WWE Spoilers: Why Is There No U.S. Title Match at WrestleMania?By Cassidy| April 4, 2013 Wrestling News The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the reason that the booking for United States Champion Antonio Cesaro has been so questionable as of late actually has almost nothing to do with Cesaro himself as a concussion suffered by Sin Cara several weeks ago is the reason for Cesaro’s booking. It may be difficult for most fans to recall, but Sin Cara actually pinned the United States Champion a month or two ago and that was supposed to be the catalyst behind a match between Cesaro and Sin Cara for the United States Title at WrestleMania. When Sin Cara went down with another injury early last month, WWE’s plans for the United States Title match went out the window, leaving Antonio Cesaro with no WrestleMania feud and no direction in the company. This is also why Cesaro has been being used as a glorified jobber in recent weeks, being used to build up talent who actually have matches on the card. Over the last month, Cesaro has lost matches to the likes of The Miz, Sheamus, & Chris Jericho and the only match that Cesaro has actually won since February’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was a count-out victory over World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, but the victory was overshadowed by the feud between Del Rio and Jack Swagger with Cesaro even being locked in the cross armbreaker after the match. Antonio Cesaro has been the United States Champion for nine months now, having defeated Santino Marella on the SummerSlam Pre-Show back in August (on a side-note, Cesaro has been the only Superstar to win a championship in the history of WWE’s online pre-shows), having successfully defended the once prestigious title against the likes of Wade Barrett, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, The Great Khali, Zack Ryder, Justin Gabriel, and even WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter. What do you think of Antonio Cesaro being left off the WrestleMania card? Post your comments in the box below.
