Detailed Results One night after a distraction by The Authority allowed him to retain the WWE Championship against Big Show at Survivor Series, which was followed by a stare-down with World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, RAW kicks off with the WWE Champion and self-proclaimed “face of the WWE”, Randy Orton. The WWE Champion says that he thinks that he is “owed an apology” from anyone and everyone who doubted that he would still be the WWE Champion after Survivor Series. Orton then says that it is his understanding that The Authority would be out there with him, asking WWE COO Triple H & WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon to join him in the ring. The Authority makes their way to the ring as Triple H tells Randy Orton that they could not be happier with Orton’s title retention and he always knew that Orton had the potential to be “one of the greatest Superstars” in WWE history. Stephanie says that they threw adversity in Orton’s way and the WWE Champion did exactly what they knew he would do, saying that Orton “rose above”, adding that it is always nice when The Authority is proven “right”. Orton says that he did not The Authority’s help to prove himself at Survivor Series, but Triple H argues that Orton may not remember correctly because he was knocked unconscious, saying that they came out because it looked like Orton was about to lose the WWE Title. Orton says that he took everything that Big Show had to dish out and he stood back up and got the job done, saying that he “slayed the giant” because he is the “face of the WWE”. Orton continues, proclaiming that he is the “greatest star in the WWE ever” and “nobody” can take that away from him! However, this brings out one man who could also lay claim to being the “greatest star” in WWE history, World Heavyweight Champion John Cena. Stephanie asks the World Heavyweight Champion what he is doing out there and Cena says that the fans are sick of the “administrative B.S.”. Cena then says that, the way he sees it, there are two champions in the ring right now. Cena then lays down a blockbuster challenge, saying that he believes that it is time for there to be only “one champion” in the WWE! Cena asks Orton if he has the “guts”, saying that it is a match that has been “eleven years in the making”, challenging Randy Orton to a Winner-Take-All Match for both the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship! Orton says that he knew that is what The Authority was talking about with Cena at Survivor Series, but Triple H tells Orton to quit crying about it. Triple H then makes the monumental announcement that, in three weeks’ time at WWE TLC, both the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight Title will be suspended high above the ring and, on that night, World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will face WWE Champion Randy Orton in a TLC Match for both the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship! One night after The Shield’s Roman Reigns stole the show by racking up four eliminations to bring his team back from a four-man disadvantage to win the Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match for his team, The Shield, United States Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns would face the team of Rey Mysterio and the WWE Tag Team Champions, Goldust & Cody Rhodes, in a 6-Man Tag match. Much like at Survivor Series, Roman Reigns would look to Spear everyone in sight, taking both Rey Mysterio and Goldust out with the Spear before Cody Rhodes takes Roman Reigns out with the Disaster Kick. However, this would leave Cody Rhodes alone to combat two members of The Shield as, when Rhodes goes for Cross Rhodes on Rollins, Dean Ambrose spots his opening, hitting Rhodes with the Headlock Driver en route to picking up the win for The Shield. The Miz would then appear on RAW to host a special edition of Miz TV as “The Awesome One” would introduce his guest, the Super Bowl champion turned morning show co-host on Live with Michael and Kelly, Michael Strahan! However, the man that comes out is Titus O’Neil, who comes out with a fake gap in his teeth, impersonating the former New York Giant. The faux Strahan puts himself over, saying that the most promising star in the locker room right now is Titus O’Neil. The real Guest Host of RAW then makes his way to the ring as the Super Bowl champion chest-bumps with Titus before saying The Miz’s jokes were “weak”. Strahan says that Titus’ “suit game” is good, but his “gap game” is weak, saying that Titus does not have the “confidence” to pull off the gap. Strahan says that he has it on “good authority” that the main event of the evening will see WWE Champion Randy Orton teaming with Alberto Del Rio to face the team of World Heavyweight Champion John Cena and “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show. The Miz says that there is no doubt that Strahan is a “good host”, but he is a host, as well as a Superstar. Strahan comments that Kelly Ripa is “tougher” than The Miz, saying that there is a “bad man” under his suit and tie. As the crowd chants “Kelly Ripa”, The Miz asks Strahan if he could handle a simple hip toss and Strahan doesn’t back down. Titus moves some furniture, commenting that he is available if Kelly needs him tomorrow. After a couple of attempts, Strahan delivers a hip toss to both The Miz and Titus O’Neil. A monstrous team of powerhouses would be formed on RAW as new Intercontinental Champion Big E. Langston would team with “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry to face the team of Curtis Axel & Ryback. In dominant fashion, Mark Henry would squash Curtis Axel with the World’s Strongest Slam en route to picking up the win for himself and the Intercontinental Champion. In a rematch from Survivor Series, the Total Divas team of Natalya, The Bella Twins, Jo-Jo, Eva Marie, & The Funkadactyls would face the self-proclaimed “Real Divas” team of Divas Champion AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka, Kaitlyn, Aksana, Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes, & Summer Rae in a Traditional 7-on-7 Survivor Series Divas Elimination Tag Rematch. The first Diva to go was Aksana as Brie Bella hits the facebuster for the elimination before The Bella Twins use Twin Magic on Rosa Mendes before Nikki Bella eliminates Rosa. With a straight super kick to the face, Tamina Snuka would send Naomi packing before a Samoan Drop deals a similar fate for Cameron. With a scoop slam, Natalya would let Jo-Jo pin Tamina Snuka for the elimination. Alicia Fox then hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Jo-Jo, taking Jo-Jo out of the match and, despite being all over the ropes, Eva Marie would hold Alicia Fox down for a three-count, eliminating Fox from the match. Natalya then forces Kaitlyn out of the match with the Sharpshooter before AJ Lee gets her hands dirty, rolling Natalya up for the elimination. Brie Bella then hits the facebuster on AJ Lee, pinning the Divas Champion for the elimination, leaving Summer Rae alone to face Eva Marie and The Bella Twins. Summer Rae would not fare well, however, as Nikki Bella hits the Rack on Summer Rae en route to eliminating Summer Rae and picking up the win for the Total Divas. As voted on by the fans, “The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler would go one-on-one with Damien Sandow in the first ever Hamptons Hardcore Match, featuring such ‘weapons’ as tennis balls, tennis rackets, and golf clubs! After using metal garbage cans against each other, Damien Sandow would empty a trash can in the ring, but would find himself among the garbage when Dolph Ziggler hits a neckbreaker in the trash heap. Later on in the match, Dolph Ziggler would grab an oar, cracking it over the back of Damien Sandow! Sandow then regains the advantage with a trash can shot to the head, but when Sandow goes for a shot with a tennis racket, Dolph would fight back, planting Sandow with a DDT on a steel chair. However, Sandow would continue to fight back, breaking an oar over Dolph’s back before hitting the full-nelson slam on a trash can, pinning Ziggler for the win. Before facing all three members of The Wyatt Family in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match, CM Punk & Daniel Bryan would join Renee Young for a special in-ring interview on RAW. CM Punk says that they finally get their hands on Bray Wyatt, calling Bray a “false prophet” before calling attention to the fact that all three of them have microphones, but Renee is not asking them any questions. Punk continues, saying that Handicap Matches are “all the rage” nowadays, mocking The Authority’s love for punishing Superstars, calling the idea “real creative”. Punk says that they could put any combination of people against them, but it does not matter because they will “burn them all to the ground”! Daniel Bryan says that he has looked into the eyes of Bray Wyatt and he knows that Bray will not stop until he finishes them, but they refuse to let that happen. It was then time for action as “The Best” and “The Beard”, CM Punk & Daniel Bryan, would face all three members of The Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, & Erick Rowan, in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. Despite the referee’s best efforts, the match would completely descend into complete chaos on behalf of The Wyatt Family, leaving the referee no choice but to end the match. After the match, Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan would drag Daniel Bryan to the outside of the ring as, in the ring, Luke Harper would level CM Punk with the Discus Clothesline. Wyatt & Rowan then sling Daniel Bryan into the ringside barricade before Luke Harper joins his brethren on the outside. Rowan then lifts the unconscious Daniel Bryan up as The Wyatt Family abducts Bryan, carrying “The Beard” out of the arena! Back in the ring, CM Punk would struggle to roll out of the ring with the intent of pursuing The Wyatt Family, but Punk would be blind-sided by a huge Spear from The Shield’s Roman Reigns! Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins then join Reigns as The Shield rolls Punk back into the ring, drilling Punk with their three-man powerbomb in the center of the ring! Could The Shield’s attack on CM Punk be a result of CM Punk’s comments about The Authority earlier in the night or was it simply a random act of violence from the unpredictable group? In a rematch from the Survivor Series Kickoff pre-show, RAW would see The Miz going one-on-one with Kofi Kingston. In the end, it was The Miz catching Kofi Kingston with a roll-up, picking up the win. With R-Truth in his corner and a ‘funky’ entrance, courtesy of Brodus Clay, former NXT star Xavier Woods would make his singles in-ring debut on RAW, facing 3MB’s Heath Slater, with Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre in his corner. In the end, it was Xavier Woods putting Heath Slater down with Lost in the Woods, picking up the win in his singles debut on RAW. Following the huge announcement earlier in the night that, in three weeks at WWE TLC, he will face John Cena with both the WWE and the World Heavyweight Titles on the line in a TLC Match, the main event of the evening would see WWE Champion Randy Orton teaming with “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio to face the team of World Heavyweight Champion John Cena and “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show. During the match, Alberto Del Rio would deliver a straight kick to the skull of Big Show, who was apparently still feeling the effects of the vicious punt to the head from Randy Orton at Survivor Series. The referee would try to check on Big Show, but Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio would refuse to let up long enough for Big Show to be evaluated. Despite his dazed state, Big Show would continue to instinctually kick out of pin attempts, but things would take a turn for the worse after Del Rio rattles Big Show with a second kick to the head. This time, Big Show was in such disarray that he tried to tag in his opponent, Randy Orton. With Orton and Del Rio still doing their best to keep the referee from checking on Big Show, WWE’s ringside physician had seen enough as Dr. Chris Amann slides into the ring during the match, helping the referee pull Randy Orton off of Big Show so that the doctor could check on the giant. With a glazed look in his eye, Big Show would repeatedly try to stand, but when Big Show finally gets to his feet, Randy Orton jumps Big Show. As the doctor scrambles out of the ring, Randy Orton hits a big DDT on Big Show, but Big Show somehow survives, taking the WWE Champion down with the Spear and finally making the tag to John Cena. While the doctor checks on Big Show on the outside of the ring, John Cena takes care of business on behalf of his partner, locking in the STF on Alberto Del Rio, forcing Del Rio to tap out to pick up the win. After the match, John Cena would turn his attention to the proceedings on the outside and Del Rio would try to take advantage, but would eventually suffer the Attitude Adjustment from the World Heavyweight Champion. However, Randy Orton was waiting in the wings, wasting no time in blasting Cena in the face with the WWE Title belt. Orton then grabs both the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles, standing over Cena and holding both belts high above his head. What did you think of this week’s RAW? Post your comments in the box below.
