WWE RAW Results: January 19, 2015By Cassidy| January 24, 2015 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After both he and John Cena were the victim of a Curb Stomp by Seth Rollins at the end of last week’s RAW, the show kicks off with an angry beast as WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar makes his way to the ring with his advocate, Paul Heyman, in tow. With the champion pacing around the ring like a caged animal, Paul Heyman begins to introduce himself before Brock Lesnar takes the microphone away. Lesnar doesn’t waste any time, saying that he is ready for a fight before telling Seth Rollins to get out there. Despite Heyman’s protests, Brock Lesnar says that, when he shows up, it’s “business time” before telling Rollins that he is giving him ten seconds to get out there. When Rollins doesn’t show, the champion says that, when he shows up, Rollins is nowhere to be found. “The Beast” then finally gets a response, but it was not from Seth Rollins as WWE COO Triple H makes his way to the ring. Triple H says that he understands why Brock Lesnar is “upset”, saying Rollins “embarrassed” the champion last week. Triple H continues, saying that Lesnar attacked Rollins first last week, so what Rollins did was “understandable”. The COO then suggests that they all “calm down” and Brock can have a steak while he and Paul Heyman discuss the issue like “businessmen” and they can all put what happened last week behind them. However, Brock Lesnar was in no mood for being calm, asking Triple H if he is out there to “fix this” or if the COO is out there to “fight”! As Paul Heyman screams that Triple H is their “meal ticket” and the COO is the one who pays the bills, the champion readies himself for a fight. Just as things start to get heated between Lesnar and Triple H, Stephanie McMahon breaks it up, making her way to the ring with Kane & Big Show by her side. Stephanie implores them to be “businessmen”, saying that fighting Triple H is not what Brock wants to do right now. Stephanie, Kane, & Big Show then join Triple H as both The Authority and Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman cautiously circle each other in the ring. With both sides at a standoff with Brock appearing to be ready to jump on The Authority at any second, both Paul Heyman and Stephanie McMahon try to keep things. “The Beast” would finally take his attention off of The Authority once Seth Rollins appears on the big screen. Rollins tells the champion that Brock is always “two steps behind”, telling Lesnar that he will get his hands on Rollins at the Royal Rumble just before Rollins takes his title. Paul Heyman then chimes in, saying that this is between the “adults”, advising The Authority to put a “leash” on their “puppy” before Lesnar fixes things all by himself. Heyman then says that, either they talk things out and keep Brock happy or there are going to be a lot of “bodies” left in the champion’s wake and a “depleted roster” is what’s “worst for business”. Heyman then vows that Brock Lesnar will still be the champion after this Sunday. With Brock Lesnar close to his breaking point, the missing piece of the puzzle makes his voice heard as John Cena comes out. Cena says that, this Sunday at the Royal Rumble, they are going to “settle it” before saying a while back, he refused to join The Authority and that led to Brock Lesnar setting his sights on Cena. Cena then tells The Authority to “keep it up” because everything they do “lights a fire” under him and he is going to beat The Authority’s “mercenary” and their “protégé” and he will leave the Royal Rumble saying “the champ is here”! Cena says that The Authority uses “politics” to get rid of three hard-working Superstars, telling Triple H & Stephanie are two big pits of “ashes”, calling The Authority the world’s biggest “ash-holes”. Cena then starts to exit, but Stephanie halts Cena, says that Cena “used to be” the guy that kids looked up to as their hero, but now Cena is the guy who turned his back on the fans by bringing The Authority back. Stephanie continues, saying that The Authority is there because of Cena before saying that Cena is “single-handedly responsible” for Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler losing their “livelihoods”. Stephanie then says that no one wants to see Cena win at the Rumble because Cena is not the man he “used to be”. Seth Rollins then chimes in, saying that Cena is a “loser” and nobody wants to cheer for a “failure” before saying that Cena is going to “fail” this Sunday. Rollins continues, saying that the only person that doesn’t realize that John Cena is a failure is John Cena, telling Cena that he should just back out of the title match and keep whatever “dignity” he has left. Cena then proclaims that, after the Royal Rumble, they will all have to “respect” him. Cena then proposes a major stipulation to this Sunday’s Triple Threat Match, saying that “when” he wins the title at the Royal Rumble, then Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler will get their jobs back! Triple H then says that they gave Cena the chance to get those three Superstars their jobs back last week, but Cena failed. The COO says that he’s “inclined” to add Cena’s stipulation, but Cena has to “step up to the plate”. Triple H then says that Cena will have a match tonight and, if Cena loses, not only will Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler not get their jobs back, but Cena will have to forfeit his spot in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble! Stephanie then antagonizes Cena, asking if Cena is willing to put his title opportunity on the line to get those three Superstars their jobs back or is Cena “all talk”. Just as Cena is about to give his answer, Triple H interrupts Cena, saying that they are not going to let Cena make that decision, they are going to let the fans decide! Triple H then says that the fifteen million fans that have downloaded the WWE App will have a simple “yes or no” choice to make, saying that they will see what the world thinks of John Cena, leaving Cena with a look of uncertainty on his face, looking around at the fans. With both men set to compete in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match this Sunday, the opening match of the night would see former rivals face off as Daniel Bryan would go one-on-one with “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt on RAW. Early on in the match, Daniel Bryan’s opponent this Thursday on SmackDown, Kane, makes his way to ringside. Despite Bray Wyatt targeting the surgically-repaired neck of Daniel Bryan throughout the match, Bryan would continue to fight back, but just as Bryan looked close to a victory, Kane gets involved behind the referee’s back. Kane drops Bryan face-first onto the ring apron before rolling Bryan back into the ring and Wyatt would take advantage, sending Bryan’s face hard into the middle turnbuckle, following it up with the Sister Abigail and the pin to pick up the win. After the match, Bray Wyatt would exit the ring, leaving Daniel Bryan at Kane’s mercy as The Authority’s designated hitter drops Bryan with a chokeslam before pummeling the helpless Bryan with several right hands to the head. Backstage, WWE COO Triple H reunites with two old friends and two certified legends as, complete with their nWo shirts on, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash embrace Triple H. Hall compliments Triple H on his suit, asking if Triple H is still working that “Authority gimmick”. Triple H says that it’s not a bad gig and Kevin Nash tells the COO to drop the suit and “run around” with them tonight. Triple H appears skeptical before Shawn Michaels enters the room, who tells Triple H that the COO should join them in the ring later tonight, asking Triple H if he is “Vince Jr.” Michaels then advises his longtime friend to bring Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler back and just give them a “hard time” that way. Triple H says that he doesn’t come to where Shawn Michaels works and tell him how to “kill defenseless animals”. Nash then asks where X-Pac is at, saying that it can’t be a Kliq reunion without him. This brings in a very convincing X-Pac impersonator played by Damien Mizdow, but the real X-Pac comes in, commending the faux Pac on his impersonation, trying to hire Mizdow. However, The Miz enters, telling The Kliq that Mizdow is his stunt double, telling Mizdow to go and change out of his X-Pac attire. After getting snubbed by The Kliq, The Miz exits and Kevin Nash asks Triple H what kind of show he’s running and Triple H responds with mock shame. Then it was time for a special Royal Rumble Legends panel as Byron Saxton first introduces a two-time Royal Rumble winner and WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan, as “The Hulkster” make his way to the ring. Byron then introduces the only two-time WWE Hall of Famer in WWE history and the only man to ever win the WWE Championship in a Royal Rumble Match, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, who joins Hogan in the ring. Last but not least, Byron introduces the first Superstar in Royal Rumble history to enter the Rumble at #1 and win the whole match and fellow Hall of Famer, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels, who makes his way to the ring as all three Hall of Famers take their seats. Byron first asks the panel if they think that John Cena should put his title shot at the Royal Rumble on the line to get the chance to get Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler their jobs back. A winded Shawn Michaels simply says “yes” before Ric Flair weighs in with a “no” and Hulk Hogan provides a “yes”. Byron then changes topics to the Royal Rumble Match, asking Flair if winning the WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble Match in 1992 is still the highlight of Flair’s legendary career. The two-time Hall of Famer says that he still considers his championship-winning performance in the 1992 Royal Rumble Match to be the high point of his career, saying that it wasn’t the first time that he’s performed for over an hour and saying that there is nothing like winning the Royal Rumble Match. Byron Saxton then says that Shawn Michaels is one of only three men to win back-to-back Royal Rumble Matches, asking HBK what the Royal Rumble Match means to him. Michaels says that he would not be known as “Mr. WrestleMania” had it not been for the Royal Rumble Match. Byron then says that Hulk Hogan is one of the Superstars who helped elevate the Royal Rumble Match to what it is today, asking Hogan what he remembers most about the Royal Rumble. Hogan says that, when he thinks about the Royal Rumble, he remembers the “super talent” that has competed in the Royal Rumble Match, thanking the Hulkamaniacs for helping him survive the Royal Rumble Match. Byron then asks the panel who they are picking to win the Royal Rumble Match this year and Shawn Michaels picks Bray Wyatt as the Rumble winner, saying that, despite what is “going on upstairs”, Wyatt has what it takes to go the distance. Hulk Hogan then makes his pick, predicting that Daniel Bryan will win the Rumble this year and Ric Flair follows up with his pick, saying that Dean Ambrose will win it this year and that he likes a guy who lives life on the “wild side”. However, the Legends panel is then brought to a halt with the arrival of “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, who makes his way to the ring, joining the three Hall of Famers in the ring. Hulk Hogan stands up to the giant, saying that nobody wants him out there right now. Big Show tells Hogan to “pipe down” before saying that none of them picked him to win the Royal Rumble Match because they are “jealous” of him. Big Show then reminds Hogan that, on his first night in WCW, he beat Hogan for the championship. Big Show then gets in Ric Flair’s face, saying that Flair tried to put the Figure-Four Leg Lock on him and he reached up, grabbed Flair by the throat, and took Flair out of the “top spot”. Big Show then tells Shawn Michaels that, when he arrived on the scene, Michaels “faded out of the picture”, saying that if he ever got his hands on HBK, he would have eaten him alive. Big Show then calls all three of them “washed up has-beens” who come out there “begging for a little attention”, saying that he is “ashamed” of them. Big Show then says that there is “nobody” who can get him over the top rope in the Royal Rumble Match before telling the trio of Legends to go back to the “old folks home” or he will give them a “preview” of the Royal Rumble Match right now. Never one to back down from any man, Ric Flair shows no fear of the giant, taking off his jacket and delivering a chop and some lefts and rights to Big Show before the disrespectful giant knocks the two-time Hall of Famer out with the Knockout Punch. Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels check on Ric Flair as Big Show blames the fans for making him knock Flair out. However, one man had seen enough as Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring, checking on Ric Flair before confronting Big Show. Big Show tells Reigns that he needs to get out of his ring before he gets “hurt”, but Roman was having none of it as Reigns gets the better of the giant, delivering a clothesline to Big Show that sends “The World’s Largest Athlete” over the top rope to the floor. As Big Show retreats to the back, Roman Reigns accompanies Ric Flair to the back as “The Nature Boy” is assisted by a referee and a ringside physician. Backstage, the results of the WWE App vote are revealed as 85% of fans want to see John Cena put his title opportunity on the line for the chance to get Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler their jobs back. Cena responds by saying that he wants to “fight” and he wants the match, saying that it’s moments like tonight that make a “champion” and, tonight, “the champ is here”. In a non-title match between two of the thirty combatants in the Royal Rumble Match this Sunday, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose went one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett. Despite some trouble with his injured knee, Dean Ambrose would persevere, spiking Bad News Barrett with Dirty Deeds, pinning the Intercontinental Champion for the win. The New Day was in action on RAW as, with Xavier Woods in their corner, Big E & Kofi Kingston would face Cesaro & Tyson Kidd, with Adam Rose and Natalya in their corner. In the end, it was Kofi Kingston surprising Cesaro with a roll-up, scoring the win for himself and Big E. As part of the RAW Reunion, it was time for a special nWo reunion as Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, & X-Pac make their way to the ring. Scott Hall says that everyone knows that you can’t have a reunion without the three of them before Hall takes one of his signature surveys. Kevin Nash then says that the nWo “single-handedly” created the Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW, reminding everyone of their contributions. Nash says that people say that they have “egos”, but they have to admit that they are “responsible for everything great that has ever been created”. X-Pac then tells the fans to “make some noise” before the nWo reunion is ruined by the arrival of the bold young tag team known as The Ascension. Konnor & Viktor confront the three Legends as Viktor says that all they see are “three old dogs” who are begging to be put out of their “misery” with Konnor adding that they are just the two men to do. As the fans chant “you suck”, Konnor claims that they were “born and bred to rip and shred” before Viktor says that there is “no team” in the past, present, or future that is better than The Ascension, especially not a team from WCW. Konnor then says that it is their “time to rise”, welcoming everyone to the “wasteland”. Having heard enough, Scott Hall throws his signature toothpick in Konnor’s face, which leads to both The Ascension and the nWo preparing themselves for a fight. However, John “Bradshaw” Layfield gets up from his announce position at ringside, taking off his suit and tie. Enraged by The Ascension’s lack of respect, JBL says that wearing spikes and painting their faces does not make The Ascension a legendary tag team. JBL then says that he made a feeling that something like this might happen, so he made a phone call to a Legend that he knows very well. Taking off his shirt to reveal an APA t-shirt, Hall of Famer Ron Simmons comes out to reunite with JBL! With the APA and the nWo already surrounding The Ascension, another legendary team wanted to get in on the fun as The New Age Outlaws join the reunion! As Road Dogg & Billy Gunn make their way to the ring, Road Dogg says that there “ain’t no party like an old school party ‘cause an old school party don’t stop”. Joining the other legends in the ring, Road Dogg says that, so far, the party consists of “thoroughbreds” and “racehorses”, asking who invited the “jackasses”. With that, The New Age Outlaws attack The Ascension and Billy Gunn hits the tilt-a-whirl slam on Viktor before knocking Konnor out of the ring. JBL then winds his right arm up before hitting the ropes and blasting Konnor with a thunderous Clothesline From Hell! The seven Legends then celebrate and greet each other in the ring with the nWo, the APA, and the New Age Outlaws all standing tall, having sent a message to The Ascension. Before John Cena puts his title shot at the Royal Rumble on the line in exchange for the chance to get Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler their jobs back later on in the evening, Triple H & Stephanie McMahon appear backstage to reveal who John Cena will be facing in the main event. Asking for a drumroll, The Authority reveals that, tonight, John Cena will not only face Seth Rollins, but Big Show & Kane as well, in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match with The Authority at ringside! With The Bella Twins guests on commentary, Paige & Natalya would face Alicia Fox & Summer Rae on RAW. In the end, it was Paige locking in the PTO on Alicia Fox, making Alicia tap out to pick up the win for herself and Natalya. Before he joins twenty-nine other Superstars in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match this Sunday, the United States Champion was in action on RAW as Rusev, with Lana in his corner, would face R-Truth in a non-title match. In the end, it was Rusev locking in the Accolade on R-Truth, making Truth tap out to pick up the win. Backstage, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar confronts “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins with a message for the Royal Rumble. Brock tells Rollins that he is not going to hurt Rollins tonight, but Rollins better do both of them a “favor” and take John Cena out tonight. The champion then says that, this Sunday, he will get paid to take Rollins out, letting “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” know that he will take him out. The WWE Tag Team Champions were on RAW as one-half of the tag champions, Jey Uso, with Jimmy Uso in his corner, would face The Miz, with Damien Mizdow in his corner. In the end, it was Jey Uso hitting the Superfly Splash on The Miz, pinning Miz for the win. Then it was time for the main event as John Cena would have to overcome impossible odds by facing Seth Rollins, Big Show, & Kane in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match with Triple H & Stephanie McMahon at ringside. Not only that, but if Cena wins, then Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler get their jobs back, but if Cena loses, he is out of the Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at the Royal Rumble. Naturally, John Cena would be dominated by Seth Rollins, Big Show, & Kane for the majority of the match, but Cena would spot his opening, sending Big Show out of the ring and knocking Kane off of the ring apron. Cena would then try for the Attitude Adjustment on Seth Rollins, but J&J Security would help Rollins fight out of the move. Rollins would then try for a roll-up before blasting Cena with a kick to the face, but Cena would kick out and, a few minutes later, Cena would hit the Attitude Adjustment on Rollins. However, when Cena goes for the cover on Rollins, Kane pulls Cena out of the ring before Cena is blasted with the Spear by Big Show. As the referee begins his count, Triple H & Stephanie McMahon stand over John Cena, taunting Cena before Cena just manages to beat the ten-count. However, Kane would quickly grab Cena by the throat, drilling Cena with a chokeslam, but Cena would still kick out. Kane would then tag Seth Rollins in, who readies himself to deliver the Curb Stomp on Cena, but that is when “The Icon” stops everyone in their tracks as none other than Sting appears on the big screen! With Triple H, Kane, & Big Show all standing guard at ringside with Seth Rollins in the ring, daring “The Vigilante” to come and get him, the man they call Sting makes his RAW debut, stepping out onto the stage! Sting would then symbolically point his finger at The Authority and this is when John Cena would make his move, taking advantage of the distraction and rolling up Seth Rollins to win the match, keeping his spot in the title match at the Royal Rumble and, more importantly, getting the jobs back of Erick Rowan, Ryback, & Dolph Ziggler! John Cena quickly escapes into the crowd, narrowly avoiding The Authority, who is in a rage following Sting’s interference. No one was angrier than WWE COO Triple H as Triple H throws a fit at ringside before standing on top of the announce table and screaming that Sting does not belong there. As the crowd chants “we want Sting”, there was one man left who wanted to make a statement before the Royal Rumble as WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar marches to the ring with Paul Heyman in tow. After handing the title belt off to his advocate, Brock Lesnar shows no fear towards being outnumbered with Seth Rollins, Kane, & Big Show all standing before him. Lesnar immediately targets Rollins, taking Rollins down, but Kane & Big Show pull “The Beast” off of Rollins. Using his uncontrollable rage to his advantage, Brock Lesnar knees Big Show in the gut before hoisting Kane up on his shoulders and dropping Kane with a thunderous F-5! The champion then tackles Rollins again and Big Show pulls Lesnar off of Rollins before “The Beast” picks up the giant and delivers an unreal F-5 to “The World’s Largest Athlete” as Seth Rollins flees to the back, scared for his life! Having made an emphatic statement, Brock Lesnar angrily paces around the ring while Paul Heyman proudly holds up the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt. What did you think of this week’s RAW?
