Big WWE News: Rusev suffers injury at SmackDown tapingsBy Cassidy| May 29, 2015 Wrestling News Anybody who watched this week’s episode of SmackDown would have noticed that, during his match with Ryback, Rusev would suffer some sort of injury to his ankle or lower leg. With “The Bulgarian Brute” clearly in serious pain and barely able to stand, the referee would abruptly end the match by disqualification and Rusev would do his best to get through the night, but it was clear something was wrong. WWE followed this up with a brief message on WWE.com, stating that Rusev is “being evaluated for a lower leg injury”. According to PWInsider.com, it’s highly unlikely that Rusev will be able to work this Sunday’s WWE Elimination Chamber event and, in addition, the former United States Champion has been removed from all WWE live events until August, being replaced by NXT Champion Kevin Owens over the next couple of months. With the extent of Rusev’s injury yet to be diagnosed or officially confirmed by WWE.com, there is only speculation at this point as to when “The Bulgarian Brute” will be able to return to in-ring competition.
