WWE Elimination Chamber 2014 ResultsBy Cassidy| February 24, 2014 WWE PPVs Screwed Yet Again. The fifth annual WWE Elimination Chamber came to you, live on pay-per-view, from the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. Six men, four pods, one demonic steel structure. For the past six years, the structure known as the Elimination Chamber has served as the last obstacle standing between a Superstar and a main event spot at WrestleMania and, this year, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship would be decided inside the miles of chain and tons of steel as Randy Orton would defend WWE’s top prize against John Cena, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, & Christian with the winner not only winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but they will secure their spot in the main event of WrestleMania XXX, where they will defend the gold against “The Animal” Batista! In a 6-Man Tag match that no one ever thought would take place, the two most dominant entities in the WWE would go to war at WWE Elimination Chamber as The Shield would collide with The Wyatt Family as United States Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns would collide with Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, & Erick Rowan for the first time ever! As “The Animal” paves his own path on the Road to WrestleMania, one man stands in Batista’s way, Alberto Del Rio. Since Batista’s return to the WWE was announced, “The Mexican Aristocrat” has set out to prove that he is the one who deserves the spotlight, but, at WWE Elimination Chamber, Del Rio would have to prove his merit to Batista when he goes one-on-one with “The Animal”. The Intercontinental Championship would also be up for grabs at WWE Elimination Chamber as Big E would defend the prestigious title against one-half of The Real Americans, Jack Swagger. The right to be called the top tag team in the WWE would be decided as The New Age Outlaws would defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against The Usos. Also, after Titus O’Neil abruptly and violently ended his partnership with Darren Young, the former Prime Time Players would face off at WWE Elimination Chamber as Darren Young goes one-on-one with Titus O’Neil. Detailed Results The opening match of WWE Elimination Chamber would be for the Intercontinental Championship as Big E would defend the Intercontinental Title against one-half of The Real Americans, Jack Swagger, with Zeb Colter in his corner. Jack Swagger would take it to Big E throughout the match as both men put it all on the line, but, in the end, it was Big E fighting out of the Patriot Lock before hitting the Big Ending, pinning Swagger to pick up the win and successfully retain the Intercontinental Title. The WWE Tag Team Titles were then up for grabs as The New Age Outlaws, Road Dogg & Billy Gunn, would defend the top prize of the tag team division against The Usos. In the end, it was a veteran move by Billy Gunn that would spell victory for The New Age Outlaws as Billy Gunn takes advantage of a distraction by Road Dogg, rolling Jimmy Uso up to pick up the win for The New Age Outlaws, who retain the WWE Tag Team Titles. Former friends and partners would square off at WWE Elimination Chamber as Darren Young would go one-on-one with the man who assaulted him and abruptly ended their friendship, Titus O’Neil. In the end, it was Titus O’Neil hitting the Clash of the Titus on Darren Young, pinning Darren for the win. Then it was time for one of the most anticipated collisions in recent memory as the two most dominant groups in the WWE would wage war at WWE Elimination Chamber as The Shield, United States Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns, would face The Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, & Erick Rowan, in a 6-Man Tag match. Before the match even gets underway, a face-off between The Shield and The Wyatt Family leads to a brawl between the two trios with The Shield getting the better of The Wyatt Family before the match officially gets underway. Late in the incredible match, Luke Harper would actually dive to the outside as the super heavyweight takes out Dean Ambrose, but Seth Rollins would take Harper out with a dive of his own. Meanwhile, in the ring, both Roman Reigns and Erick Rowan catch each other with a clothesline. Seth Rollins then takes apart the Spanish announce table and Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper would try to put Rollins through the table, but Ambrose would get involved and Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose would disappear as they brawl into the crowd! Back in the ring, Roman Reigns would hit a leaping clothesline on Erick Rowan as, at ringside, Seth Rollins would hit Luke Harper with a monitor. Bray Wyatt then emerges from the crowd and Bray & Harper dismantle the other announce table. At the instruction of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper & Erick Rowan lift Seth Rollins high in the air, hurling Rollins through the Spanish announce table! With Seth Rollins out of commission and Dean Ambrose nowhere to be found, The Wyatt Family would focus their efforts on Roman Reigns, each taking their turn in dismantling Reigns. Finally, it would come down to Bray Wyatt, who would try for the Sister Abigail, but Reigns would power out, hitting Bray with the Samoan Drop! Reigns would then single-handedly take it to The Wyatt Family, taking out both Harper & Rowan before turning his attention back to Bray Wyatt. However, when Reigns goes for the Spear, Luke Harper would take the ‘bullet’ for Bray, getting the Spear from Reigns. This would give Bray Wyatt the opening he needed to take Reigns out, hitting the Sister Abigail on Reigns, pinning Reigns to pick up an impressive win in an all-out war for supremacy. The Divas Championship would be on the line at WWE Elimination Chamber, but before she defends the title, Divas Champion AJ Lee, with Tamina Snuka at her side, would say that she is the longest reigning Divas Champion of all-time. AJ says that, despite the fact that she has “no competition”, she still has to defend the title here tonight, saying that it’s too bad that Naomi “broke her face”. AJ is then interrupted by her challenger as Naomi’s partner, Cameron, would challenge AJ Lee for the Divas Title. During the match, Tamina Snuka would try to help AJ Lee out on the outside, but when Tamina goes for the superkick, she inadvertently kicks AJ in the face! This nearly costs AJ the title, but when Cameron goes for the pin on AJ in the ring, Tamina pulls AJ to the ropes. Tamina then pulls Cameron out of the ring, taking Cameron out with the superkick for the disqualification, barely keeping the Divas Title on AJ Lee. On a night where the Elimination Chamber would determine who he would be facing at WrestleMania, “The Animal” was in action at WWE Elimination Chamber as Batista was scheduled to face a man who has picked a fight with “The Animal” in recent weeks, Alberto Del Rio. However, Del Rio would come to the ring with a neckbrace on, walking on a crutch. As Batista glares at Del Rio in disbelief, Del Rio says that, because of Batista’s “brutal attack” two weeks ago, he will not be able to compete tonight. However, Del Rio would cheap-shot Batista with his crutch, wearing “The Animal” out with the crutch, targeting Batista’s knee. With Batista in questionable shape, Del Rio orders the timekeeper to ring the bell, but the referee would check with Batista before ringing the bell for the match to start. During the match, Del Rio would take the pad off of one of the turnbuckles, exposing the steel buckle. That would come back to haunt Del Rio as Batista sends Del Rio into the exposed turnbuckle, following it up with the Batista Bomb, pinning Del Rio for the win. Then it was time for the main event and namesake of WWE Elimination Chamber as Randy Orton would step inside a structure that he has never been successful in to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against five challengers as “The Viper” would defend the title against Christian, Sheamus, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, & John Cena inside the Elimination Chamber. In the Elimination Chamber Match, two randomly selected Superstars would start the match with the other four men being locked in their own pod inside the structure and, every five minutes, one of the pods would open at random and that Superstar would enter the match. A Superstar can be eliminated via pinfall or submission at any time during the match and the last man remaining will walk out as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion with a guaranteed title defense in the main event of WrestleMania against Batista. Before the match gets underway, the four men who would be locked inside the pods was revealed as a three-time winner inside the Elimination Chamber, John Cena, a man participating in his first Elimination Chamber Match, Christian, the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, and the injured crowd favorite Daniel Bryan would all have the luxury of not having to start the match. The ‘honor’ of starting the match would go to Cesaro and “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus, who would battle for five minutes before a third competitor would join the match. After five minutes of brawling inside the ring and outside on the steel floor, the countdown would begin and a third competitor would join the fray as Daniel Bryan joins Sheamus and Cesaro in the match. Not long after his arrival into the match, Daniel Bryan would find himself being sent crashing through one of the pods. A few moments later, Sheamus would hit his rolling senton on Cesaro on the steel floor of the Chamber. With all three men vulnerable, the countdown would begin again and Christian would join Sheamus, Cesaro, & Daniel Bryan in the match. Christian would immediately target the weakened Daniel Bryan, working on the injured shoulder of Daniel Bryan, but Christian’s troubles would begin when Christian would try to take care of Cesaro. Christian and Cesaro would go counter-for-counter before Cesaro would powerbomb Christian into the side of a pod! Christian would kick out of the pin that follows and Cesaro would turn his attention to Sheamus, but Sheamus would suplex Cesaro onto a piece of pod glass. The fifth man would then enter the match as John Cena joins the fray, getting a brief flurry of offense before running into Daniel Bryan. However, Christian would come from behind, hitting the Killswitch on Daniel Bryan, but Bryan would kick out of the pin that followed. Following a wild, five-man brawl inside the Chamber, all five men were weak as the final man enters the match, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton. Orton would waste no time in getting a shot in on all five of his challengers, but after a missed punt from Orton, the champion would find himself cornered by the other five men in the match. The champion would immediately retreat to the confines of his pod and four of the competitors would turn their attention elsewhere, but Sheamus would stare down Orton. The angry Irishman would then get to Orton by destroying the pod with the Brogue Kick! The champion would then find himself at the mercy of Cesaro as Cesaro swings Orton with the Cesaro Swing a symbolic thirty times! Shortly after this, Sheamus would catch John Cena with the Brogue Kick and Christian would try to take advantage, attempting to pin Sheamus and Cena, but both men would kick out of both pins. Sheamus would then pursue Christian to the outside of the ring, but Christian would scramble to the top of the pod and Sheamus would try to get to Christian by climbing to the top rope. However, this would provide the perfect opportunity for Orton to hit Sheamus with a superplex, which is followed by the frog splash from the top of the pod by Christian, who pins Sheamus for the first elimination! The first elimination would get the ball rolling as Daniel Bryan would catch Christian with the running knee, pinning Christian to eliminate “Captain Charisma” from the match. The remaining four competitors would then pair off with Daniel Bryan and John Cena taking care of their adversaries before Cena and Bryan go at it in the center of the ring. Cena would set Bryan up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Cesaro would come in from behind, delivering a German suplex to both Cena and Bryan! Shortly after this, Cena would get his hands on Cesaro, delivering the Attitude Adjustment to Cesaro on the steel floor of the Chamber. Cena then drags Cesaro into the center of the ring, locking in the STF, forcing Cesaro to tap out to score the elimination, leaving John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and champion Randy Orton in the match. In similar fashion to what happened at the Royal Rumble, Cena would lock in the STF on Orton, but the lights would go out and The Wyatt Family would appear inside the Chamber! The trio then hijacks the Chamber Match, taking Daniel Bryan out before targeting John Cena as The Wyatt Family beats Cena down before Bray Wyatt delivers the Sister Abigail to Cena! As The Wyatt Family exits the Chamber, Orton crawls to the cover on Cena, eliminating Cena from the match. Director of Operations Kane then comes out, getting in the face of Bray Wyatt, who just laughs and walks away. Kane then enters the Chamber to aid in Cena’s removal, but Kane is attacked with a missile dropkick from Daniel Bryan! After a back-and-forth battle between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan, Bryan would hit the running knee on Orton, but Kane would pull the referee out of the ring. Bryan then drops Kane with a kick to the head, but Orton hits the RKO on Daniel Bryan. However, Bryan would kick out of the pin, but just when it looked like Bryan was moments away from securing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Kane would cheap-shot Bryan with a right hand, allowing Orton to hit a second RKO, pinning Bryan to win the match, successfully retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and ensuring that he will be defending the title against Batista at WrestleMania.
