WWE RAW Results: April 20, 2015By Cassidy| April 22, 2015 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results Before he faces Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Steel Cage Match where his RKO will be banned at Extreme Rules, RAW kicks off with “The Viper” Randy Orton, who steps inside the steel cage that surrounds the ring. Orton says that, for a guy who prides himself on being the “smartest guy in the room”, Seth Rollins sure behaves like a “dumb bastard”. Orton explains that, last week, Seth Rollins’ stipulation for the title match at Extreme Rules was that Orton’s RKO will be banned. Orton then says that Rollins thinks that the RKO is his “greatest weapon”, but it is not because his greatest weapon is his “ability to inflict unspeakable pain” on anyone he thinks deserves it. Orton continues, saying that he doesn’t need the RKO to win and Rollins gave him no choice but to make the match “slow and agonizing” for the champion, saying that he is going to break Rollins’ jaw, break a rib or two, send Rollins into the walls of the steel cage repeatedly, and once the beating ends, so will Rollins’ reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Naturally, this brings out WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, with J&J Security by his side, who says that Orton has an “anger problem”. Orton says that it’s no secret that he’s got anger problems, but right now, he’s got a “Seth Rollins problem” and, at Extreme Rules, he is going to do everything in his power to make sure that the “problem” goes away. The champion responds by saying that he plays this game of “human chess” better than anyone and that is why he is on the track to being the greatest champion ever. Rollins continues, saying that he is the “best” at everything that comes with being a WWE Superstar and he’s got the title to prove it. Rollins then says that, for as good as Orton is, he is that much “better”, saying that Orton can make all of the threats that he wants, but come Extreme Rules, Orton will not be walking out as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and that is a “promise”, telling Orton to get it out of his system before Extreme Rules. Randy Orton then ponders the advice of the champion, saying that he is going to go in the back and RKO every person he sees and, before the end of the night, he is going to RKO Seth Rollins, saying that’s a “promise”! After being put through the announce table by Luke Harper a few weeks ago on SmackDown, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would go one-on-one with Luke Harper in the opening match of the night. It would not take long for the two unhinged Superstars to take the fight to the outside as Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper brawl at ringside and through the crowd before returning to ringside. With the match ending in a no contest, the unsanctioned brawl would make its way to the stage where Harper would send Ambrose head-first into the LED board before Harper would try to powerbomb Ambrose off of the stage. However, “The Lunatic Fringe” would wiggle free and would try to catch Harper with Dirty Deeds, but Harper would counter, tossing Ambrose off of the stage. Harper then retreats to the back as Ambrose climbs back on the stage, narrowly missing his shot at revenge. Backstage, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and J&J Security are closely watching their backs for Randy Orton and, after being scared by The Prime Time Players, the champion would confront a snickering stagehand. The brazen champion then suggests that he is going to “wipe the floor” with the next guy he sees before Seth Rollins runs into WWE COO Triple H. Triple H says that it looks like Rollins is expecting an RKO around every corner, but the champion claims that he is not “scared” of Randy Orton, saying that he will “handle” Orton. Rollins then asks about the situation with Kane and Triple H says that Kane needs to “cool off” for a little bit, but he’s been busy lately. The COO then says that, when Kane gets there, they will have a talk with the Director of Operations. The champion then addresses the Randy Orton situation, asking Triple H for “more security”. However, Triple H tells Rollins that it’s just “one guy” before walking off, leaving a visibly worried and frustrated Seth Rollins. New #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles would then be determined on RAW as The Lucha Dragons would face The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, with the winner challenging Cesaro & Tyson Kidd for the WWE Tag Team Titles at Extreme Rules. During a hard-fought match between the two teams, The Lucha Dragons would do a double moonsault to the outside, taking out Big E & Kofi Kingston, but with both Sin Cara and Kofi Kingston trying to beat the referee’s ten-count, both men would have made it back into the ring had it not been for Xavier Woods, who hid under the ring and held Sin Cara’s ankles. This would prevent Sin Cara from beating the ten-count as The New Day wins the match by count-out, becoming the new #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles! There would be no time for celebration, however, as Randy Orton would come out to the ring, tossing Big E out of the ring before hitting Xavier Woods with the RKO, following it up with an RKO to Kofi Kingston! “The Viper” then dares Big E to come into the ring, but the big man backs off. After embracing his original “Fandangoing” persona last week, the newly liberated Fandango would go one-on-one with Curtis Axel on RAW. In the end, it was Fandango hitting the Last Dance on Curtis Axel, pinning Axel for the win. After the match, Fandango would lead the Albany crowd in “Fandangoing”. For the first time since WrestleMania, WWE COO Triple H would appear live, in the ring, on RAW with the promise of a big announcement regarding the revamped WWE Tough Enough that will return this Summer. Triple H says that, about a year ago, The Authority found a competitor who can “lead WWE into the next-generation” and who can be the “face of WWE” for the next ten years and, after WrestleMania, they all have to agree that Seth Rollins is that man. Triple H continues, saying that it’s time to find the “next Seth Rollins” and they will begin that hunt starting June 23, live on the USA Network, with the return of WWE Tough Enough. Triple H explains that Tough Enough is the reality show that allows anyone to possibly achieve their dream of being a WWE Superstar or Diva, saying that every WWE fan has imagined what it’s like to be a WWE Superstar. Triple H continues, asking what it would be like to feel the “fame” and “glory” of getting to compete at WrestleMania before saying that being a WWE Superstar is “better than any dream” that they could ever have. Triple H then says that they have the opportunity to turn their “dream” into a “reality” and it starts tonight, urging the fans and viewers at home to send their video submissions in and maybe they will become one of the ten men or one of the five women who will be selected to compete in Tough Enough and, at the end of the season, the decision-makers in WWE, as well as the WWE fans, will decide which one man and one woman will be the winners of Tough Enough, which earns that man and woman contracts that will officially make them WWE Superstars! Triple H then asks the fans if they have what it takes, saying that, if they do, then they need to show the world that they are “tough enough”. The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane would then make his way to the ring to confront WWE COO Triple H and, after Triple H tries to joke with Kane about being too “seasoned” to participate in Tough Enough, Kane was clearly in no mood for jokes. The Director of Operations says that he has tried contacting Triple H for the past week with the COO saying that he was letting Kane “cool off”. Kane then continues, saying that it has been an “honor” serving as the Director of Operations for The Authority, but he cannot handle the “constant disrespect” from the man he helped win Money-in-the-Bank, which ultimately helped him become the champion, Seth Rollins. Kane then says that, since it’s clear that Triple H has put his “faith” into a man who is not worth Triple H’s “investment”, his decision is “obvious”, revealing that he is giving The Authority his “two weeks’ notice”! Triple H implores Kane not to make such a hasty decision, suggesting that they go to the back and talk things out and work things out like “adults”. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins then storms to the ring with J&J Security not far behind, saying that if Kane wants to quit, then Triple H should let him quit because they don’t need a “loser” like Kane in The Authority anyways. Kane then gets in the face of the champion, saying that he doesn’t recall Seth Rollins having the gall to call him a “loser” last week when he had his hand around Rollins’ throat. Triple H would try and diffuse the situation, but Seth Rollins would continue, saying that Kane then let Seth Rollins pin him last week because it was Kane’s “job” to “lose”, saying that Kane became a “coward” and did what he was told because that’s what Kane always does. Clearly about to lose it, Kane calls Seth Rollins a “spoiled punk” who has been “given everything”, screaming at Rollins that the only reason that he’s the champion is because The Authority made him champion. Kane continues, saying that nothing would be different if they would have chosen someone like Dean Ambrose, saying that, if they wanted to, they could have made El Torito the champion! This leads to a shouting match between Kane and Seth Rollins before Triple H is finally able to call order to things, getting in Seth Rollins’ face and saying that is not how they do business. The COO then says that Kane did what was “right” last week and he did what was “best for business”, which is what Kane always does. Triple H continues, saying that there is no one more “loyal” to The Authority than Kane and that is why, in the Steel Cage Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title between Seth Rollins and Randy Orton at Extreme Rules, he is making Kane the “guardian of the gate”. Triple H then explains that, at Extreme Rules, anyone who wants to get in or out of the steel cage will have to go through Kane. Kane then thanks Triple H and shakes his boss’ hand before Seth Rollins voices his disapproval, saying that Triple H is making Kane the gatekeeper for “no reason at all”. Triple H then suggests that Rollins and Kane get on the “same page” and do it soon with Kane extending his hand to the champion. Rollins reluctantly shakes the hand of Kane before storming out of the ring, clearly unhappy with this new development. Backstage, an argument had already erupted between Seth Rollins and Kane and, again, it’s Triple H who has to step in. Triple H says that he has known Kane for twenty years and, while Kane is one of the toughest guys he has ever met in his life, Kane is a “corporate guy” now, saying that Kane is “no longer hellfire and brimstone”. Kane argues that he is still hellfire and brimstone and he is going to “prove it”, storming away from his boss. Triple H then tries to set Seth Rollins straight, saying that it took a lot of people to make Seth Rollins the champion, saying that holding the title belt does not make Rollins the “man”. Triple H continues, saying that going out to the ring every night and proving himself is what makes him the “man”. Ignoring Seth Rollins’ concern over being the victim of an RKO by Randy Orton, Triple H informs the champion that he is going to have a match tonight against the man he was supposed to face last week, Dolph Ziggler, telling Rollins to go out there and start showing the world what he already knows. The champion says that he is not only going to face Dolph Ziggler tonight, he is going to “destroy” Ziggler and, at the end of the night, everyone is going to know what he is “all about”, saying that he is no longer the “future”, he is the “man”. After viciously attacking new #1 Contender Paige last week and putting Paige out of action indefinitely, Naomi would go one-on-one with Brie Bella, with Divas Champion Nikki Bella a guest on commentary, on RAW. In the end, it was Naomi hitting the Rear View on Brie Bella, pinning Brie to pick up the win. Backstage, Heath Slater is enjoying a salad next to Erick Rowan at catering, discussing how he is going to answer John Cena’s U.S. Open Challenge tonight and become the new United States Champion. After Erick Rowan leaves, Heath Slater turns around to see Randy Orton, who delivers an RKO to Slater through the catering table! Randy Orton then snacks on a tortilla chip, counting his third RKO of the night. Before he faces Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match at Extreme Rules and one week after he was chokeslammed on the roof of a London taxi cab by Big Show, Roman Reigns would address Big Show and his upcoming match. Roman Reigns would make his way to the ring before saying that he is not in the mood to talk, he is in the mood for a fight, telling Big Show to get out there. However, who Roman Reigns gets is not “The World’s Largest Athlete”, instead he gets the returning Bo Dallas, who says that “anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering”. Dallas then says that Roman Reigns is kind of a “bust”, calling Reigns the “Tim Tebow of WWE” and saying that Roman “fails” every time he steps into the ring. Getting in the ring, Bo then says that all his dreams will come true, all he has to do is “bo-lieve”, but Roman was in no mood for Bo Dallas or his speeches as Reigns catches Bo Dallas with the Superman Punch, following it up with the Spear! Reigns then picks up a microphone and says that, if Big Show had any guts, he would be out there right now, but at Extreme Rules, Big Show will have no choice but to face him. Roman then vows to be the “last man standing” this Sunday, mocking Bo Dallas and saying that Big Show can “bo-lieve that”. With the unusual Kiss Me Arse Match against Dolph Ziggler coming up at Extreme Rules, Sheamus was in action on RAW as “The Celtic Warrior” would face Zack Ryder. As soon as the bell rings, Sheamus hits Zack Ryder with the Brogue Kick and, with microphone in hand, Sheamus says that Ryder “deserves more” than a five-second match. With the match still going on, Sheamus would methodically beat Ryder down in the corner, continuing to berate Ryder, as well as the fans. Sheamus then tosses Ryder out of the ring, saying that the only ones who look “stupid” are the fans and Zack Ryder. Sheamus then blasts Ryder with another Brogue Kick on the outside before rolling Ryder back into the ring as Sheamus continues to badger the crowd, getting ready to deliver a third Brogue Kick to Ryder. Luckily for Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler would make the save, ducking the Brogue Kick from Sheamus and hitting “The Celtic Warrior” with the Zig Zag! Ziggler then checks on Zack Ryder before daring Sheamus to come back and fight him. Before he defends the United States Championship against Rusev in the first ever televised Russian Chain Match at Extreme Rules, United States Champion John Cena would be on RAW for his U.S. Open Challenge. After vowing to beat the “dog crap” out of Rusev and prove that his win at WrestleMania was a “statement”, John Cena would say the United States Championship is a “symbol of opportunity”. Cena then says that he is not in a “losing mood” before declaring that the U.S. Open Challenge starts now, asking for his challenger. The man who answers the challenge is a man who vowed to Triple H that he is still made of “hellfire and brimstone” as, in Cena’s toughest U.S. Open Challenge opponent to date, Cena would defend the United States Championship against Kane! Kane would dominate most of the match, even hitting the chokeslam on John Cena, but the champion would kick out. Kane would then look for the Tombstone Piledriver, but Cena would counter, hitting the Attitude Adjustment on Kane, pinning Kane to successfully retain the United States Championship. Backstage, United States Champion John Cena is being interviewed by Byron Saxton when, out of nowhere, Rusev blasts Cena in the back of the head with a steel chain! Rusev then wraps the chain around the face of Cena in an extreme and sickening version of the Accolade submission hold. Then it was time for a match with one of the most unusual stipulations in the history of RAW as the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” The Miz would go one-on-one with his former stunt double Damien Mizdow, with Summer Rae in his corner, with the winner earning the rights to the entire brand of The Miz! In the end, it was Summer Rae double-crossing Damien Mizdow, raking Mizdow’s eyes, that would allow The Miz to take advantage as Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale, pinning Mizdow for the win and retaining the exclusive rights to The Miz brand. After the match, Summer Rae would celebrate with The Miz, but before The Miz could declare that he is “awesome”, Randy Orton hits the ring and plants The Miz with the RKO! Bray Wyatt then makes an appearance among the darkness, again addressing an unknown WWE Superstar, saying that they can “lift all of the weights in the world”, but there is nothing they can do to lift the weight of their “personal failures”. Bray continues, saying that “weight” will “blind” them and all they will see is Bray’s face looking down at him and they will realize that all of their “hard work” was for “nothing” and it all “fades away” and so will he, telling this person to “behold the new face of fear”. Ryback was in action on RAW as “The Big Guy” would go one-on-one with Adam Rose, with The Exotic Express in his corner. In the end, it was another dominant victory for “The Big Guy” as Ryback hits Shell Shocked, pinning Adam Rose for the win. After the match, two members of The Exotic Express, one dressed as a banana and the other dressed as a hot dog, would inexplicably try to ambush Ryback. However, the Rosebuds would pay the price as, after they both received the Meat Hook Clothesline, Ryback would lift both food-clad individuals, planting both men with Shell Shocked as Rosa Mendes comes in to check on Adam Rose. After learning of some disparaging remarks Seth Rollins made about him on social media, Kane storms into The Authority’s office, demanding that Seth Rollins insult him to his face. However, instead of insulting Kane, the champion apologizes, saying that the Randy Orton situation has got him on edge. Rollins continues, saying that he knows that Kane helped him win the Money-in-the-Bank contract, but it’s “embarrassing” for him when Kane keeps mentioning it, saying that he appreciates Kane’s efforts to help him stay on top in WWE. Rollins then says that he is going to dedicate his match tonight to Kane before Seth Rollins and J&J Security leave the office and head down the hallway as a smiling Randy Orton appears, keeping a close eye on his Extreme Rules opponent. Then it was time for the main event as, six nights before he defends the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton in a Steel Cage Match where the RKO will be banned and Kane will serve as the gatekeeper, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, with J&J Security in his corner, would go one-on-one with “The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match. During the back-and-forth match, Sheamus would come out, getting on the ring apron to distract Dolph Ziggler, allowing Seth Rollins to take advantage as the champion would hit his turnbuckle powerbomb, following it up with a modified DDT, pinning Ziggler for the win. After the match, Seth Rollins says that he just proved that he is the “man”, but the champion is then interrupted by the arrival of WWE COO Triple H, who makes his way to the ring. Triple H touts Rollins as the man who will beat Randy Orton this Sunday at Extreme Rules, but the brazen champion then takes the microphone away from the COO, telling Triple H to let him finish his thought. Rollins then says that he just dismantled Dolph Ziggler and, this Sunday, he is going to prove that WWE belongs to him and prove that he is the “man” when he pins Randy Orton at Extreme Rules. The champion continues, saying that he is going to render Kane as the gatekeeper “useless”, but before Seth Rollins can continue, an angry Kane comes out. Triple H and J&J Security exit the ring, meeting Kane on the ramp to try and calm the big man down as, in the ring, Seth Rollins is ordering that the steel cage be lowered around the ring to protect himself from Kane. Kane would try to get in the ring before the cage lowers all the way, but Triple H and J&J Security would keep Kane at bay as the cage finishes lowering. However, when Seth Rollins turns around, he discovers that, while he was concerned with Kane, he needed to be concerned about “The Viper” as the champion comes face-to-face with Randy Orton! Upon seeing Orton, Rollins would frantically try to escape the confines of the cage, but “The Viper” would pull the champion off of the cage wall, catching Rollins in mid-air with a spectacular RKO! Randy Orton then stands tall with the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt before draping it over Seth Rollins as “The Viper” reigns supreme inside the steel in what could be a sign of things to come at Extreme Rules.
