WWE SmackDown Results: September 5, 2014By Cassidy| September 5, 2014 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results Two weeks before he faces Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions, SmackDown kicks off with the former fifteen-time World Champion John Cena. Cena says that’s the match is made, so people should stop asking if the match should take place, saying that everyone, including the Authority, are looking at him like he’s some “fragile” old man who should just come down and do the “Queen’s wave”. Cena continues, saying that he is there because he wants to be the champion and the day that he no longer wants to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be the day he leaves and never comes back. Cena says that, since his return in 2012, Brock Lesnar has destroyed everything in his path and everything that Paul Heyman says about “The Beast” is true and, at Night of Champions, he will find his “resolve” and he will get his “redemption”. The #1 Contender is then interrupted by The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane and “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins as the two corporate suits make fun of John Cena, saying that he is having a “mid-career crisis” and Cena is “overcompensating”. Cena insults both Kane and Rollins, which prompts Kane to remind Cena that he is in a “position of power”, telling Cena to watch his tone. Roman Reigns then makes his way through the crowd, joining John Cena in the ring. Roman says that, this Monday night on RAW, he is going to finish his business with Randy Orton and, since Orton is not in the arena tonight, he would love nothing more than to get his hands on Kane & Seth Rollins tonight. Cena says that he and the University of Nebraska can “believe that”. Kane & Rollins laugh at Cena & Reigns, saying that, just when they think that they have The Authority pinned down, they are “ten steps ahead” of them. With this, The Wyatt Family appears in front of Kane & Rollins, but it is not long before Chris Jericho enters the arena with some huge backup in tow in the form of Big Show & Mark Henry! With a fight ready to break out between all ten of these men, WWE COO Triple H comes out to settle things down as the COO says that, no matter how much you love your job, there are just some things that are a “burden” to do. Triple H then says that he is out there to do his “busy work” before doing his best impersonation of former SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, making a huge 10-Man Tag Match for the main event, pitting the team of John Cena, Roman Reigns, Big Show, Mark Henry, & Chris Jericho against Kane, Seth Rollins, & The Wyatt Family! The COO then concludes with a “holla” before exiting to Theodore Long’s theme song. With a title defense against The Miz coming up at Night of Champions, the opening match of the night would see Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler going one-on-one with the #1 Contender for the United States Title at Night of Champions, Cesaro, in a non-title match with United States Champion Sheamus a guest on commentary. In the end, it was Dolph Ziggler surprising Cesaro with a roll-up, scoring the win. After the match, a disgruntled Cesaro would blindside the Intercontinental Champion, attempting to beat down Ziggler before Sheamus would make the save, leading to a war of words between Sheamus and Cesaro. Sheamus would then toss the United States Title belt to Cesaro, distracting the #1 Contender long enough for Sheamus to hit the Brogue Kick on Cesaro as Sheamus leaves with his title belt while Cesaro is left looking up at the lights. With his brother, Jey Uso, having to walk with the aid of a crutch due to his injured knee, WWE Tag Team Champion Jimmy Uso would go one-on-one with Heath Slater, with Titus O’Neil in his corner. During the match, Titus O’Neil would get on the ring apron and Jey Uso would use his crutch to distract Titus while his brother, Jimmy, knocks Titus off of the apron with a super kick. Shortly after this, Jimmy Uso would catch Heath Slater with a super kick, following it up with the Superfly Splash, pinning Slater for the win. After being challenged by Mark Henry on RAW, “The Hero of the Russian Federation” Rusev would appear on SmackDown with Lana by his side. Lana says that they call the Midwest, “America’s Heartland”, saying that America has “no heart”, but even if they did, it would be “made in China”. Lana continues, saying that America has “passed its prime time” just like Mark Henry. Lana then says that the “heart of the world” lies in Russian leader Vladimir Putin before the Russian flag unrolls behind Rusev & Lana. Lana is then interrupted by the arrival of “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, saying that Lana talks too much and that Rusev & Lana are showing their “true colors” and they are not the colors on that Russian flag. Mark Henry then asks Rusev if he is going to accept his challenge or if Rusev is going to keep hiding behind a woman that looks like an “escort”! Lana tells the fans to shut up before saying that they will show their “superiority” when Rusev beats Mark Henry at Night of Champions! With the challenge accepted, Mark Henry guarantees that he will give Rusev a “red, white, and blue ass-whooping” at Night of Champions! With both challengers for the Divas Title, AJ Lee and Nikki Bella, seated at ringside, Divas Champion Paige would go one-on-one with Brie Bella in a non-title match. During the match, AJ Lee would take it upon herself to confront Nikki Bella, which leads to AJ Lee assaulting Nikki. Strangely enough, it is Brie Bella who breaks up the fight, taking her focus off of the match to pull AJ Lee off of Nikki. Brie then has a few moments of confusion before getting back into the ring, but walks aright into the Ram Paige as Paige pins Brie to pick up the win. The self-proclaimed “inspiration” was in action on SmackDown as Bo Dallas went one-on-one with Zack Ryder. In an easy victory, it was Bo Dallas hitting the Bo Dog on Zack Ryder, pinning Ryder for the win. After the match, Bo Dallas says that, since they all live in Nebraska, then something terrible has happened to them. Bo is then interrupted by “The Real American” Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter as Swagger makes a beeline for the ring, attacking Bo Dallas, but Dallas is briefly able to mount a comeback by attacking the injured ribs of Swagger. However, Swagger regains the advantage, nearly locking in the Patriot Lock on Bo Dallas, who slips out of the Patriot Lock, but gets caught with a big boot before Bo makes a quick exit. Zeb Colter then asks the fans to stand up, put their hands over their hearts, and join them in saying “we the people”. Then it was time for the huge main event as the #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, John Cena, would team with “The Juggernaut” Roman Reigns, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, and “Y2J” Chris Jericho to face the team of The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins, and The Wyatt Family in a 10-Man Tag Match! At the end of a wild 10-Man Tag Match, it would come down to John Cena and Seth Rollins, but when Cena locks in the STF on “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank”, all three members of The Wyatt Family attack Cena, leaving the referee no choice but to call for the disqualification. After the match, the ten-man melee would continue between the two sides, but when Chris Jericho hits the Codebreaker on Bray Wyatt, the tide begins to turn. Big Show then hits the chokeslam on Luke Harper while Mark Henry delivers the World’s Strongest Slam to Erick Rowan before Roman Reigns takes Kane out with the Spear. Finally, John Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment on Seth Rollins, leaving John Cena, Roman Reigns, Big Show, Mark Henry, & Chris Jericho standing tall in the ring!
