the win in a punishing match! Roman Reigns then exits the ring, celebrating his victory on the stage as WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is interviewed backstage. Seth Rollins says that Roman Reigns put on a “hell of a performance” against Kane, but it’s going to take a lot more than what Roman did to take the title from him. However, Dean Ambrose would crash the interview, trying to get a piece of Seth Rollins before this Sunday, but J&J Security would get involved and the security team would hold “The Lunatic Fringe” while the champion fires away at Ambrose. Roman Reigns then drives a cart onto the scene, rescuing Dean Ambrose from a three-on-one beatdown as Ambrose & Reigns take out J&J Security while Seth Rollins is able to escape. This leaves Ambrose and Reigns staring each other down as both Superstars glance down at the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt lying on the floor before Roman again extends his hand to Ambrose. However, “The Lunatic Fringe” does not shake Roman Reigns’ hand, opting to pick the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt up off of the floor and putting it on Roman’s shoulder, telling Roman not to worry because he will be taking the title this Sunday, leaving Roman Reigns alone to admire the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt.
