WWE SmackDown Results: October 24, 2014By Cassidy| October 24, 2014 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results As he prepares to step inside Hell in a Cell for the first time against Seth Rollins at WWE Hell in a Cell, SmackDown kicks off with “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose. Ambrose says that no matter what happens to him, he gets back up and it’s because he’s “indestructible”. Ambrose continues, saying that, deep down, Mick Foley was always a “nice guy”, but he’s not a nice guy, he has no family to go home to and he doesn’t have anything else to live for but his “thirst for vengeance” is what keeps him going. Ambrose then says that Seth Rollins is going to learn the cold, hard truth this Sunday that it doesn’t matter how fat your pockets are because you can’t take your money with you when you’re “knee deep in your own personal hell”. Dean Ambrose then dares Rollins to come out there and tell him otherwise, but “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” opts to appear on the big screen, saying that Ambrose does not tell him what to do. Rollins then says that he plans to call Dean Ambrose out later in the night before saying that from the moment they debuted as The Shield, he was plotting his “moment”, saying that “vengeance is cheap” and, just like Ambrose, it’s not “worth a damn”. Rollins continues, saying that his “future” begins when he destroys Dean Ambrose inside Hell in a Cell this Sunday and he will go on to cash in his Money-in-the-Bank contract to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and solidify his future. Ambrose responds by telling Rollins that, when the Cell lowers this Sunday, he doesn’t care if it’s his last match or his last night in WWE, he is going to make sure that Seth Rollins will “perish alone”! With United States Champion Sheamus a guest on commentary, the #1 Contender for the United States Title, The Miz, would team with his stunt double, Damien Mizdow, to face Los Matadores, with El Torito in their corner, in the opening match of the night. In the end, it was The Miz locking in the Figure-Four Leg Lock on Diego inside the ring while Damien Mizdow mimicked the move, applying it to Fernando outside the ring, with Diego tapping out as The Miz & Damien Mizdow pick up the win. Before she defends the Divas Title against Paige at WWE Hell in a Cell, Divas Champion AJ Lee would go one-on-one with Alicia Fox, with Paige in her corner, in a non-title match on SmackDown. During the match, Paige would try to distract AJ Lee again like she did on RAW, but AJ Lee had it scouted as the Divas Champion shoves Alicia Fox into Paige, knocking Paige off of the apron as AJ Lee rolls Alicia up for the win. In a sit-down interview with Michael Cole recorded earlier in the day, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show discusses Rusev’s heinous actions on RAW, as well as his match against Rusev at WWE Hell in a Cell. Big Show says that, when Rusev put his hands on the American flag on RAW, a soldier let his “exuberance” get the better of him and Rusev used a “cheap shot” on the soldier. Commenting on pulling down the Russian flag a few weeks ago, Big Show says that he did not intend to disrespect the Russian people, he intended to disrespect Rusev & Lana. Big Show says that he has met countless celebrities, but those are not his “heroes”, his heroes are the American soldiers. Big Show then says that there is no better experience than to realize that you have such a huge effect on your heroes. When asked if he can keep his emotions in check, Big Show says that he is going to let all of his anger and frustration out on Rusev this Sunday night and he will knock him out and pin Rusev in the middle of the ring. After pinning the Intercontinental Champion on RAW to earn the opportunity, SmackDown would see “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro challenge Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship. At the end of an incredible back-and-forth match, it was Dolph Ziggler pulling the Zig Zag off out of nowhere, pinning Cesaro to pick up the win and successfully retain the Intercontinental Title. Before she faces her sister, Nikki, at WWE Hell in a Cell, Brie Bella would team with Naomi & Natalya to face Nikki Bella, Cameron, & Summer Rae in a 6-Diva Tag match. In the end, it was Nikki Bella hitting the Rack Attack on her sister, pinning Brie to pick up the win for her team. As they prepare to challenge Gold & Stardust for the WWE Tag Team Titles this Sunday at WWE Hell in a Cell, The Usos would team with “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry to face WWE Tag Team Champions Gold & Stardust and Bo Dallas in a 6-Man Tag match. In the end, it was Bo Dallas again pulling off an improbably victory, hitting the Bo Dog on Mark Henry, pinning “The World’s Strongest Man” to pick up the win for his team. Moments after successfully retaining the Intercontinental Title against Cesaro, a backstage interview with Dolph Ziggler is interrupted by Cesaro, who says that Dolph got “lucky” and saying that the Intercontinental Championship is the most prestigious championship in WWE. Cesaro then challenges Dolph Ziggler to a rematch for the Intercontinental Title at WWE Hell in a Cell, but this time, it will be a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match and the fighting champion wastes no time in accepting the challenge! Making good on his promise from earlier in the evening, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins would make his way to the ring, flanked by Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury. With two tables set up in the ring covered in every foreign object imaginable, Seth Rollins says that they can call him a “sell-out” all they want because he is a “winner”. Rollins continues, saying that he is going to win this Sunday and he may have never competed inside Hell in a Cell before, but he knows that there are “no rules” inside the Cell. Holding up a pair of handcuffs, Seth Rollins says that, maybe, he will use the handcuffs to bind Dean Ambrose to the Cell and make Ambrose realize that he has nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Rollins then grabs a screwdriver, saying that maybe he will use it to deflate Ambrose’s “oversized ego” before picking up a lead pipe, saying that he is going to use it to beat Ambrose to a pulp. Rollins then grabs a steel chair, saying that he used the chair to decimate Dean Ambrose and prove that he was the “backbone” of The Shield. “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” then says that he is going to what he said he was going to do before Rollins calls Dean Ambrose out, but when Ambrose doesn’t show up, Rollins says that Ambrose is “all talk”, accusing Ambrose of being “afraid” and saying that, for him, the future is a very “bright place”, but for Ambrose, the future has always been a ride straight to “hell”. Seth Rollins then shows the conclusion of RAW where he stood atop the Hell in a Cell structure, but with Rollins’ attention on the big screen, Dean Ambrose would appear behind “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank”! After knocking Noble & Mercury off of the ring apron, Ambrose would toss Rollins into the table full of objects, but Noble & Mercury would get involved, temporarily holding Ambrose back. Ambrose would manage to break free and would nearly put Seth Rollins through a table, but Jamie Noble would attack Ambrose as Seth Rollins makes a quick escape. “The Lunatic Fringe” then sends a strong message to Seth Rollins by spiking Joey Mercury with Dirty Deeds before rolling Mercury onto a table and putting Mercury through the table with an elbow drop! Ambrose would then pick Jamie Noble up and place him on the table, putting Noble through a table with an elbow drop as well, all while an angry Seth Rollins watches from the stage!
