WWE: Former Superstar Saves Mother from Burning Building!By Cassidy| March 21, 2013 Wrestling News WWE.com has posted an incredibly heroic story where a former WWE Superstar risked his life to save his mother from her burning apartment building. Former Superstar Chris Masters (Chris Mordetsky) was training and working out at a local Los Angeles gym when he received a call that something strange was going on at his mother’s apartment building. When he arrived on the scene, Chris discovered that his 57-year old mother was apparently being held hostage by one of her neighbors as the neighbor had Masters’ mother, as well as Masters’ uncle Leo Taliaferro, in the apartment and threatened to set the entire place on fire if anyone made a move to try and enter the building. The local police would arrive shortly after Masters showed up and the arrival of the cops instigated the hostage-taker to start a fire in the apartment. With his mother in clear danger, Masters would take control of the situation, directing and aiding the police officers. Masters explains, “I was like, ‘break those windows and get my mom out of there!'” The police would try to snake a hose through a broken window into the apartment, but a tree blocked them from doing so, so Masters used his unreal strength to snap the 10-foot tree down to the ground, clearing a path to the apartment. “I bear-hugged the whole tree down to the ground, which scratched my forearms up. Basically, I took the tree and tackled it down to where it was parallel to the ground. Then [after the police had broken most of the windows out], I broke the last piece of glass with my forearm and, then out of nowhere, my mom pops up. I’ve never loved my mom any more than that moment in my life. Just to see her, you just realize what that person means to you. It’s hard to describe the feeling thinking your mom might die and then she popped out of the window like she did”, said Masters. Masters continued, saying “It was the craziest day of my life. I was raised just by her, so if she would have went out like that, I don’t if I ever would have recovered. I was hell-bent on [getting her out]. When I brought her out of the house, the first thing she was worried about was my baby pictures in the old photo album. She’s a tough woman.” Chris Masters was with the WWE from 2005 to 2007, when he was released from his contract after failing the WWE Wellness Policy on two different occasions. Masters was rehired by the WWE in 2009 and spent two years with the company until he was released again in 2011. Currently, “The Masterpiece” is working on the independent wrestling circuit.
