WWE RAW Results: August 4, 2014By Cassidy| August 5, 2014 WWE Raw Bella Beatdown. Thirteen nights before SummerSlam, the 1106th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the Frank Erwin Center at UT Austin in Austin, TX. After laying down the challenge to Roman Reigns on SmackDown to a one-on-one match at SummerSlam, the clash between “The Viper” and “The Juggernaut” has been made official for “The Biggest Event of the Summer”, but after Randy Orton’s vicious assault on Roman Reigns on last week’s RAW, Reigns will no doubt be looking for payback against his SummerSlam opponent. Will RAW be host to an all-out brawl between these two intense Superstars? This past Friday on SmackDown, Chris Jericho defeated The Wyatt Family’s Erick Rowan in a one-on-one match and, as a result, Erick Rowan will be banned from ringside when “Y2J” faces Bray Wyatt in two weeks at SummerSlam! With one member of The Wyatt Family out of the equation for SummerSlam, will Chris Jericho get the opportunity to even the odds further by banishing Luke Harper from ringside as well? One week removed from accepting a match against the newly reinstated Brie Bella at SummerSlam and engaging in a knock-down, drag-out brawl with the persistent thorn in her side, what will WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon have in store for Brie Bella on RAW? Will Brie continue to suffer or will Stephanie take her vengeance out on Brie’s sister, Nikki? Match Results Last Man Standing Match: Roman Reigns def. Kane Mark Henry def. Detailed Results With SummerSlam less than two weeks away, RAW kicks off with the entire Authority as WWE COO Triple H, WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins, “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” Kane, and “The Viper” Randy Orton make their way to the ring. Triple H says that they are less than two weeks away from SummerSlam, saying that this year’s SummerSlam card could be the “biggest in history”. Triple H then reveals that Seth Rollins will face Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam before saying that Seth Rollins proposed an interesting idea to him before announcing that, tonight, Ambrose and Rollins will compete in the Beat The Clock Challenge and, whoever wins that challenge, will get to choose the stipulation for their match at SummerSlam! The COO continues, saying that Dean Ambrose will face Alberto Del Rio tonight while Seth Rollins will go one-on-one with Rob Van Dam. Stephanie McMahon then says that, tonight, they will have the official contract signing for her match against Brie Bella at SummerSlam, vowing that, if Brie gets out of line, she will slap her so hard that she will end up in a hospital bed right next to her husband, Daniel Bryan! Randy Orton then says that the best part of SummerSlam will be his continued “decimation” of Roman Reigns, explaining that Reigns took his title shot away from him, saying that what he did last week was “only a taste”. This brings Roman Reigns out, who stands in the crowd, telling Randy Orton that he took everything that Orton had to dish out last week and he is still standing there. Roman then says that he is going to come down there and beat Orton’s ass “for free”! This fires Randy Orton up, but Triple H tells “The Viper” to wait for SummerSlam before saying that Roman Reigns will go one-on-one with Kane tonight in a Last Man Standing Match and that match starts right now! In an impromptu match made by WWE COO Triple H, the opening match of the night would see Roman Reigns going one-on-one with “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” Kane in a Last Man Standing Match, where the only way to win is to keep your opponent down for a full ten-count! Roman Reigns would take the fight to Kane early on, but Kane would battle back on the outside, sending Reigns shoulder-first into the steel steps. Kane then places the larger bottom half of the steel steps vertically on the ramp, but Roman mounts a comeback, tossing “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” into the ringside barricade. Kane would make it back to his feet before tossing Reigns into the barricade and grabbing a kendo stick, wearing out the mid-section of Roman Reigns with the weapon. Kane then grabs the top half of the steel steps, blasting Roman Reigns in the face with the steps! Roman still manages to climb to his feet before the count of ten and would send Kane face-first into a steel chair propped up in the corner of the ring. Reigns then begins to gain momentum against Kane, hitting his signature running dropkick to the head of Kane. Kane would manage to slide out of the ring onto his feet, breaking up the count, but Roman Reigns would quickly capitalize, tossing “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” into the steel steps set up on the ramp by Kane. Reigns then grabs a table from under the ring, sliding it into the ring, but Kane blasts Roman from behind. Back in the ring, Kane sets up the table and, when Roman charges at Kane looking for the Spear, Kane grabs Roman and puts Reigns through the table with the chokeslam! Miraculously, Roman makes it to his feet just before the ten-count and Kane would look for the Tombstone Piledriver on Reigns, but Roman would counter, hitting a DDT on Kane on the steel chair. Roman then hits the Superman Punch on Kane and, even with the referee forgetting to administer his count, Kane makes it back to his feet and, after another chokeslam attempt, Reigns would fight out, dropping “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” with the Spear! Kane would struggle trying to get to his feet, desperately trying to use the ropes to gain his footing, but “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” would fail to make it to his feet by the count of ten as Roman Reigns picks up the win over Kane! Damien Sandow would make a lot of enemies with his latest attire on RAW as Sandow would arrive in the home of the Texas Longhorns dressed as a player for the Oklahoma Sooners. However, Sandow’s opponent would be a proud native of Texas and a proud Longhorns fan as “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry would face Damien Sandow! Mark Henry would make quick work of Damien Sandow, planting the Sooner-clad Sandow with the World’s Strongest Slam, picking up the easy win. In the first of two Beat The Clock Matches, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would go one-on-one with Alberto Del Rio and, if Ambrose wins, he will set the time for Seth Rollins to beat later in the night. Throughout the match, Alberto Del Rio would punish Dean Ambrose, targeting the injured shoulder of Ambrose, but Ambrose would continue to survive, eventually hitting the Dirty Deeds on Del Rio, picking up the win over Del Rio and setting the time for Seth Rollins to beat at 15:42. With a Flag Match against Jack Swagger around the corner at SummerSlam, Rusev was in action on RAW as “The Hero of the Russian Federation”, with Lana in his corner, went one-on-one with Sin Cara. In a dominant victory, Rusev would lock in the Accolade on Sin Cara, making Sin Cara tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Lana would sing “Happy Birthday” to President Obama in Russian before the song is interrupted by the arrival of Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter, who make their way to the ring. Colter says that he is so sick of hearing Lana’s voice and he definitely sick of hearing about Vladimir Putin and Mother Russia. Zeb continues, saying that that they have no idea who they are fighting at SummerSlam because every American will be supporting Jack Swagger at “The Biggest Event of the Summer”. Colter then says that the last thing Rusev & Lana will be seeing at SummerSlam is the waving of Old Glory before leading the crowd in proclaiming “We the people”. This leads to an intense stare-down between Jack Swagger and Rusev with Lana telling Rusev to save it for SummerSlam, but this would prove to be a ruse as Rusev cheap-shots Swagger in the mid-section with the Russian flag before using the flag to knock Swagger out of the ring. Rusev then sets his sights on Zeb Colter as Rusev & Lana corner Colter as Lana mocks Zeb by saying “We the people”. With his SummerSlam opponent, Intercontinental Champion The Miz, a guest on commentary, “The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler went one-on-one with Cesaro on RAW. In the end, it was Dolph Ziggler hitting Cesaro with the Zig Zag en route to picking up the win. After the match, The Miz would enter the ring, coming face-to-face with his SummerSlam opponent and holding the Intercontinental Title high. Dolph then acts like he is going to kick Miz in the face and the Intercontinental Champion would take a dive as Dolph successfully humiliates his rival. In their return to in-ring competition, Goldust & Stardust would face RybAxel in tag team action on RAW. In the end , it was Stardust hitting Curtis Axel with Dark Matter, pinning Axel for the win. Backstage, a discussion between Triple H and Stephanie McMahon is interrupted when Kane enters their office and, without a word, “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” removes his mask and hands it to Stephanie McMahon before the unmasked Kane walks out of the office! After defeating Erick Rowan on SmackDown to ensure that Erick Rowan would be banned from ringside for his match against Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam, Chris Jericho would go one-on-one with The Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper, with Erick Rowan in his corner, on RAW and, if “Y2J” wins, then Harper would also be banned from ringside! During the match, Chris Jericho would lock the Walls of Jericho in on Luke Harper, but this is when Bray Wyatt would make his appearance at ringside. While Jericho was able to take Erick Rowan out with the Codebreaker, Luke Harper would blast Jericho from behind, but Jericho would still hit the Codebreaker on Harper. However, Bray would enter the ring, dropping Jericho with a clothesline for the disqualification. Bray then picks Jericho up, hitting Jericho with the Sister Abigail, leaving “Y2J” laid out again. With his new dance partner, Hornswoggle, in his corner, Fandango would go one-on-one with Diego, with El Torito, Layla, & Summer Rae in his corner. After inadvertently knocking Hornswoggle off of the ring apron, Diego would capitalize with the Back Stabber, pinning Fandango for the win. After the match, Hornswoggle would join Diego, El Torito, Layla, & Summer Rae in dancing around Fandango, but Fandango would shove Hornswoggle down. Diego would then come to the defense of Hornswoggle, blasting Fandango with right hands before El Torito hits a senton on Fandango. After his undefeated streak was ended by R-Truth on last week’s RAW and Truth defeated him again via disqualification on SmackDown, RAW would see Bo Dallas going one-on-one with R-Truth. In the end, it was Bo Dallas rolling R-Truth up and hooking the pants of R-Truth for the unfair advantage, keeping Truth down for the three-count to pick up the win. After the match, an enraged R-Truth would attack Bo Dallas, tossing Bo into the ringside barricade, but Dallas would battle back, hitting the Bo Dog on R-Truth on the arena floor. With Dean Ambrose setting the time to beat at 15:42 in the Beat The Clock Challenge, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with Rob Van Dam on RAW and, if Rollins defeats RVD in less than 15:42, then Rollins will get to pick the stipulation for his match against Ambrose at SummerSlam. However, with the match set to begin, ring announcer Justin Roberts would make the announcement that The Authority has informed him that Rob Van Dam will not be Seth Rollins’ opponent as Rollins would face Heath Slater instead! Early on in the match, Dean Ambrose would make his way to ringside, nearly costing Seth Rollins the win and Ambrose would really get the attention of Rollins when Ambrose takes Rollins’ Money-in-the-Bank briefcase and ripping the contract in half! With the distractions failing to cost Rollins the match, Ambrose would grab a drink from the fans, dumping it in the briefcase before grabbing someone’s popcorn and dumping it into the soda-soaked briefcase! Ambrose then grabs JBL’s cowboy hat, shoving it in the briefcase and closing it before getting on top of the announce table with the ruined briefcase. This holds the attention of Seth Rollins long enough for Heath Slater to surprise Rollins with a roll-up, pinning Rollins for the win and ensuring that Rollins will not get to pick the stipulation for SummerSlam! After the match, Dean Ambrose calmly struts away from the ring as Seth Rollins throws a fit at ringside. Then it was time for what was sure to be a volatile contract signing as, with WWE COO Triple H by her side, WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon would make her match with Brie Bella, with her sister Nikki by her side, at SummerSlam official. Triple H says that, when an “icon” steps out of retirement, he usually oversees the signing, but since Stephanie is his wife, it would create a “personal conflict”, so that is why he has selected Michael Cole to mediate the contract signing. Stephanie then asks Brie Bella if her husband, Daniel Bryan, is still recovering and Brie says that Bryan is still recovering. Brie then fires back by asking Stephanie if she is still recovering from being arrested on live television two weeks ago and asking Stephanie is it was easy trading in Triple H for her cellmate. Brie continues, vowing to “embarrass” Stephanie at SummerSlam and she is going to send a message to the entire world, that Stephanie McMahon is a “fraud” and an “embarrassment to the McMahon family”. Brie then says that it is not just for her, her sister, or her husband, it is for Vickie Guerrero, Big Show, the Rhodes family, and for every person on the roster that she tortured for her own “amusement”! Brie then tells Stephanie that “karma” is about to come crashing down on Stephanie in ways that she cannot even imagine. Brie then signs the contract, calling Stephanie a “conniving piece of trash” before sliding the contract to the Principal Owner. Stephanie sarcastically tells Brie that she is sure that all of the legacies of those people she just mentioned are all glad that they are being represented by the likes of Brie Bella. Stephanie continues, saying that she is a fourth-generation McMahon and Brie is “nothing more than a wannabe reality star” who “abandoned” her husband and “stole the spotlight” from her sister all for a match against her at SummerSlam. Stephanie then tells Brie to look in the mirror because Brie will see a “shell of a woman”, saying that she is already “embarrassed” because she is having to share the ring with Brie Bella. Stephanie then says that, at SummerSlam, she is going to put an end to Brie’s “pathetic attempt” to make history. Stephanie then signs the contract before telling Brie that, at SummerSlam, she is going to tear Brie’s “heart” out! Stephanie then grabs the contract and cheap-shots Nikki Bella with it before Triple H shoves the table into the corner with Brie Bella behind it, holding the table in the corner to keep Brie trapped! Then, while Triple H looks on with glee and Brie looks on with terror, Stephanie delivers the Pedigree to Nikki Bella! Triple H & Stephanie then mock Brie’s husband, Daniel Bryan, with a “yes” chant, but Brie slaps the COO and when Brie tries to climb over the table, Stephanie slams her head on the table before planting Brie with a Pedigree as well! Triple H then raises the hand of Stephanie and the power couple stands over the fallen Bella Twins. What did you think of this week’s RAW? Post your comments in the box below.
