Original Sin Cara Confirms WWE Release, Says He Owns The Gimmick!By Cassidy| January 24, 2014 Wrestling News WrestleZone.com is reporting that after the Sin Cara character was unmasked this past Wednesday night on Main Event (edited out of the TV show), exposing the man behind the mask as the former Hunico, that was possibly the final appearance of the Sin Cara character. In an interview with Mexican Lucha Libre show, Tercera Caida, the original Sin Cara (the popular Mistico in Mexico), Luis Alvirde, revealed that he was released from the WWE. However, according to Mistico, WWE will not be permitted to continue using the Sin Cara character because he owns the rights to the character. Mistico stated the following (translated into English from the Spanish-language interview), “I am the owner of the persona of Sin Cara. I say it openly because it’s all on my side, in my favor. I think that it’s best left to lawyers because I am the owner of the persona, I am the owner of the image and I have proof…..Everyone knows that the original Mistico went on to be Sin Cara in the WWE.
