WWE SmackDown Results: October 10, 2014By Cassidy| October 10, 2014 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results The 15th anniversary of SmackDown kicks off with the first SmackDown General Manager in history and WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, saying that it was The Rock who came up with the name for SmackDown, making sure to point out that her husband, Triple H, defeated The Rock on the very first episode of SmackDown. Stephanie says that she gets to share many memories with the people here tonight. Stephanie is then interrupted by the former General Manager of RAW and SmackDown and the patriarch of “People Power”, John Laurinaitis. “Big Johnny” introduces himself to the fans before saying that, who better to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of SmackDown, than the man who created the movement known as “People Power”. The crowd then erupts for the next interruption as the longest reigning General Manager in the history of SmackDown, Theodore Long, joins the festivities! However, no one seemed more excited than SmackDown commentator John “Bradshaw” Layfield, who eagerly dances his way over to greet Theodore Long before dancing his way back to his seat. Joining Stephanie McMahon and John Laurinaitis in the ring, Theodore Long tells Laurinaitis that he was the General Manager of SmackDown for six years and he will not let Laurinaitis take over the show again. Laurinaitis tells Long that he was better than Long then and he’s better than Long now. “Big Johnny” then takes it upon himself to announce a tag team match for SmackDown pitting The Miz and Cesaro against Sheamus and Jack Swagger, but Theodore Long one-ups “Big Johnny” by making a 6-Man Tag Match, putting Bo Dallas with The Miz and Cesaro against Sheamus, Jack Swagger, & Mark Henry. Laurinaitis then raises the stakes again, making it a 10-Man Tag Match between the teams of The Miz, Cesaro, Bo Dallas, and Gold & Stardust and Sheamus, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, & The Usos! Not one for backing down, Theodore Long makes an announcement befitting of the 15th Anniversary of SmackDown as Long announces the first ever 15-Man Tag Match, proposing that The Miz, Cesaro, Bo Dallas, Gold & Stardust, Slater & Gator, and Mini-Gator face Sheamus, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, The Usos, Los Matadores, El Torito, & Tito Santana! Outraged, John Laurinaitis says that Teddy cannot make such a match and Stephanie somewhat agrees, commenting that Tito Santana isn’t even in the arena, much less on the active roster. Teddy argues that seven men and a bull facing seven men and a mini-gator sounds like a 15-Man Tag Match to him, but Stephanie says that she is going to steal an idea from WrestleMania 28 where they had Team Johnny vs. Team Teddy, saying that both men can pick which team they want to captain and whoever’s team wins the match will be named the “greatest General Manager of all-time”! Appeasing the two former General Managers, Stephanie then announces that, tonight on SmackDown, The Miz will host a special edition of Miz TV with Hell in a Cell opponents John Cena and Dean Ambrose as his guests. Adam Rose then unexpectedly arrives on the scene as Rose leads The Exotic Express to the ring, wishing SmackDown a happy birthday, saying that it is time to party. Rose then tells Stephanie not to be a “lemon”, to be a “rosebud”. Stephanie agrees that it is “party time” and Adam Rose should be in action, putting the party-starter in a match against Kane! This changes Adam Rose’s demeanor in a hurry before Theodore Long and John Laurinaitis join Stephanie McMahon in dancing to Adam Rose’s music in the ring as Adam Rose and The Exotic Express watch in disbelief. Per the orders of WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, the opening match of the night would see the leader of The Exotic Express, Adam Rose, going one-on-one with The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane. It was a relatively easy win for the Director of Operations, who plants Adam Rose with the chokeslam, pinning Adam Rose for the win. After the match, members of The Exotic Express enter the ring to check on Adam Rose and that is when Kane decides to come back to the ring, attacking the rosebuds and taking all of them out before setting his sights on The Bunny. Rosebuds would continue to run interference as Kane lays waste to the rosebuds while The Bunny narrowly escapes the wrath of the Director of Operations. The Divas Champion was in action on the 15th Anniversary of SmackDown as AJ Lee would face Alicia Fox, with Paige in her corner, in a non-title match. In the end, it was AJ Lee locking in the Black Widow on Alicia Fox, making Alicia tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Paige would attack the Divas Champion from behind, but AJ Lee would fight back, tossing Alicia Fox into Paige before escaping from the ring. After learning that he will face either John Cena or Dean Ambrose inside Hell in a Cell at WWE Hell in a Cell, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” was in action on SmackDown as Seth Rollins, with agents Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury in his corner, would face Kofi Kingston. Throughout the match, Seth Rollins would methodically dominate Kofi Kingston, hitting the Curb Stomp on Kofi, pinning Kofi for the win. After being rocked by The Rock in a surprise appearance by “The People’s Champion” on RAW, “The Hero of the Russian Federation” Rusev, with Lana in his corner, would go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match on SmackDown. Dolph Ziggler would throw his best shots at “The Super Athlete”, but Rusev would prove unstoppable against the Intercontinental Champion, forcing Dolph Ziggler to tap out to the Accolade. After the match, Lana would insult The Rock in Russian before Rusev takes the microphone, challenging Big Show to a match on RAW! In a meeting between two icons that took place after RAW this past Monday night, “The Great One” The Rock greets WWE COO Triple H and WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon in their office. Triple H and The Rock recall their match in the main event of the very first SmackDown with the COO slyly reminding The Rock that he beat him for the title that night. The Rock quickly acknowledges the defeat, saying it was because Shawn Michaels cost him the match and Triple H “cheated” before reminding Triple H of the following week’s SmackDown where he planted Triple H with the Rock Bottom in the middle of the ring, mocking Triple H’s pain on that night while he stood triumphant. Triple H corrects The Rock, claiming that it was Road Dogg that The Rock heard crying in pain, saying that he would come in and drop The Rock and, most of the time, The Rock was the one looking up at the lights. The Rock then proposes the idea of one more match between them at WrestleMania, mumbling through Triple H’s theme song before miming that he would put Triple H down with the Rock Bottom, followed by the People’s Elbow. Triple H adds that he would move out of the way and hit The Rock with the Pedigree and would win the match, saying that 100,000 people would go crazy if they were to have one more match at WrestleMania, but it wouldn’t matter because the result would the same as it always has been as he would whip The Rock’s ass! The Rock gets in Triple H’s face, saying that it doesn’t matter which WrestleMania it is, he would still lay the smackdown on Triple H’s “candy ass”. Not backing down, Triple H tells The Rock to name the WrestleMania time and place and he will “turn the electricity off” on “The Most Electrifying Man”! Now nose-to-nose, The Rock asks why their faces are so close and Triple H says that it’s a “weird tension”, but he can’t back out now and The Rock says that somebody has to back out. Both men then agree to back out on the count of three and Triple H tells The Rock not to do the “it doesn’t matter what you think” line and make him look foolish and The Rock agrees. On the count of three, both men back away from each other, but continue to argue over who’s better before Stephanie comes back in, saying that they’re both “winners” with both men arguing that they are a winner, but the other guy isn’t. Stephanie then proposes they go and get something to eat with The Rock calling Triple H a “cheap bastard” as he leaves the room with Triple H telling his wife under his breath that The Rock is a well-paid Hollywood actor but he still can’t pick up the bill. With WWE Hall of Famer and former SmackDown General Manager Booker T a guest on commentary, it was time for the first ever 15-Man Tag Match as Theodore Long would captain the team of United States Champion Sheamus, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, The Usos, Los Matadores, & El Torito against the John Laurinaitis-captained team of Damien Mizdow, Cesaro, Bo Dallas, WWE Tag Team Champions Gold & Stardust, Slater & Gator, & Mini-Gator with the victorious team captain being named the greatest General Manager in SmackDown history! In the end, it was Sheamus hitting the Brogue Kick on Damien Mizdow, followed by Jey Uso hitting the Superfly Splash on Mizdow, pinning Mizdow to pick up the win for Team Teddy, earning Theodore Long the title of the greatest SmackDown General Manager of all-time! Then it was time for a special edition of Miz TV as the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” The Miz proclaims that he has two guests tonight, saying that tonight’s Miz TV may be the most volatile edition ever given the events of RAW. The Miz then makes the announcement that the scheduled match between John Cena and Dean Ambrose at WWE Hell in a Cell will now be a No Holds Barred Contract-on-a-Pole Match where the first man to successfully retrieve the contract will get to face Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell! The Miz first introduces “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose, who joins The Miz in the ring before “The A-Lister” introduces John Cena, making sure to mention that he defeated Cena at WrestleMania 27. With both of his guests in the ring, The Miz asks Dean Ambrose why he attacked John Cena on RAW and Ambrose says that nobody crosses him, saying that he doesn’t take crap from anyone. Ambrose says that he cannot live with himself not making things right against Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell, saying that nobody messes with him and he doesn’t care how high up on the “food chain” Cena is. Cena says that he has been watching Dean Ambrose since he arrived in WWE and, while The Authority scrambles to look for the next big thing in WWE, Ambrose proved on RAW that he has got “it”. Cena continues, saying that the fans have been wanting to see someone step up and threaten to knock John Cena down, telling Ambrose that they are cut from the same stone and he has proven that he has his “word” and he doesn’t break it for anyone. Cena says that, after their match at WWE Hell in a Cell, Ambrose will know his name and he likes his “chances”. The Miz says that John Cena has defeated everyone in his path, asking Dean Ambrose if he thinks that he’s got a chance against the fifteen-time former World Champion. Ambrose doesn’t hesitate in saying that he does have a chance against Cena and when asked why he “thinks” he can beat Cena, Ambrose corrects The Miz, saying that he “knows” he can beat Cena. Cena then tells Ambrose that he will see Ambrose at WWE Hell in a Cell, but a hyped-up Miz stops Cena from leaving, saying that this is the 15th Anniversary of SmackDown and this is Miz TV, saying that they need to get mad at each other. The Miz continues shouting that Miz TV brings ratings and the fans want to see Cena and Ambrose fight. Cena then says that Philadelphia wants to see both of them fight The Miz! With that, both Cena and Ambrose attack The Miz, but instead of hitting the Attitude Adjustment on The Miz, Cena tosses “The A-Lister” to Dean Ambrose, who spikes Miz with a double underhook DDT before Cena grabs Dean Ambrose and hits the Attitude Adjustment on “The Lunatic Fringe”, getting his revenge on Dean Ambrose!
