WWE SmackDown Results: April 9, 2015By Cassidy| April 10, 2015 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results Before he teams with Dolph Ziggler to face Sheamus and his Extreme Rules opponent Bad News Barrett in the main event, Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan kicks off SmackDown. Bryan says that winning the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania was one of the most memorable nights of his career, asking how he can make the championship mean even more. Bryan then says that he can do that by defending it against “anybody” who wants a shot at the title, saying that he did that the night after WrestleMania when he successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler. The champion continues, saying that Sheamus came out after that match looking “all stupid” and decided to kick both him and Dolph Ziggler in the face, rendering Ziggler unable to compete this past Monday night on RAW or last Thursday on SmackDown. Bryan then says that, last week, he “fought” Sheamus and during that match, he was knocked to the outside and when he stood up with blood on his face, he saw Bad News Barrett. Bryan is then interrupted by Bad News Barrett himself, who finishes Bryan’s story, telling the champion that he took him down with the Bull Hammer Elbow. Sheamus then comes out, standing next to Barrett and saying that he kicked Daniel Bryan in the face with the Brogue Kick last week, telling Bryan that he shouldn’t try to “pick on” someone who isn’t his size. Sheamus then suggests that he and Barrett come down there and lay a “European-style arse-kicking” on Daniel Bryan. Sheamus and Barrett then make their way towards the ring as Daniel Bryan prepares himself for a fight. Before Sheamus and Barrett can beat down the Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler comes down to the ring, saying that he is ready for a fight. However, before a fight could break out, the winner of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show comes out, admitting that he and Sheamus don’t always see eye-to-eye, but he is tired of these “pipsqueaks” whining and complaining all the time. Big Show then says that he has “eclipsed” Andre The Giant and he is the “greatest giant of all-time”, saying that Sheamus and Bad News Barrett are “sadly mistaken” if they think they are going to beat down Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler without him. This brings out Roman Reigns, who sets his sights on the man who cost him the #1 Contender’s spot for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship this past Monday night on RAW, Big Show. Roman makes a beeline for Big Show and a fight breaks out before Sheamus, Barrett, & Big Show quickly retreat, leaving Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, & Roman Reigns standing tall in the ring. The WWE Tag Team Champions were in action in the opening match of the night as Cesaro & Tyson Kidd, with Natalya in their corner, would square off with The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, in a non-title match. In the end, it was Cesaro hitting Kofi Kingston with the European uppercut from the outside, followed up by Tyson Kidd hitting Kofi with his fisherman’s neckbreaker, pinning Kofi to pick up the win for the WWE Tag Team Champions. After an impressive showing against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins on RAW, Neville would make his SmackDown debut as “The Man That Gravity Forgot” would go one-on-one with Curtis Axel. In the end, it was another impressive performance by Neville as the high-flyer hits the Red Arrow on Curtis Axel, pinning Axel for the win. Before they compete in a Divas Battle Royal to determine a new #1 Contender for the Divas Title on RAW, SmackDown would see Natalya face Alicia Fox with Cameron assigned as the Special Referee. In the end, it was Natalya locking in the Sharpshooter on Alicia Fox, making Alicia tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Cameron would raise the hand of Natalya before turning Natalya around and planting her with a DDT. Cameron then picks Alicia Fox up and spikes Alicia with a DDT as well. For the first time since his loss to The Undertaker at WrestleMania, Bray Wyatt was in action on SmackDown as the self-proclaimed “New Face of Fear” went one-on-one with his former follower, Erick Rowan. In the end, it was Bray Wyatt putting Erick Rowan down with Sister Abigail, pinning Rowan for the win. The Miz would then present a special edition of Miz TV as the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” would show the trailer for the DVD & Blu-Ray release of his newest film, The Marine 4. After showing the trailer, The Miz is interrupted by The Miz’s co-star in the movie, Summer Rae, reminding Miz that she was also in the movie. The Miz tells Summer Rae that she should be “privileged” to have been in his movie, saying that he gave Summer Rae a “chance”. The Miz then tells Summer Rae to sit down and only speak when he tells her to. Summer says that she will speak when she wants to speak, telling Miz that he is the “co-star”, but Miz argues that he is the “star” and Summer Rae is a “featured extra”, saying that he made Summer into a star just like he made Damien Mizdow into a star. Summer fires back, saying that Mizdow “upstaged” The Miz at WrestleMania and The Miz says that he blames the fans for making Mizdow believe that he is something that he’s not, saying that he gave Mizdow a “chance”. Damien Mizdow then interrupts Miz TV, making his way to the ring as The Miz says that he can get Mizdow’s career back “on track” and he can forgive Mizdow for what has happened over the last couple of weeks. The Miz then asks Mizdow for an apology, telling Mizdow to shake his hand and apologize and Mizdow would comply, but Mizdow would apologize for not doing this sooner. The former personal assistant then attacks The Miz, sending Miz into retreat before planting a kiss on Summer Rae and leaving the ring like a star. Then it was time for the main event as, after a confrontation earlier in the night, Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan would join forces with “The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler and Roman Reigns to face the team of “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus, Bad News Barrett, & “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show in a 6-Man Tag Match. At the end of a chaotic match, it came down to Roman Reigns and Bad News Barrett as Roman would blast Barrett with the Spear, pinning Barrett to pick up the win for his team. After the match, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, & Roman Reigns would stand tall in the ring. What did you think of this week’s SmackDown? Post your comments in the box below.
