WWE RAW Results: September 22, 2014By Cassidy| September 23, 2014 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After his surprise return at Night of Champions, attacking Seth Rollins, RAW kicks off with “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose as Ambrose proclaims that he is “not dead”, saying that he is far from it. Ambrose says that he can appreciate the “creativity” of using cinder blocks to take him out, saying that he is “flattered” that The Authority went to such lengths to try and take him out. Ambrose continues, saying that, tonight, he is the “authority” and he is not leaving the ring until he gets Seth Rollins because he never gets tired of punching “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” in the face. Ambrose then grabs a steel chair, setting it up in the middle of the ring and taking a seat. However, the Superstar that Dean Ambrose got was another man who has a bone to pick with Seth Rollins as John Cena makes his way to the ring. Folding up the chair and sliding it out of the ring, Dean Ambrose says that he does not like the fact that Cena is standing in the ring with him right now, telling Cena to not give him a reason to dislike Cena. Cena tells Ambrose that they have a “similar agenda”, saying that he had Brock Lesnar beat at Night of Champions until Seth Rollins showed up. Cena says that he should be holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship right now, but he’s not and he’s “cashing in” tonight, saying he’s going to cash in his “ass-kicking-in-a-bank contract” on Seth Rollins and “no one” is going to stop him! Dean Ambrose says that he warned Cena to not get in his way, but as both men prepare for battle, they are interrupted by the arrival of The Authority as WWE COO Triple H, WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, Director of Operations Kane, “The Viper” Randy Orton, and “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins all make their way to the stage. Triple H informs Cena and Ambrose that Seth Rollins will not be fighting anyone tonight, but Cena and Ambrose will. Before Triple H can finish his announcement, John Cena says that he is just going to get Rollins himself! With that, Cena and Ambrose hop out of the ring and make a beeline for The Authority as Cena and Ambrose brawl with Kane and Randy Orton, but they quickly change focus, heading towards the ring where Seth Rollins escaped to. Rollins quickly hops out of the ring and, while Randy Orton keeps Cena at bay, Ambrose pulls away from The Authority, chasing Rollins through the crowd as Rollins runs all the way to the back with Ambrose not far behind! Confused amongst the chaos, Triple H & Stephanie look around for John Cena and Dean Ambrose before calling for Kane and Randy Orton to exit the ring. Meanwhile, in the backstage area, Ambrose had caught up to Rollins and was beginning his beat-down when John Cena joins the fray. However, the ever slippery Seth Rollins manages to escape Cena and Ambrose, shoving someone out of the way in the parking lot and stealing the man’s vehicle, speeding out of the arena, just barely escaping Cena and Ambrose, the latter of which falls out of the back of the vehicle, trying to stop Rollins! Backstage, an irate Kane and Randy Orton are confronted by Triple H & Stephanie McMahon as Triple H informs them that, tonight, Kane will go one-on-one with Dean Ambrose while Randy Orton will go one-on-one with John Cena. Kane asks why they have to be the ones to take care of Cena and Ambrose and Stephanie explains that Seth Rollins is no longer in the arena and they thought that they would want some “retribution”. While Kane walks away apparently satisfied with this answer, Randy Orton tells Triple H & Stephanie to tell Seth Rollins to not “start fires” that Orton and Kane have to “put out”. With his stunt double, Damien Mizdow, carrying a cheap replica of the title, the brand new Intercontinental Champion, The Miz, would defend the newly won Intercontinental Championship against the former champion, Dolph Ziggler, on RAW! During the match, Dolph Ziggler would take Damien Mizdow out on the outside, but The Miz would still take advantage, hitting the Skull Crushing Finale on Ziggler, but Dolph would kick out! A few moments later, Dolph would hit the Famouser on The Miz, but Miz would kick out. In what looked to be a repeat of what happened at Night of Champions, Damien Mizdow would get on the ring apron and would get dropped with a super kick, but The Miz would roll Dolph Ziggler up and hook the tights, but, this time, Dolph would reverse the roll-up, hooking the tights of The Miz and scoring the three-count to become the brand new Intercontinental Champion less than twenty-four hours after losing the title! With one win a piece in their rivalry, RAW would feature the rubber match as the self-proclaimed “inspiration”, Bo Dallas, would go one-on-one with “The Real American” Jack Swagger, with Zeb Colter in his corner. In the end, it was Jack Swagger locking in the Patriot Lock, making Bo Dallas tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Zeb Colter would tell Bo Dallas that he “bo-lieves” that Jack Swagger just made Bo tap out. In Divas action, Total Divas stars would face off as Summer Rae, with Layla in her corner, would go one-on-one with Natalya, with Rosa Mendes in her corner. In the end, it was Natalya locking in the Sharpshooter on Summer Rae, making Summer tap out to pick up the win. In a match made earlier in the night by Triple H, Dean Ambrose would compete on RAW for the first time in over a month as “The Lunatic Fringe” would go one-on-one with The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane. At the end of the match, Dean Ambrose would hit Dirty Deeds on Kane, but that is when Seth Rollins would re-emerge, attacking Ambrose for the disqualification. After the match, Ambrose would fight back against Rollins, knocking Rollins out of the ring, but when Ambrose goes to dive out of the ring, Kane catches Ambrose with a right hand to the face, following it up with a chokeslam in the center of the ring. “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” would then have second thoughts, heading towards the ring to prey on Ambrose, but Ambrose would get back to his feet, grabbing a steel chair, making Rollins back off as “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” backs away from the ring with a smile on his face. Backstage, Triple H confronts Kane and Seth Rollins, telling Rollins that he needs to stop “setting fires”, but before Triple H could elaborate, Dean Ambrose emerges, attacking Seth Rollins. However, agents and security are quick to restrain Dean Ambrose as Triple H orders them to throw Ambrose out of the building, but Stephanie McMahon enters, ordering security to lock Ambrose in a nearby room. Security listens to the Principal Owner’s idea and Ambrose is successfully locked in the room as Stephanie explains to her husband that, every time they try to throw someone out of the arena, they always come back, saying that at least they know where Ambrose is at now. Triple H then orders security to stand guard outside the room and the barricade of men stands firmly in place. In 6-Man Tag action, United States Champion Sheamus would team with The Usos to face Cesaro and the new WWE Tag Team Champions, Gold & Stardust, on RAW. At the end of a wild 6-Man Tag match, it was Jey Uso hitting the Superfly Splash on Goldust, pinning the tag champion to pick up the win for his team. Backstage, Seth Rollins confronts Randy Orton, saying that he wants to express his “gratitude” to Orton for going through with the scheduled match against John Cena as Rollins explains that he will have a “surprise” for Orton at ringside, plus he and Kane will be out there at ringside, as well. After his crushing defeat at the hands of Rusev at Night of Champions, a visibly upset Mark Henry would appear on RAW. Henry says that he is out there to apologize to the fans for letting them down, saying that he deserves to be picked on by them. Henry then says that he is sorry for letting the fans down and for letting America down. The emotional address is then interrupted by Rusev & Lana as Lana says that Mark Henry does not need to apologize because the rest of America is so “pathetic” and “apologetic” just like Mark Henry. Lana continues, saying that the Russian people are “proud” people and she knows that the fans in Memphis want to see a rematch between Rusev and Mark Henry. Henry says that, if the fans want to see him “destroy” Rusev tonight, then he will do it! In an impromptu rematch from Night of Champions, Mark Henry would get a shot at redemption as “The World’s Strongest Man” would represent America against “The Hero of the Russian Federation” Rusev, with Lana in his corner. Throughout the match, the story of the match would become the deteriorated state of Mark Henry as the injuries suffered by Mark Henry at Night of Champions would hobble and slow “The World’s Strongest Man”. However, Mark Henry would do his best to fight through the pain, managing to mount an impressive offense against Rusev before Rusev pulls Henry off of the middle rope and Rusev would not even wait to see if Mark Henry could continue before locking in the Accolade. While Mark Henry would not tap out in the hold, “The World’s Strongest Man” would pass out, leaving the referee no choice but to call for the bell as Rusev picks up the win. As Rusev & Lana celebrate the victory, the referee calls for WWE’s ringside doctor to tend to Mark Henry as the doctor is able to get Mark Henry to slowly regain consciousness. In one of the most ridiculous matches in recent memory on RAW, the leader of The Exotic Express, Adam Rose, would team with The Exotic Express’ resident bunny to face Heath Slater & Titus O’Neil. In the end, it was Adam Rose hitting the Party Foul on Heath Slater, pinning Slater to pick up the win for himself and the bunny. After failing to win the Divas Title in a Triple Threat Match against Paige and AJ Lee at Night of Champions, Nikki Bella would make an appearance on RAW. Nikki says that a lot of people have excuses for why they didn’t win at Night of Champions, but she has a legitimate excuse. Nikki explains that what Brie Bella said about her at Night of Champions had caused her to lose her match before Nikki calls her sister, Brie, to the ring. Brie obliges, making her way to the ring to confront her sister, telling Nikki that it is just like her to be out there blaming her problems on everyone else. Nikki says that this is not about her loss, it’s about how Brie has always made it about her, but Brie argues that Nikki is the one who keeps bringing her out there to insult her. Nikki asks Brie what she is going to do, saying that she is an “embarrassment” to the Bella name and telling her sister that she does not deserve to be called a Bella, saying that Brie deserves to be called “Nikki’s trashy sister” or, better yet, a “quitter”. Nikki Bella then shows just how big her ego truly is by saying that she wants the Bella name to be exclusive to her, saying that, from now on, she wants to become known as “The Nikki Bella”! Brie argues that the Bella name is just as much hers as it is Nikki’s and Nikki fires back, saying that Brie got married a few months ago, asking her sister why she didn’t take Daniel Bryan’s last name. Nikki continues, asking Brie if she has “buyer’s remorse”, saying that Brie regrets marrying an “ugly, broken-down, beaten-up troll”. Having heard enough, Brie Bella slaps Nikki Bella across the face, attempting to lock in the Yes Lock, but Nikki Bella scrambles to get away, narrowly escaping her sister as the new Divas Champion, AJ Lee, skips to the ring for her scheduled match against Nikki Bella. Moments after being slapped across the face by her sister, Brie, Nikki Bella was in action on RAW as Nikki would go one-on-one with the new Divas Champion, AJ Lee, in a non-title match with former champion Paige a guest on commentary. During the match, the fight would spill to the outside where Nikki Bella intentionally tosses AJ Lee into Paige before bringing the Divas Champion back into the ring. Even though Nikki Bella would dominate much of the match, AJ Lee would manage to lock in the Black Widow on Nikki Bella, making Nikki tap out to pick up the win. With Kane & Seth Rollins at ringside with the promise of a “surprise” for Randy Orton, “The Viper” Randy Orton would go one-on-one with the fifteen-time former World Champion and an old rival in John Cena. In the end, John Cena would lock in the STF on Randy Orton, but Kane and Seth Rollins would hit the ring, attacking Cena for the disqualification. After the match, Randy Orton would join Kane and Seth Rollins for a three-on-one assault on John Cena with a brief flurry by Cena halted by Seth Rollins before Kane plants Cena with a chokeslam. The trio then brings John Cena to the outside, but when Kane moves the box that was supposed to have a stack of cinder blocks under it, Kane instead finds a waiting Dean Ambrose! Ambrose tackles Seth Rollins on the announce table, but when Kane and Randy Orton pull Ambrose off of Rollins, Ambrose fights back, sending Orton into the steel ring post and pummeling Kane. Ambrose then knocks Orton down again before focusing on Kane, climbing the announce table and diving off the table, taking all three men out! Ambrose then brings Rollins into the ring where Ambrose gets a couple of shots in before Kane comes back in, but before Kane can deliver a chokeslam to Ambrose, John Cena re-enters the fray, knocking Seth Rollins out of the ring and putting the focus on himself. Orton then comes back in and is immediately attacked by Ambrose as Cena escapes the grasp of Kane. As Seth Rollins escapes through the crowd, Dean Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds on Randy Orton while John Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment on Kane! Cena and Ambrose then set their sights on Seth Rollins in the crowd, letting “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” know that they will get their hands on sooner or later. What did you think of this week’s RAW?
