WWE: TV extras receiving less pay for their appearancesBy Cassidy| October 1, 2014 Wrestling News As WWE continues to cut costs throughout the company as a way to recoup losses over the expense and slow start of the WWE Network, the television extras that WWE hires locally are the latest to feel the cost-cutting measures. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE has cut the pay of extras from $250 per appearance to only $100 per appearance and, while local wrestlers typically reach out to WWE to get a one night stint as an extra, fewer and fewer wrestlers have been contacting WWE for these jobs since $100 is not enough to cover travel expenses for their appearances. WWE’s television extras mostly go unnoticed as the extras fill roles such as members of Adam Rose’s Exotic Express, WWE security, police officers, etc., but they are an important part of a lot of the segments that fans see on television. Unless WWE increases the pay of their extras or find a new source for one-off television talent, WWE may have to find a new way to fill the aforementioned roles.
