WWE RAW Results: September 1, 2014By Cassidy| September 2, 2014 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with Chris Jericho in the ring as “Y2J” presents his volatile talk show segment, The Highlight Reel. After welcoming everyone to “RAW is Jericho”, Jericho says that his guest tonight is a man who hasn’t had to work a day in his life and a man who has had everything handed to him throughout his career. However, before Jericho could introduce his guest, Randy Orton, he is interrupted by the arrival of The Authority as WWE COO Triple H, Director of Operations Kane, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins, and “The Viper” Randy Orton all make their way to the ring! Despite the power of the group standing before him, Jericho does not back down, saying that he expected Randy Orton to come out there alone, not with his “law firm of sellout, suck-up, and schnoz”! Kane begins to reprimand Jericho, but Triple H steps in, saying that “Y2J” is a man that “never grew up”, saying that he means that both “figuratively and literally”. The COO continues, saying that he would love nothing more than to swap words with Jericho, but he’s got “important business” to attend to. Never one to be speechless, Jericho comments that Triple H usually only conducts important business when his wife is being arrested and sent to jail! Triple H the comments on Jericho’s scarf, calling it a “treasure trove”, but Jericho quickly retorts with a comment about Triple H’s pink tie and the COO claims that it’s “violet”. Triple H says that Jericho should be thanking him for making this Highlight Reel the “most historic” Highlight Reel in history, saying that he has been reviewing the match at SummerSlam between Brock Lesnar and John Cena, saying that it might not be “best for business” for Cena and Lesnar to have a rematch at Night of Champions. Triple H then says that he is “contemplating” naming a new #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! Jericho immediately asks who Triple H is looking at as the new #1 Contender, which is when Randy Orton jumps in, saying that there is only one man who can beat Brock Lesnar and it is a twelve-time former World Champion, a third-generation competitor, and the most “vicious” Superstar in the locker room, adding that he has “earned” everything in his career. Kane then says that maybe the #1 Contender should be a man who digs up a “certain mask” and unleashes a “demon” on “The Beast”. Iowa’s own Seth Rollins then comments, saying that maybe the “future” has already arrived in the form of “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” himself, saying that he did take out Dean Ambrose and he has become one of the “most intelligent and dangerous” Superstars in the locker room. Jericho then says that maybe Triple H should give the title shot to a six-time former World Champion and the first Undisputed Champion in WWE history in Chris Jericho. However, The Highlight Reel is then interrupted by a visibly frustrated John Cena, who marches straight to the ring, saying that, just because Triple H’s “best friends” Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels think that he cannot beat Brock Lesnar does not mean that he cannot win. Cena says that those same two men thought that he couldn’t beat Triple H at WrestleMania 22, but he made “The Game” tap out. Cena says that Triple H is the COO and he authorized the rematch for Night of Champions, so if Triple H takes his rematch away, then he will take Triple H to court and he will become the new COO and his first order of business would be to fire Triple H! Cena tells the COO that the rematch is going to happen and he is going to “beat Brock Lesnar’s ass” at Night of Champions. Triple H says that Cena needs a new t-shirt that says “hustle, loyalty, respect, lawsuit”, saying that Cena might be “small-minded” like the fans, but he knows what his job is and, no matter what, he does what is “best for business” for WWE every single day. Triple H continues, saying that he no longer thinks that John Cena as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is what is best for business, but he also knows that Cena’s career ending at the hands of Brock Lesnar is “not good for business at all”. Seth Rollins then chimes in, saying that Cena and Lesnar should have the rematch because, if the opportunity presents itself, there’s always “plan B”. Randy Orton agrees, saying that Cena should have his rematch, but he should automatically get a title shot against the winner, asking whatever happened to his rematch from WrestleMania. Jericho then joins back in on the conversation, saying that, since WrestleMania, Orton has had countless title matches and has had no success. Jericho then says that the last big match that he saw Orton in ended with Roman Reigns blasting him with a Spear and pinning him at SummerSlam. “The Viper” says that Roman’s win at SummerSlam meant “nothing” and if Reigns was in the ring right now, he would drop Roman where he stands. Orton then says that, if Jericho wants to make a “joke” out of him, then Jericho is not going to like the “punchline”. Roman Reigns then crashes The Highlight Reel, joining an already packed ring to confront Randy Orton. Roman tells “The Viper” that he is right there, daring Orton to “drop” him. However, Orton does not make a move and Roman says that Orton is “all talk” before saying that Kane & Seth Rollins are probably still mad about him breaking up their “eulogy” for Dean Ambrose last week, asking if Rollins is still mad about him almost crushing his skull with a cinder block. Roman lets Seth Rollins know that they have unfinished business before saying that, if they are discussing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, then his name belongs in the mix. Triple H says that everyone in the ring feels like they are worthy of taking the title match at Night of Champions, saying that Cena thinks that he has proven his “resolve” before saying that he is going to give everyone in the ring the opportunity to “prove” that they deserve a title shot, announcing that, tonight, the team of John Cena, Roman Reigns, & Chris Jericho will face the team of Randy Orton, Kane, & Seth Rollins. Triple H then says that he will be at ringside for the match and he will be watching to see who can prove that they deserve a title match. The Authority then leaves the ring, but Seth Rollins tries to cheap-shot Roman Reigns with the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase and Roman dodges the shot, blasting Rollins with an uppercut that sends Rollins out of the ring before tossing the briefcase at “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank”. After escaping the Brogue Kick of Sheamus on SmackDown, The Miz’s “moneymaker” would be in jeopardy on RAW as the self-proclaimed “A-Lister”, with his stunt double Damien Mizdow and his makeup artist (independent wrestler “Crazy” Mary Dobson) in his corner, would team with Cesaro to face Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler and United States Champion Sheamus in tag team action. During the match, The Miz would send his stunt double into the ring as Damien Mizdow distracts Dolph Ziggler long enough for The Miz to take advantage, hitting the Skull Crushing Finale on the Intercontinental Champion, picking up the win for himself and Cesaro. In 6-Diva Tag action, Layla would team with Naomi and Summer Rae to face Eva Marie, Cameron, & Rosa Mendes. The match would quickly descend into a brawl and the referee calls for the bell. The brawl then concludes with Naomi taking Cameron out with the Rear View before Layla & Summer Rae take Eva Marie & Rosa Mendes out as Layla, Naomi, & Summer Rae stand tall in the ring. In their continuing rivalry, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show and “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry would face The Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper & Erick Rowan in tag team action on RAW. During the match, a recent rival of Mark Henry’s would make his way to ringside as Rusev, with Lana by his side, watches from ringside. The intense tag team match would break down with Big Show and Erick Rowan brawling on the outside, leaving Mark Henry and Luke Harper in the ring, but when Mark Henry lifts Harper up for the World’s Strongest Slam, Rusev enters the ring, blasting Mark Henry with a huge kick to the face, ending the match via disqualification! After the match, Rusev would exit the ring as Big Show enters the ring, followed by Luke Harper with a steel chair. However, Big Show would knock the chair right out of Harper’s hands, scaring Harper out of the ring. Big Show then picks up the chair, daring Erick Rowan to come into the ring and fight him, but Erick Rowan retreats as well as Big Show stands over Mark Henry with steel chair in hand before helping Mark Henry to his feet. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, then makes an appearance on RAW as Heyman says that Lesnar “emasculated” John Cena at SummerSlam, saying that Cena was “stripped of his manhood”. Heyman continues, saying that Triple H sees John Cena as a “cash cow” and Cena will be “milked for the last time” at Night of Champions, saying that they can stack the entire locker room and multiply it by “infinity” and it will not even equal half of the devastation that awaits John Cena at Night of Champions. With Zeb Colter back in his corner, “The Real American” Jack Swagger would face Curtis Axel on RAW. During the match, Bo Dallas would come out to the stage as three chairs are set up in the ring as three unidentified people take their seats. Despite the unusual proceedings on the stage, Jack Swagger would hold his focus, making Curtis Axel tap out to the Patriot Lock to pick up the win. After the match, Bo Dallas says that, at SummerSlam, Jack Swagger disappointed 318 million Americans with his loss to Rusev, revealing that the three people on the stage are of those 318 million. Bo first introduces Richie, saying that the farmer bet an entire month’s salary on Swagger winning at SummerSlam and he doubled down on Swagger’s rematches with Rusev. Dallas says that Richie’s savings account is now depleted and the government is going to take his farm away. Bo then introduces Angelo, saying that he is an up-and-coming tailor who has recently relocated to America. Bo then says that, because of Swagger’s loss, Angelo failed his citizenship test and is now going to be deported back to Italy. Finally, Dallas introduces Jennifer, whose son, Stewart, was Swagger’s “biggest fan”, but after SummerSlam, Stewart now wants to be like Vladmir Putin. Bo then says that they can turn it all around and Jack Swagger can turn it around too, asking Richie, Angelo, & Jennifer to stand and put their hands over their hearts and declare that they “bo-lieve”. “The Exotic Express” would make an appearance on RAW as Adam Rose would go one-on-one with Titus O’Neil, with Heath Slater in his corner. During the match, The Exotic Express’ bunny would taunt Heath Slater at ringside and Slater would slap the bunny down. However, the bunny would fight back, pummeling Heath Slater and distracting Titus O’Neil long enough for Adam Rose to roll Titus up for the win. After the match, the bunny would instruct Adam Rose to toss Heath Slater into the steel steps and, together, Rose and the bunny would do just that. As Titus O’Neil laughs at his tag team partner, Adam Rose and the bunny re-join The Exotic Express. After attacking Mark Henry earlier in the night, Rusev was in action on RAW as “The Hero of the Russian Federation”, with Lana in his corner, would face Zack Ryder. It was an easy victory for Rusev as the burly Russian patriot makes Zack Ryder tap out to the Accolade to pick up the win. After the match, Mark Henry would make a beeline to the ring with revenge on his mind, but Rusev would quickly hop out of the ring, retreating from “The World’s Strongest Man”. Mark Henry then asks Rusev why he is running, saying that he is “scared” of what he will do when he gets his hands on Rusev, saying that he is “The World’s Strongest Man” in the world’s strongest country. Henry then says that Rusev thinks that he is “invincible” because he is undefeated, saying that he is opening an “international wing” in the Hall of Pain just for Rusev. Following a backstage conversation with her husband, Triple H, regarding the situation between Brie Bella and Nikki Bella, WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon would make her way to the ring with the promise of a big announcement. Stephanie says that she is one of the most “powerful women” in the world, commending Nikki Bella on telling her side of the story regarding her sister, Brie. Stephanie then asks Nikki Bella to join her in the ring and Nikki complies, making her way to the ring. After greeting the Principal Owner, Nikki says that it feels so good to have someone support her before Stephanie says that the fans understand what it is like to be in the “shadow” of people greater than them. Stephanie then says that Brie continues to take the “spotlight” away from Nikki, saying that she is “proud” of Nikki Bella. Stephanie continues, saying that Brie is “self-centered”, but Nikki is “empowered” and Nikki is the “face of the Divas division” that she is looking for. The Principal Owner then grants Nikki Bella a shot at the Divas Championship! Brie Bella then interrupts, saying that this has nothing to do with Stephanie and it’s between her and Nikki. Brie then asks if Nikki did all of this just for a Divas Title match and Nikki says that she did it for her before saying that she sees right through Brie, saying that, someday, Daniel Bryan will see it too and he will “divorce” Brie. Nikki continues, saying that she is going to be the Divas Champion and she will be the only Bella that anyone will be talking about while Brie will become nothing but a “memory”. The face-off in the ring then takes an interesting turn with the arrival of AJ Lee, who says that she doesn’t know if Stephanie and her husband understand the concept of a #1 Contender, but there is only supposed to be one contender and, since she has yet to receive her rematch for the Divas Title, that one contender is her. AJ then says that she does not “play well with others”, suggesting that The Bella Twins sort out their issues on their own and Stephanie should leave the Divas Title to her. However, before the Principal Owner could comment, she is interrupted by the Divas Champion, Paige, who says that all this talk over the title is meaningless without the champion. Nikki Bella then brings the issue back to herself and her sister, telling Brie that she will “forgive” her, but only if Brie “sacrifices” for her like she has sacrificed for Brie, asking Brie to quit! Nikki then tells Brie to stay at home with her husband and never, ever come back, saying that if Brie cares about her as a sister, then she will leave. Brie then starts to leave the ring as Nikki shouts at Brie that she is such a “quitter” and, if she loves Nikki, she will leave. Having heard enough, Brie shoves Nikki right into Paige as both Divas take a fall. Brie then storms out of the ring as AJ Lee picks up the Divas Title and briefly skips around in the ring with the belt before she is stopped by Stephanie McMahon, who orders AJ to hand over the Divas Title belt. With a smile on her face, AJ hands the belt to Stephanie and, after an intense stare-down, AJ Lee leaves the ring, skipping away. The Principal Owner then hands the Divas Title back to its rightful owner, Paige, who exits the ring, clutching the Divas Title. Following back-to-back attacks from Gold & Stardust last week, one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Jimmy Uso, with his hobbled brother Jey in his corner, would go one-on-one with Goldust, with Stardust in his corner. Much like on SmackDown, Goldust would try to apologize for Gold & Stardust’s actions, but The Usos would not take the bait a second time, attacking Gold & Stardust before order is restored and the match gets underway. During the match, Stardust would save his brother from defeat by putting Goldust’s foot on the bottom rope during a pin. Jey Uso would then try to take Stardust out, but Stardust would kick the injured Uso in the mid-section before Jimmy Uso takes his eye off of the match to take Stardust down on the outside. Goldust would then take advantage, hitting the Final Cut on Jimmy in the ring, pinning Jimmy for the win. After the match, Gold & Stardust would focus on the injured Jey Uso, positing Jey in the corner of the ring as Stardust grabs a steel chair, crushing Jey’s knee between the chair and the ring post! WWE’s ringside doctor then rushes to the side of Jey Uso as Jimmy Uso also checks on his brother. With WWE COO Triple H & WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon seated at ringside, it was then time for the main event as the #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Night of Champions, John Cena, would team with Roman Reigns and Chris Jericho to face “The Viper” Randy Orton, Director of Operations Kane, and “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins in a huge 6-Man Tag Match. During the chaotic match, it was Randy Orton saving Seth Rollins from having to tap out to the Walls of Jericho, attacking Jericho. However, Roman Reigns would enter the fray with a Superman Punch to “The Viper”, following by Kane delivering a chokeslam to Roman Reigns. John Cena then plants Kane with the Attitude Adjustment before Seth Rollins takes Cena out with a diving knee off of the top rope and the match continues. At the end of the match, John Cena would look right at Triple H & Stephanie as he delivers the Attitude Adjustment to Kane. Cena then decides to tag Roman Reigns in as Roman hits the Spear on Kane, pinning the Director of Operations to pick up the win for his team. After the match, John Cena would get in the face of Triple H and, when Seth Rollins tries to attack Cena, Cena grabs “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” and, without taking his eyes off of the COO, Cena delivers the Attitude Adjustment to Seth Rollins on the announce table! John Cena then joins Roman Reigns and Chris Jericho in the ring as the trio celebrates their main event victory. What did you think of this week’s RAW? Post your comments in the box below.
