WWE: Employee who got Alberto Del Rio fired leaves WWEBy Cassidy| October 24, 2014 Wrestling News Back on August 7, WWE made the surprising announcement that they had come to terms on the release of former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio (Alberto Rodriguez) due to “unprofessional conduct”. We would later learn that the “unprofessional conduct” was Del Rio viciously slapping WWE’s Social Media Manager Cody Barbierri following an alleged racist comment/joke made by Barbierri and PWInsider.com is now reporting that Barbierri has left WWE for unknown reasons. Cody Barbierri had been with WWE for around two years and, in those two years, Barbierri had made an unfavorable reputation for himself and was not well-liked backstage according to rumours. Needless to say, Barbierri was never more disliked than he was after the alleged racist comment/joke about Alberto Del Rio and, after refusing to apologize to the former World Champion, Del Rio assaulted Barbierri and was released from WWE as a result. Whether or not this incident led to Cody Barbierri leaving the company has not yet been revealed, but WWE sources have confirmed that he is no longer WWE’s Social Media Manager and has left the company entirely.
