After the match, The Wyatt Family would appear on the Tron as Bray Wyatt tells Daniel Bryan that the “clock is ticking” and he does not wish to watch Bryan “suffer”. Wyatt then says that their story ends the same way that it started, saying that they are going to “hurt” Daniel Bryan, but they will prove that Bryan is a “monster” and, when he does, he will take all of Bryan’s pain away, telling Bryan to “join us”. Then it was time for the first Slammy Award of the night to be handed out as the hosts of the 2013 Slammy Awards, WWE Hall of Famers Booker T & Jerry “The King” Lawler, come out to the podium to introduce the presenters for the LOL! Moment of the Year, the legendary members of D-Generation X and multiple time tag team champions, The New Age Outlaws! Road Dogg & Billy Gunn then reveal the recipient of the LOL! Moment of the Year as The Rock wins for his special concert on the 20th Anniversary of RAW. With The Rock not in the arena, Vickie Guerrero accepts the Slammy Award on The Rock’s behalf, saying that the award represents her “beauty”. With Intercontinental Champion Big E. Langston a guest on commentary, the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Title, Damien Sandow, would face Santino Marella on RAW. In the end, it was Damien Sandow putting Santino Marella down with the You’re Welcome, picking up the win. After the match, Big E. Langston would slide into the ring, leading to a face-off between the champion and the challenger. To present the Slammy Award for Double-Cross of the Year, The Shield comes out to present the award, as The Shield states that they know nothing about double crosses and people should think twice about double-crossing them. Dean Ambrose then reveals the nominees for Double-Cross of the Year as the choices were Mark Henry’s retirement ruse, Shawn Michaels’ super kick to Daniel Bryan at Hell in a Cell, Paul Heyman’s betrayal of CM Punk at Money-in-the-Bank, and Triple H costing Daniel Bryan the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. The Shield then reveals the winner to be Shawn Michaels for his super kick to Daniel Bryan at Hell in a Cell. The WWE Hall of Famer then comes out to accept the award, saying that he should have won Double-Cross of the Year sooner considering all of the double-crossing he has done throughout his career. Rivals turned tag team partners turned rivals squared off on RAW as The Miz went one-on-one with Kofi Kingston. In the end, it was The Miz surprising Kofi Kingston with a roll-up, hooking the tights for added leverage to pick up the win. After the match, Kofi Kingston would not take kindly to The Miz’s dubious victory as Kofi puts Miz down with Trouble in Paradise. Former Divas Champion Eve Torres would return to WWE to present the Slammy Award for Diva of the Year. Eve says that the Divas have had a great year before introducing the nominees for Diva of the Year as the choices are The Bella Twins, The Funkadactyls, Kaitlyn, Natalya, Eva Marie, and reigning Divas Champion AJ Lee. Eve Torres then unveils the winner for Diva of the Year as both of The Bella Twins win the prestigious award. In 8-Man Tag action, Rey Mysterio would team with Big Show and WWE Tag Team Champions Goldust & Cody Rhodes to face the team of Ryback, Curtis Axel, & The Real Americans, with Zeb Colter in their corner. In the end, it was Rey Mysterio hitting the 619 on Curtis Axel en route to picking up the win for his team. Then it was time for WWE Hall of Famer “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels to present the most prestigious of the Slammy Awards, the Superstar of the Year award! After reminding everyone that he won a Slammy earlier, Michaels says that the Superstar of the Year award should go to the man who delivers an “A+ performance” every time he steps into the ring, suggesting that the Slammy Award be renamed after himself. Michaels then introduces the choices for Superstar of the Year as the fans can choose between “The Beast” Brock Lesnar, “The Best in the World” CM Punk, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, Daniel Bryan, the self-proclaimed “face of the WWE” and reigning WWE Champion Randy Orton, and the winner of the 2013 Royal Rumble, as well as the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, John Cena. Shawn Michaels then reveals that the winner of the 2013 Superstar of the Year award goes to, arguably, the most popular Superstar of 2013, Daniel Bryan! Daniel Bryan then comes face-to-face with the man that cost him the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell, Shawn Michaels. After an intense stare-down with his former mentor, Daniel Bryan says that, if it was not for Shawn Michaels, he would be the WWE Champion. Bryan then says that The Authority does not want him to be the Superstar of the Year, but the fans want him to be the Superstar of the Year. One week after his upset loss to Sin Cara on RAW, Alberto Del Rio would be looking to avenge the loss as “The Mexican Aristocrat” would go one-on-one with Sin Cara in a rematch from last week’s bout. At the end of a competitive bout, it was Sin Cara hitting the Swanton Bomb on Alberto Del Rio en route to picking up another victory over Alberto Del Rio. The Prime Time Players then come out to present the Slammy Award for Fan Participation of the Year. After inserting themselves for an “honorable mention”, The Prime Time Players present the nominees as the choices are Fandango-ing, the “Yes! Yes! Yes!” chant, the “Let’s Go Cena/Cena Sucks” chant, and the “What’s Up!?” chant. Having already secured the Superstar of the Year award earlier in the night, Daniel Bryan would also pick up the Fan Participation Award and, appropriately so, Daniel Bryan leads the crowd in chanting “yes”. With R-Truth in his corner, Xavier Woods would go one-on-one with Brodus Clay, with Tensai and The Funkadactyls in his corner. In the end, it was a quick win for Brodus Clay as “The Funkasaurus” hits a big splash off of the second rope en route to picking up the win over the young star. After the match, Brodus Clay would snap, repeatedly dropping elbows on Xavier Woods until Tensai and R-Truth are finally able to pull Brodus off of Xavier Woods. To present the Slammy Award for Insult of the Year, The Miz comes out, presenting the nominees for Insult of the Year as the choices are AJ Lee’s promo about the Total Divas, Zeb Colter’s various insults, Paul Heyman’s insulting of CM Punk, and Stephanie McMahon’s berating of Big Show. The Miz then reveals that the winner of the Insult of the Year award goes to Stephanie McMahon for her berating of Big Show. The Principal Owner of the WWE then comes out, saying that, what some consider an insult, she considers a “compliment”, saying that they all finally realize what is “best for business”. Six nights before he faces The Shield in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match at WWE TLC, “The Best in the World” CM Punk would face United States Champion Dean Ambrose, with Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns in his corner, in a non-title match. During the match, Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns would repeatedly close in on CM Punk on the outside of the ring, but Dean Ambrose would confront his teammates, instructing them to leave ringside. However, this would give Punk plenty of time to recover and Punk would hit the GTS on Ambrose en route to picking up the win. After the match, Seth Rollins would distract CM Punk long enough for Roman Reigns to blast Punk with a vicious Spear! To present the award for the Extreme Moment of the Year, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley would make his way to the podium to present the nominees for the Extreme Moment of the Year as the choices are The Shield’s three-man powerbomb on The Undertaker, Ryback’s Spear to John Cena through the lighting grid at Extreme Rules, CM Punk getting his revenge on Paul Heyman at Hell in a Cell, and The Wyatt Family’s destruction and abduction of Kane at SummerSlam. Mick Foley then reveals that CM Punk is the winner of the Extreme Moment of the Year award for exacting his revenge on Paul Heyman at Hell in a Cell. After commenting that he feels weird accepting an award without pants on, saying that they will see “extreme” this Sunday at WWE TLC. In tag team action, The Usos would face The Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper & Erick Rowan, with Bray Wyatt seated at ringside, on RAW. In the end, it was Luke Harper blasting Jimmy Uso with the Discus Clothesline, pinning Jimmy for the win. Then it was time for the final Slammy Award of the night to be handed out as WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart would come out to a huge ovation to present the Match of the Year award and the nominees for the prestigious award were The Undertaker vs. CM Punk from WrestleMania XXIX, Goldust & Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns from Battleground, the Steel Cage Match between Triple H and Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules, and The Rock vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXIX. “The Hitman” then announces the winner as The Rock vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXIX as World Heavyweight Champion John Cena accepts the award on his own behalf, as well as The Rock’s behalf. Before she challenges AJ Lee for the Divas Championship at WWE TLC, Natalya would go one-on-one with Tamina Snuka, with Divas Champion AJ Lee in her corner. In the end, it was Natalya fending off a distraction by AJ Lee and forcing Tamina Snuka to tap out to the Sharpshooter to pick up the win. Then it was time for an epic, never-before-seen occurrence in the WWE as, for the first and final time in the WWE, the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship would be hung high above the ring and, in the ring, The Authority would be joined by twenty former WWE and World Heavyweight Champions for the unheard of Championship Ascension Ceremony! WWE COO Triple H & WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon first make their way to the ring before they are joined by a gathering of former champions in Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Christian, Rey Mysterio, The Great Khali, Kane, Mark Henry, Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk, The Miz, & Daniel Bryan. Stephanie McMahon says that her husband, Triple H, is a thirteen-time World Champion and that is why it is only fitting that he preside over the Championship Ascension Ceremony. Triple H says that all of them know what it is like to scratch and claw to make it to the top and be a champion, whether it be the WWE Champion or the World Heavyweight Champion or, in rarer cases, both. Doing his best to speak over the deafening “Daniel Bryan” and “yes” chants, Triple H continues, saying that all of them are present to witness a “game-changing moment in history” as, this Sunday at WWE TLC, two champions will compete, but only one champion will leave as the Champion of Champions. To complete the assembly of former champions in the ring, Triple H then brings out the two men that will make history this Sunday at WWE TLC as the COO first introduces the reigning WWE Champion and the self-proclaimed “face of the WWE” Randy Orton, who makes his way to the ring, before Stephanie McMahon introduces the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, John Cena. Triple H then asks both Randy Orton and John Cena to hand over the WWE Title and World Heavyweight Title belts and both champions reluctantly hand their titles over. As WWE officials prepare to raise the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship up for their final appearance together on WWE television, Randy Orton says that he did not get “lazy”, saying that he has all of the “motivation” that he needs to beat Cena this Sunday hanging right in front of him. Orton continues, saying that, to Cena, “image is everything” before saying that he is the “greatest Superstar” of all-time. Orton then says that he took years off of Mick Foley’s career and embarrassed Shawn Michaels on multiple occasions. Orton even addresses Bret Hart, saying that there would not have been a Montreal Screwjob had he been competing sixteen years ago because he would have left “The Hitman” lying unconscious. Orton then concludes, vowing to put Cena down at WWE TLC. Much to the elation of the fans in Seattle, John Cena brings Daniel Bryan forward, saying that Bryan has had to “work” for everything he has gotten and he has not been handed success like Randy Orton. Cena then says that nothing has changed in the last eleven years, saying that Orton still hides behind Triple H & Stephanie McMahon and Orton has had “behavioral problems” in and out of the ring for years. Cena continues, saying that Orton wants to win this Sunday because he is “selfish” and Orton wants to walk around and tell everyone that he has finally become what he was supposed to be ten years ago. Cena says that, whether they love him or hate him, all of the Superstars and Legends in the ring respect him, saying that everybody said that it was a bad idea to give CM Punk a WWE Title match, but all he saw was “The Best in the World”. Cena then says that the only legitimate WWE Title shot that Daniel Bryan ever got was against him at SummerSlam and Bryan won, saying that, if he wins this Sunday, he looks forward to having a “fair rematch” with Daniel Bryan. Cena then turns his attention back to Orton, saying that he can be just as brutal as Orton. Cena then extends his hand before saying that he will bring his absolute best to WWE TLC this Sunday and he hopes that Orton will too because the last thing that the WWE needs is “another Randy Orton excuse”! Orton then reluctantly shakes the hand of his long-time rival, but when Cena turns his attention to the championships that are being risen above the ring, Orton gets a cheap-shot in on Cena, sparking a brawl that is quickly broken up by the former champions in the ring, who separate Cena and Orton in neutral corners. However, all hell breaks loose when Orton decides to shove one of his ‘handlers’, CM Punk, who does not take kindly to Orton’s disrespect as Punk decks the WWE Champion, getting a few shots in on Orton before Triple H gets physical with Punk, tossing Punk to the mat by his hair! Punk does not hold back as Punk decks the COO as well, but as soon as he does, he is blasted with Sweet Chin Music from Shawn Michaels! The Hall of Famer then finds himself on his back, courtesy of a knee to the face from Daniel Bryan. Orton then tries to put Daniel Bryan down with the RKO, but Bryan counters, inadvertently shoving Orton into Stephanie McMahon, who gets knocked down. Triple H immediately rushes to the aid of his fallen wife before he turns to Randy Orton and plants the WWE Champion with the Pedigree! Cena and Kane then join Triple H in tending to Stephanie and, when Orton looks up from the corner, he sees Cena standing side by side with The Authority, which visibly scares the WWE Champion.
