WWE SmackDown Results: January 15, 2015By Cassidy| January 16, 2015 WWE SmackDown Must-Win Situation. After ten years of being Friday night’s hottest show, SmackDown would return to Thursday nights as the 804th edition of WWE SmackDown came to you from the Baton Rouge River Center in Baton Rouge, LA. On the Thursday return of SmackDown, one Superstar would make his return to in-ring competition after nearly a year on the shelf as former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan will compete on SmackDown against a familiar and diabolical rival as Bryan goes one-on-one with Kane! Having not competed since last April, how will Daniel Bryan fare against the unforgiving demon known as Kane? Will Daniel Bryan show any ring rust and will Daniel Bryan’s body be able to hold up? After Seth Rollins made a major statement on RAW by delivering the Curb Stomp to both John Cena and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, solidifying himself as a viable threat in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at the Royal Rumble, SmackDown would see an appearance by Brock Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman. What will Heyman have to say about Seth Rollins’ actions on RAW? Also, after Sin Cara picked up a major upset last week by pinning Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett in a non-title match, the masked high-flyer would get the opportunity to do it one more time on SmackDown as Sin Cara would challenge Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship! Can Sin Cara pull off another improbable victory and secure the Intercontinental Championship or will Bad News Barrett show that Sin Cara’s win last week was a fluke? Match Results Daniel Bryan def. Kane (with Triple H, Big Show, Seth Rollins, and J&J Security) by DQ after J&J Security interfere. 6-Person Mixed Tag Match: The Miz, Damien Mizdow, & Alicia Fox def. The Usos & Naomi by The Miz pinning Jimmy Uso following the Skull Crushing Finale. Non-Title: Natalya (with Paige) def. Nikki Bella (with Brie Bella) by submission to the Sharpshooter. Intercontinental Championship: Bad News Barrett (c) def. Sin Cara by pin following the Bull Hammer Elbow. 6-Man Tag: Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, & Roman Reigns def.
