WWE SmackDown Results: January 9, 2015By Cassidy| January 10, 2015 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results The final Friday Night SmackDown before the move to Thursday nights kicks off with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins, with J&J Security by his side, who is all smiles following the events of RAW. Rollins says that he “manipulated” John Cena into bringing back The Authority, saying that John Cena has to have a lot on his mind right now because he not only brought back The Authority, but doing so resulted in Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler getting fired from WWE. Rollins then says that they all owe John Cena a “debt of gratitude” because, not only is The Authority back, but he is in the main event at the Royal Rumble where he will join John Cena and champion Brock Lesnar in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins continues, saying that The Authority’s actions are “justified” before asking for ten seconds of silence in memory of the “lackluster careers” of Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler. “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” and J&J Security then bow their heads as the bell is rung, but the insulting proceedings are interrupted by Roman Reigns, who makes his way to the ring. Roman says that Seth Rollins is a “suck-up” and that Rollins has “donkey dung for brains”, but when Rollins wants Reigns to get to the point, Roman does just that with a right hand to “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank”. Roman then attacks J&J Security, sending both men packing for lacing into Rollins with more right hands, knocking Rollins out of the ring and forcing Rollins to retreat to the stage. However, things take an interesting turn once Big Show joins Rollins on the stage before Kane comes out as well, informing Roman Reigns that Roman will face Seth Rollins & Big Show later tonight in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match unless Roman can find a tag team partner. Kane then adds that anyone who decides to team with Roman tonight will gain the “disfavor” of The Authority. Big Show then addresses Roman Reigns, saying that he raised the “ire” of a giant and, now, Roman Reigns is “screwed”. With his new associates, Cesaro & Tyson Kidd, in his corner, Adam Rose would go one-on-one with The New Day’s Big E, with Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston in his corner, in a rematch from RAW. In the end, it was Big E hitting the Big Ending on Adam Rose, pinning Rose for the win. Before they competed on SmackDown, The Ascension would speak as Viktor says that there have many dominant tag teams throughout WWE history like The Road Warriors. Konnor says that Hawk & Animal couldn’t even carry their shoulder pads and, when referring to The Powers of Pain, Konnor says that their “power” would cause them “pain”. After their bold comments, The Ascension would face two nameless competitors in tag team action. In the end, it was another easy win for The Ascension as Konnor & Viktor hit the Fall of Man before Konnor pins one of the competitors for the win. The Divas were in action on SmackDown as Naomi would go one-on-one with Alicia Fox. In the end, it was Alicia Fox rolling up Naomi and putting her feet on the ropes to steal the victory. After defeating Dean Ambrose in an Ambulance Match on RAW, Bray Wyatt makes an appearance on SmackDown. Wyatt says that Ambrose is just like that the rest of them and Ambrose learned that he could not “outrun fate” and, as the ambulance door shut, their “journey” came to an end. Bray then says that he now has a “new destination”, saying that he will take part in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, vowing that 29 other men will “fall”. Then it was time for the WWE Tag Team Titles to be put on the line as The Usos would defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against both The Miz & Damien Mizdow and Gold & Stardust in a Triple Threat Tag Match, where the first member of a team to score a pinfall or submission will win the match for their team and that team will walk out as the WWE Tag Team Champions. At the end of a wild title match, it was Jimmy Uso hitting the Superfly Splash on Goldust, pinning Goldust to pick up the win and successfully retain the WWE Tag Team Titles for himself and his brother. After The Authority’s quest for payback yielded great results for him on RAW and after announcing his entry into the 2015 Royal Rumble Match, the brand new Intercontinental Champion would be in action on SmackDown as Bad News Barrett would go one-on-one with Sin Cara in a non-title match. In the end, it was a major upset for Sin Cara as the masked high-flyer hits the senton off of the top rope, pinning the new Intercontinental Champion for the win. After the match, Bad News Barrett would ambush Sin Cara on the outside before tossing Sin Cara back into the ring and leveling the high-flyer with the Bull Hammer Elbow. With the decree by Kane that he must either find a tag team partner or compete in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match, Roman Reigns would face “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins and “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, with Kane and J&J Security in their corner, but just when it looked as though Roman would have to go it alone against Rollins & Big Show, an old friend lends a hand as none other than Dean Ambrose comes out to be Roman’s tag team partner! Before the match even begins, Dean Ambrose hits the ring and, together, Reigns & Ambrose take it to Rollins & Big Show, sending both men to the outside before order is restored and the match officially gets underway. During the match, Kane would get on the ring apron and Roman Reigns would respond by tossing Seth Rollins into Kane before blasting Rollins with the Superman Punch, a fate which J&J Security faced seconds later. Looking to take advantage, Big Show plants Roman Reigns with the chokeslam before Dean Ambrose takes Big Show down with a dropkick. “The Lunatic Fringe” then climbs to the top rope, diving to the outside and taking out Big Show, Kane, and J&J Security! Meanwhile, in the ring, Seth Rollins goes for the Curb Stomp on Roman Reigns, but Roman dodges the move before blasting Rollins with the Spear, pinning “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” to pick up the win for himself and Dean Ambrose, ending the final Friday Night SmackDown having thwarted The Authority.
