WWE RAW Results: October 20, 2014By Cassidy| October 21, 2014 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results With the demonic Hell in a Cell structure ominously hanging above the ring, RAW kicks off with The Authority as WWE COO Triple H leads “The Viper” Randy Orton, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins, & The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane to the ring. Triple H welcomes everyone to RAW before saying that RAW will be an “epic” night and it will be a night that The Authority will be “proud of”. After reminding everyone of the 3-on-2 Handicap Street Fight main event, Triple H says that, if John Cena & Dean Ambrose survive The Authority tonight, then they will be going straight to “hell” this Sunday. The COO continues, saying that he can confidently say that competing in Hell in a Cell matches change your life. Triple H then takes a moment to point out that he has won more Hell in a Cell matches than anyone in history, saying that Hell in a Cell is not the kind of match that you “win”, it’s the kind of match that you “survive”. After reminding everyone of the double main event inside Hell in a Cell this Sunday, Triple H hands the microphone off to Seth Rollins, who proposes that he be referred to as the “undisputed future of the WWE” before saying that Dean Ambrose will have “no future” once he steps into Hell in a Cell in “the main event”. Randy Orton takes issue with what his Authority cohort has to say, telling Rollins that the “true main event” will involve a couple of Superstars who have been in WWE longer than a “hot cup of coffee”, vowing that he will end the decade-long rivalry between himself and John Cena this Sunday. Playing peacekeeper, Triple H says that they are both right because it is a “double main event” at WWE Hell in a Cell before adding a huge stipulation to the Hell in a Cell match between John Cena and Randy Orton, informing “The Viper” that, in addition to ending a decade-long rivalry, the Hell in a Cell match will be about “opportunity” because the winner of the match will earn a future WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against reigning champion Brock Lesnar! Orton then tells Triple H that he will make him “proud” by defeating John Cena this Sunday and going on to defeat Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Triple H says that he knows that all three of them will make him proud, proclaiming that The Authority always “wins” and that is what’s “best for business”. The opening match of the night was a 6-Man Tag match as, before their respective title matches this Sunday night at WWE Hell in a Cell, United States Champion Sheamus would team with The Usos to face The Miz’s stunt double, Damien Mizdow, and WWE Tag Team Champions Gold & Stardust with The Miz a guest on commentary. In the end, Sheamus would set up for the Brogue Kick on Damien Mizdow, but Stardust would get involved and Stardust would get blasted with the Brogue Kick. Damien Mizdow would quickly take advantage, surprising Sheamus with a roll-up to pin the United States Champion and pick up the win for his team. Backstage, Randy Orton confronts WWE COO Triple H, thanking his boss for giving him the opportunity to earn a WWE World Heavyweight Title shot, saying that he will make Triple H proud and he will walk into WrestleMania with the title around his waist once again. Triple H then reveals that the whole thing was actually Seth Rollins’ idea, which takes Orton by surprise before “The Viper” says that he needs to go and thank Seth Rollins “personally”. Before she defends the Divas Title against Paige this Sunday at WWE Hell in a Cell, the Divas Champion was in action on RAW as AJ Lee went one-on-one with Paige’s best friend Alicia Fox, with Paige in her corner, in a non-title match. During the match, an unusual scene unfolds outside the ring as, after AJ Lee knocks Alicia Fox to the outside, Paige shoves Alicia Fox and Alicia shoves back before Paige rolls Alicia back into the ring. Paige then gets on the ring apron, distracting AJ Lee long enough for Alicia to take advantage as she rolls AJ up for the win. After the match, Paige & Alicia Fox celebrate on the outside, revealing the whole fight to be a ruse. Backstage, Seth Rollins is confronted by Randy Orton, who thanks “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” for coming up with the idea to give the winner of the Hell in a Cell match between John Cena and himself a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins says that he is just “looking out for” Randy Orton, saying that he is a “team player”, but Orton says that he doesn’t need Rollins on his team, telling Rollins to stay out of his business. However, Seth Rollins says that, if by some “miracle”, he manages to defeat Cena inside Hell in a Cell and goes on to defeat Brock Lesnar for the title, then the “future” kind of takes care of itself. Orton glances at the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase, saying that the future will take care of itself. Six nights before he steps into the demonic Hell in a Cell against John Cena with the newly-added stipulation that the winner of the match will earn a future shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, “The Viper” Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. Orton says that he and Cena know what it’s like to be locked inside Hell in a Cell together, saying that it seems like it was just yesterday that it was 2002 and both he and Cena were making their WWE debuts and they went on to become the biggest stars of their era. Orton continues, admitting that he “respects” John Cena, but at the end of the day, Cena is still that “jacked-up punk kid who has no business in a WWE ring”. Orton then says that Cena can take his “hustle, loyalty, and respect” and shove it straight up his ass! Orton says that he will never care about fighting for what is right and he defeated Cena back at the Royal Rumble and he will beat Cena again this Sunday and he will “savor every second of it”. Orton is then interrupted by the arrival of his Hell in a Cell opponent as fifteen-time former World Champion John Cena makes his way to the ring. Cena says that everyone knows that Orton is “gifted”, but every time that Orton opens his mouth, he proves that he is the “biggest dumbass of all-time”. Cena says that 2002 was the last time that Orton was “relevant” before saying that, if he survives Hell in a Cell this Sunday, he gets what he wants, another shot at Brock Lesnar and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Cena then says that, this Sunday, Orton is facing the guy who runs the place and he is “taking hell” with him. The intense confrontation is then interrupted with the arrival of the advocate for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, who says that the class of 2002 also included a man who he personally signed, “The Next Big Thing” Brock Lesnar, who went on to defeat The Rock for the WWE Championship at that year’s SummerSlam. Heyman then points out that “The Beast” was WWE Champion in 2002 and, in 2014, Lesnar is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Now entering the ring, Paul Heyman says that Cena and Orton are going to enter Hell in a Cell as “equals”, but Brock Lesnar has “no equal”, saying that whoever wins this Sunday will ultimately be a “loser” because they will have to contend with “The Beast”. Heyman then confronts Randy Orton, saying that he has a lot of respect for Orton and he knows how much Orton wants to be champion again, but he knows that Orton wants “no part” of Brock Lesnar. Heyman then keeps Cena from exiting the ring, saying that, while Orton wants no part of Lesnar, Cena wants both the title and “The Beast”. Heyman continues, saying that he doesn’t know what Cena has on the brain, but it sure isn’t “sound thinking”, telling Cena that, if he somehow gets by Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell, then Cena will have to step into the ring with Heyman’s “challenger-eating carnivore” Brock Lesnar. Having heard enough, John Cena lifts Heyman up for the Attitude Adjustment, but thinks better of it, putting the advocate back down. However, Randy Orton spots his moment to strike as “The Viper” drops John Cena with the RKO! Seeing Cena laid out on the canvas puts a sinister smile on the face of Paul Heyman, but the smiling face of Heyman is soon planted firmly on the mat as Randy Orton hits Paul Heyman with an RKO as well, sending a strong message to not only his Hell in a Cell opponent, but WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar as well! With a rematch against Big Show this Sunday night at WWE Hell in a Cell, “The Hero of the Russian Federation” was in action on RAW as Rusev, with Lana in his corner, went one-on-one with Big E. Despite Big E’s best efforts, Rusev would again show his dominance, taking all of the punishment before blasting Big E with a side kick, locking in the Accolade and making Big E tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Rusev says that Big Show is going to “fail” his country and the fans will “despise” him for it. Lana then asks for everyone to stand and pay homage to the “true red, white, and blue”, signaling for the giant Russian flag to unfold behind them. However, the flag does not appear and Rusev & Lana immediately set their sights on a smiling Big Show on the big screen. Then, without a word, Big Show signals for the American flag to unfold above the ring as Old Glory hovers over the ring in all its glory. However, things then take a darker turn as Rusev puts his hands on the American flag, ready to pull the American flag down just as Big Show did to the Russian flag a few weeks ago, but a member of the United States military would let his passion and patriotism get the better of him as the fan manages to dodge security and make it into the ring. As a member of the security team restrains the soldier, Rusev does the unthinkable and assaults the soldier with a kick to the face! As Rusev & Lana exit the ring, security and WWE’s ringside physician tend to the fallen soldier, who appeared to be bleeding from the mouth as a result of the kick. After helping the soldier who was victimized by Rusev moments earlier to the back, a visibly emotional Big Show stands in the ring and, with the help of “USA” chants from the crowd, Big Show musters the ability to speak. Big Show says that there are certain lines that you do not cross, saying that you never attack an American soldier and saying that, if Rusev wants to get inside his head, his head is a very “dark” place and what Rusev just did is going to make him unleash his “wrath” on Rusev. Big Show continues, saying that he’s an American and he’s a giant and, at WWE Hell in a Cell, Rusev’s “fifteen minutes” in WWE is up! Big Show then exits the ring, but the passionate giant steps back into the ring, calling Rusev out to fight him right now. When the challenge goes unanswered, Big Show decides to march to the back and find Rusev himself. Moments later, with the aid of a stagehand, Big Show is able to find Rusev’s locker room, but after kicking the door down, Big Show finds nothing but an empty locker room. Before she faces her sister, Nikki, at WWE Hell in a Cell where the loser must become the winner’s personal assistant for 30 days, Brie Bella would go one-on-one with Sumemr Rae on RAW. In the end, it was Brie Bella hitting the Brie Buster on Summer Rae, pinning Summer for the win. As he prepares to make his first appearance inside Hell in a Cell against Seth Rollins at WWE Hell in a Cell, Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring with a huge bag hanging on his shoulders. Ambrose sets the bag down in the ring before picking up a microphone, saying that he will finally get his hands on Seth Rollins this Sunday night. “The Lunatic Fringe” then goes into the bag and produces a dummy made to look like Seth Rollins, awkwardly setting the dummy on a chair. Ambrose then says that Rollins never likes to get his hands dirty before ripping off half of the dummy’s arm and slapping the dummy doppelganger with the hand! Ambrose then proceeds to use a screwdriver and a hammer on the face of the dummy before using tongs to squeeze the non-existent dummy privates and drilling the dummy with a piledriver. With corporate stooges Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury by his side, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins comes out, saying that Ambrose could become a comedian. Ambrose responds to this by throwing the dummy’s hand at Seth Rollins as Rollins continues, saying that while he is a product of the Midwest, he knew that he was destined to become “somebody”, unlike all of the fans in Kansas City. Producing a power drill, Ambrose says that he has no problem giving Rollins a preview of Hell in a Cell tonight. However, Rollins says that he does not “sweat” Dean Ambrose and he does not “sweat” Hell in a Cell. Seth Rollins is then interrupted by a very special surprise guest as WWE Hall of Famer and one of the most infamous Hell in a Cell competitors of all-time, Mick Foley, makes his way to the ring! Foley says that he had to come by and visit an “old friend”, looking up at the Hell in a Cell structure. The Hall of Famer says that, while he does not appear all that often in a WWE ring, he has been watching for a while and, while he finds Ambrose “disturbingly poetic”, he sees Seth Rollins emerging from “almost any scenario” as the winner! Despite Foley predicting that Rollins would emerge victorious, it would not stop “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” from insulting the Hall of Famer, saying that, just when he thought that Foley was an “old dinosaur” who dresses up as Santa Clause and makes a “mockery” of everything he’s done in the ring, Foley still has some good thoughts in Foley’s “half-working brain”. However, Foley corrects Seth Rollins, saying that he said “almost any scenario” and Hell in a Cell is no “ordinary scenario”. Foley continues, saying that it’s the 300th consecutive day that he’s worn Santa Clause-themed attire, but he does it because he clings to the last remnants to his “innocence” that was not ripped away from him eighteen years ago when he faced The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell back in 1998, saying that it’s the “emotional wounds” that will not heal after enduring Hell in a Cell. Dean Ambrose tells Mick Foley that he lost his innocence a long time ago and he’s not worried about suffering any scars, either physical or psychological. Ambrose says that if there is one man that might just understand how ready Ambrose is for Hell in a Cell, it’s Mick Foley before telling Seth Rollins to ask himself if he’s ready. Seth Rollins says that he gets that they are both out of their mind, but he is going to beat Dean Ambrose the same way that he has defeated everyone else because it’s not about how “crazy” you are, it’s how “smart” you are. Foley says that he looks at his career as “pre-Cell” and “post-Cell” before saying that, this Sunday, Ambrose and Rollins get the match that they’ve been waiting for their “entire lives”. Mick Foley then exits the ring and Seth Rollins nearly dodges a charging Dean Ambrose, but Ambrose tosses the dummy Rollins at “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank”, Jamie Noble, & Joey Mercury, knocking all three men down before they scramble up the ramp. The Intercontinental Champion was in action on RAW as Dolph Ziggler went one-on-one with “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro in a non-title match. At the end of a highly competitive match, it was Cesaro catching Dolph Ziggler with the European uppercut, pinning the Intercontinental Champion for the win. After the match, Cesaro would send a message to Dolph Ziggler, planting the Intercontinental Champion with the Neutralizer. Then it was time for the main event as, six nights before they step inside Hell in a Cell for the double main event at WWE Hell in a Cell, John Cena would team with “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose to face “The Viper” Randy Orton, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins, & The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane in a 3-on-2 Handicap Street Fight, where there would be no disqualifications and no count-outs with the only way to win is by pinfall or submission in the ring. It would not take long for the lawless nature of the match to show itself as Dean Ambrose grabs a steel chair, attacking Seth Rollins with the chair. Ambrose then pulls a table out from under the ring, but is quickly attacked by Kane before the match regains control. Later on in the match, John Cena would grab a table from under the ring, setting the table up in the ring, but Seth Rollins would counter Cena’s attempt at the Attitude Adjustment, sending Cena head-first into the steel chair set up in the corner of the ring. On the outside, Kane and Randy Orton would focus on Dean Ambrose as Orton holds “The Lunatic Fringe” while Kane blasts Ambrose in the face with the steel steps! With The Authority in control, Seth Rollins sets up a table in the corner of the ring, but Cena fights out of the grasp of Rollins. Shortly after this, Cena finds himself on the outside and at the mercy of Kane & Orton, who send Cena into the steel steps before Kane brings Cena into the ring, tossing Cena through the table in the corner. Keeping Dean Ambrose out of the ring, the grand plan would then come together as Kane calls for the Hell in a Cell to be lowered! As the Cell lowers around the ring, Dean Ambrose slips inside the confines of the Cell and “The Lunatic Fringe” makes sure that Seth Rollins is the first to feel the cold steel as Ambrose delivers a dropkick to “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” that sends Rollins careening off of the ring apron and into the Cell wall! Ambrose then grabs a kendo stick, using the weapon to take Randy Orton down before grabbing a steel chair and using it for a sinister elbow drop on Orton. Kane then tries to stop Ambrose, but Ambrose uses the chair to take Kane out before tossing Orton to the outside. Rollins then charges at Ambrose, but Ambrose lifts Rollins up and over the top rope as Rollins is used to take Orton out. Ambrose then backs up and dives to the outside, taking Rollins out, but Orton is able to move out of the way of the move as “The Viper” brings Ambrose into the ring. However, John Cena would look for the Attitude Adjustment on Orton, but Orton would counter, shoving Cena right into Kane, who plants Cena with the chokeslam. Ambrose then spikes Kane with Dirty Deeds, but when Ambrose turns his focus back to Orton, “The Viper” is quick to strike, planting “The Lunatic Fringe” with the RKO, pinning Ambrose to pick up the win for The Authority in a punishing match. However, there would be no time for celebration for Randy Orton as, with “The Viper” in a vulnerable position, Seth Rollins would strike, planting Orton skull-first with the Curb Stomp, leaving Seth Rollins as the only man left standing as “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” stands atop the Hell in a Cell structure as the broken bodies of his teammates and rivals litter the ring!
