WWE SmackDown Results: October 31, 2014By Cassidy| October 31, 2014 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results The Halloween edition of SmackDown kicks off, appropriately enough, with a #1 Contender’s Divas Halloween Costume Battle Royal as, with Divas Champion AJ Lee a guest on commentary, Paige dressed as Summer Rae, Natalya dressed as the Queen of Hearts, Naomi dressed as a paratrooper, Summer Rae dressed as a nerd, Layla dressed as a clown, Emma dressed as Tarzan, Rosa Mendes dressed as a zombie nurse, Cameron as a cop, Alicia Fox as a firefighter, and Nikki Bella as a black cat would all compete in the over-the-top rope match with the winner becoming the new #1 Contender for the Divas Title. The first elimination would see Naomi eliminate Rosa Mendes, followed shortly by Natalya eliminating Summer Rae. Alicia Fox would then toss Emma to the outside before Paige eliminates Layla and Cameron is eliminated by Naomi & Natalya. Natalya then eliminates Naomi followed by Alicia Fox eliminating Natalya. With only three Divas left, the hatred between Alicia Fox and Paige would cost both Divas as Alicia charges at Paige, eliminating Paige and herself in the process, meaning that Nikki Bella wins the match and is the new #1 Contender for the Divas Title! In a rematch from RAW, Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler would go one-on-one with The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane, with Seth Rollins and his personal security in his corner, in a non-title match. In the end, it was Kane planting Dolph Ziggler with a chokeslam, pinning the Intercontinental Champion for the win. After the match, Kane would pick Dolph Ziggler up again, planting “The Show-Off” with a second chokeslam. Seth Rollins’ personal security would then come into the ring, beating Dolph Ziggler down before holding the Intercontinental Champion up as Kane announces that Dolph Ziggler has another match and it’s against Seth Rollins right now! The referee reluctantly rings the bell and Seth Rollins effortlessly hits the Curb Stomp on Dolph Ziggler, pinning Dolph with ease for the win. After “The Big Guy” made a surprise this past Monday on RAW, Ryback would go one-on-one with Heath Slater, who was dressed as a scarecrow, on SmackDown. With straw littering the ring, Ryback would dominate Heath Slater, hitting Shell Shocked on Slater and pinning Slater for the win. The self-proclaimed “A-Lister” The Miz and his stunt double, Damien Mizdow, would then appear in the ring for Miz TV and The Miz’s guest would be the man who turned his back on Big Show on RAW as “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry makes his way to the ring. Mark Henry says that The Miz and everyone knows what happened, saying that Big Show got “jealous”. However, The Miz suggests that Mark Henry enjoyed seeing Big Show fail to beat Rusev at WWE Hell in a Cell, showing exclusive footage of Mark Henry laughing at ringside while Rusev made Big Show tap out! Mark Henry says that Big Show facing Rusev was not about America, it was about Big Show doing what Mark Henry could not do. The Miz then gives Mark Henry the floor as Henry says that it’s not about “size”, it’s about “strength”. Things then get interesting with the arrival of “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, who comes out to the stage with a stern look on his face. Big Show then marches towards the ring, but Mark Henry retreats to the ring apron and, when Big Show enters the ring, Mark Henry shoves The Miz & Damien Mizdow into Big Show in an attempt to escape. However, Big Show shoves The Miz & Mizdow to the side, making a beeline for “The World’s Strongest Man” and, after keeping Henry from escaping through the crowd, a brawl breaks out at ringside between the two behemoths. Mark Henry would gain the advantage in the brawl, shoving Big Show into the steel ring post before shoving “The World’s Largest Athlete” through the ringside barricade, demolishing the barricade! The WWE Tag Team Champions were in action on SmackDown as Gold & Stardust would face Los Matadores, with El Torito in their corner, in a non-title match. During the match, Stardust would go out of his way to bully El Torito and, in the end, it would cost Gold & Stardust as El Torito would hit Stardust with an arm drag on the outside, distracting Goldust long enough for Fernando to take advantage, rolling Goldust up for the win! Backstage, the sheep mask-wearing Erick Rowan is watching See No Evil 2 when he is confronted by The Authority’s Director of Operations and See No Evil 2 star Kane, who looks at Erick Rowan before sitting down next to him. Rowan then looks at Kane and raises his mask to tell the Director of Operations that Kane “scared” him. Rowan then lowers the mask and both men go back to watching the movie. Following a hard-fought victory over Big Show at WWE Hell in a Cell, Rusev would combat another giant as “The Hero of the Russian Federation”, with Lana in his corner, would go one-on-one with The Great Khali on SmackDown. Rusev would make fairly quick work of The Great Khali, blasting Khali with a huge kick before making Khali tap out to the Accolade to pick up the win. After the match, Rusev proclaims that he has beaten their real Americans, their strongest Americans, and he has beaten their “giant American”. Rusev then issues a challenge to Sheamus, vowing that he will take the United States Title away from Sheamus and give it to Vladimir Putin! Naturally, this brings out United States Champion Sheamus, who says that he has been looking for a fight ever since Rusev declared a war against America. Sheamus then accepts the challenge, making his way to the ring and saying that he takes pride in representing America as the United States Champion. Sheamus then charges the ring, but Rusev narrowly dodges the Brogue Kick, escaping to higher ground as Sheamus stands tall in the ring. After making his surprise return at WWE Hell in a Cell where he attacked Dean Ambrose and cost “The Lunatic Fringe” his Hell in a Cell Match against Seth Rollins, “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt would make an appearance on SmackDown. Taking a seat in his signature rocking chair in the ring, Bray Wyatt says that today is a very special day because everyone gets to pretend to be something that they are not, claiming that they “hate everything” about their normal lives, saying that they cannot pretend forever. Bray then says that Dean Ambrose is different, saying that Ambrose gets to wave his “mask” around on a daily basis and Ambrose is not like any of them, he is like Bray. Wyatt continues, saying that Ambrose is a “monster” and he knows what it is like to have a breathing soul in your hand and, in that moment, it can be taken away. Bray then says that Ambrose’s “sins” will stain him forever before saying that “she still cries” for Ambrose, kneeling on the mat and yelling “follow the buzzards”. Then it was time for the main event as, with all sorts of Halloween-themed weaponry littering the ring and ringside area, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would go to war with “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro in the first ever Trick or Street Fight, where there would be no disqualifications and no count-outs. It would not take long for the match to get extreme as Cesaro would use a candy corn-colored kendo stick to lay into Dean Ambrose, repeatedly striking “The Lunatic Fringe”. Cesaro then sets some Jack O’ Lanterns next to each other in the ring before Dean Ambrose regains the advantage at ringside, knocking a bucket of candy out of Cesaro’s hands before grabbing a kendo stick and waylaying Cesaro. Ambrose then brings Cesaro back into the ring, delivering a backdrop to Cesaro on top of the pumpkins! Back on the outside, Ambrose rips a skeleton off of the steel ring post, attacking Cesaro with the skeleton. Ambrose then attacks Cesaro with a witch’s broom, laying Cesaro on a table before diving off of the top rope with an elbow drop, sending Cesaro through the table. Ambrose would then bring Cesaro back into the ring where he puts a Jack O’ Lantern over Cesaro’s head, spiking “The Swiss Superman” with Dirty Deeds and pinning Cesaro for the win. After the match, Cesaro would put the Jack O’ Lantern back on Cesaro’s head and, after a clueless Cesaro manages to get back to his feet, Ambrose plants Cesaro with Dirty Deeds for a second time before celebrating with a skeleton!
