WWE SmackDown Results: February 19, 2015By Cassidy| February 21, 2015 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results Three nights before he faces Roman Reigns with a main event title shot against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania on the line at Fastlane, SmackDown would kick off with Daniel Bryan in action as Bryan would go one-on-one with an old rival in The Miz, with his personal assistant, Damien Mizdow, in his corner. Before the match begins, Damien Mizdow would get on the ring apron, attempting to mimic The Miz and soak up the cheers from the crowd, but The Miz would scold Mizdow, telling Mizdow to do his job as personal assistant. The Miz then sends Mizdow to the back to find an “Egyptian cotton towel” for Miz to use after his match, threatening to fire Mizdow if he doesn’t hurry up before the match finally gets underway. In an impressive matchup, it was Daniel Bryan countering The Miz’s Figure-Four Leg Lock into the Yes Lock, making Miz tap out to pick up the win. Two heavy-hitters would collide on SmackDown as “The Big Guy” Ryback would go one-on-one with The Authority’s corporate demon Kane. In the end, it was Ryback hoisting Kane up, planting Kane with Shell Shocked and pinning Kane for the win. After he was tied to the ring post and forced to sign a contract to defend his Intercontinental Title against Dean Ambrose at Fastlane, the Intercontinental Champion was in action on SmackDown as Bad News Barrett would face R-Truth in a non-title match with Dean Ambrose a guest on commentary. Throughout the match, Bad News Barrett would try to taunt Dean Ambrose to get in Ambrose’s head, but when Ambrose turns his back on Barrett, the Intercontinental Champion is infuriated and R-Truth would take advantage, surprising Barrett with a roll-up to pick up the win. The New Day was in action on SmackDown as Xavier Woods & Big E, with Kofi Kingston in their corner, would face The Ascension. In the end, it was The Ascension hitting the Fall of Man on Big E as Konnor pins Big E for the win. After his Fastlane opponent, Daniel Bryan, picked up an impressive victory earlier in the night, Roman Reigns would look to outdo his rival as the winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble Match would go one-on-one with Luke Harper. In the end, it was Roman Reigns catching Luke Harper with the Spear, pinning Harper for the win. Before their scheduled match could even begin, Big Show would attack Erick Rowan as “The World’s Largest Athlete” would knock Rowan off of the ring apron with a big kick before tossing Rowan into the steel steps. Big Show then picks Rowan up, sending him shoulder-first into the steel ring post and bringing Rowan into the ring. The referee then checks on Erick Rowan, who insists that the referee start the match and the referee complies as the match officially gets underway. However, Erick Rowan would not stand a chance in his weakened state and Big Show plants Rowan with a chokeslam, pinning Rowan for the win. Before she challenges Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship at Fastlane, Paige would go one-on-one with Cameron on SmackDown with Divas Champion Nikki Bella and her sister, Brie, guests on commentary. In the end, it was Paige locking in the PTO on Cameron, making Cameron tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Paige would dare Nikki Bella to come into the ring, but Brie would hold her sister back, saving the fight for Sunday. After being attacked by his own brother, Stardust, on RAW, Goldust would comment on the situation in a backstage interview on SmackDown. Goldust says that, at first, he tried to “embrace” Stardust and they “rekindled” their brotherhood. Goldust continues, saying that he saw the “darkness” beginning to creep in because he has been there himself and his younger brother “slipped” away from him. Goldust then says that Stardust is more than just a persona, it is a “cancer” that is eating Cody Rhodes “alive”! Goldust says that he wants his brother back and, at Fastlane, he is going to have to do one of the most difficult things in his life when he goes one-on-one with his brother and beat Stardust. Appearing from an unknown location, Stardust addresses his brother, Goldust, saying that all of the “gold” in Fort Knox grows “dull”, but Stardust does not. Stardust then says that, after this Sunday, Cody Rhodes will not be the only one who “ceases to exist” as the universe “forgets the name Goldust”. With a tag team title defense against Cesaro & Tyson Kidd awaiting them at Fastlane, the WWE Tag Team Champions would be on SmackDown as Jimmy Uso, with Jey Uso and Naomi in his corner, would go one-on-one with Tyson Kidd, with Cesaro and Natalya in his corner. However, the match would be unexpectedly crashed by Rusev as the United States Champion runs down to ringside, blasting Jey Uso with a big side kick. Rusev would then enter the ring, taking Jimmy Uso out with a big heel kick and even catch Tyson Kidd with a kick to the mid-section. Rusev would then begin to beat down Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso would come to the rescue, only to get taken down by the United States Champion. Much like what happened to him at the hands of John Cena on RAW, Rusev would repeatedly hammer a helpless Jey Uso with right hands. The enraged Rusev then slides to the outside, grabbing a microphone and laying into John Cena in Russian, making a major statement for his match against John Cena. Then it was time for the main event as, after their match on RAW was ruined by J&J Security, “The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler would go one-on-one with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins in a rematch on SmackDown and, this time, J&J Security would be barred from ringside! During the match, The Authority’s Kane & Big Show would come out to ringside to stand in the corner of Seth Rollins, but to make sure things remained fair, Ryback & Erick Rowan would come out as well to stand in the corner of Dolph Ziggler. Later on in the match, Seth Rollins would find himself on the wrong side of the ring as he was out among Ryback & Erick Rowan and Rollins would make the brazen move of shoving Rowan and slapping Ryback! However, Dolph Ziggler would jump on Seth Rollins and the match would resume in the ring before Kane would get on the ring apron and Ziggler would knock Kane down. The distraction would still manage to pay off as Seth Rollins would capitalize, hitting the Curb Stomp on Dolph Ziggler, pinning Dolph for the win. After the match, J&J Security would reunite with Seth Rollins, Kane, & Big Show outside the ring and, with Dolph Ziggler out of commission, the five men would surround Ryback & Erick Rowan. Ryback & Rowan would try to take the fight to the five men, but a big boot from Kane on the outside of the ring would stop Ryback, followed up by Kane tossing Ryback into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Erick Rowan would manage to fight off both members of J&J Security, but Kane & Big Show would come in, grabbing Rowan and delivering a huge double chokeslam. Seth Rollins then puts the finishing touches on Erick Rowan, delivering the Curb Stomp to Rowan. The Authority then started the celebration, but Ryback would crash it as “The Big Guy” comes back into the ring, taking out J&J Security before planting Kane with a spinebuster. Ryback then tosses Rollins out of the ring before leveling Big Show with the Meat Hook Clothesline, but before Ryback could finish Big Show, Kane and J&J Security would swarm Ryback. With Kane and J&J Security holding Ryback in place, Big Show would blast Ryback with the Knockout Punch and, with Ryback defenseless, Big Show would hold Ryback in place for Seth Rollins to hit the Curb Stomp on Ryback. The Authority then stands tall in the ring, proud of their decimation of Dolph Ziggler, Ryback, & Erick Rowan. What did you think of this week’s SmackDown? Post your comments in the box below.
