Photos: WWE Raw #1000By Wrestling 101| September 17, 2013 Wrestling Galleries It’s just been over a year since WWE celebrated their 1000th episode of WWE Raw and what a year it’s been! Xander Hieken attended the show and was kind enough to allow us to share some of the photos from that night! What did he make of the show? Read on… Monday, July 23, 2012- St. Louis was celebrating WWE’s 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw. This night also marked the beginning of RAW’s new 3-hour format. This was the first live wrestling event that I have attended since Badd Blood: In Your House in October of 1997. In retrospect, that Badd Blood was a very significant point in WWE history- Kane made his first appearance, Vince McMahon left the commentary team, and the WWE universe got to see the first Hell in a Cell match. Fast-forward almost 15 years to this 1000th anniversary of RAW. Kane is still the big red monster, Vince shows up to introduce D-Generation X, and although the Hell in a Cell didn’t make an appearance, all of the inaugural participants (Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Kane) were there. This nostalgia-filled event was packed to the brim with WWE royalty. They had stars from John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk all the way back to Mae Young, Doink the Clown, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. It would have been nice to see Stone Cold Steve Austin and Edge show up, but other than that, this episode of RAW was still pretty much everything I could have hoped for. I got to see a lot of my childhood heroes up close and personal, and I got a bunch of pictures that not only evoke memories of this 1000th episode of RAW but the last 15 or so years that I have been watching the WWE. Let’s hope the next 1000 episodes continue to provide us with more incredible stories, characters, and matches that we can share with future generations of WWE fans.
