WWE Main Event Results: March 13, 2013By Cassidy| March 14, 2013 WWE Main Event Sneak Attack. The 24th edition of WWE Main Event came to you from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN. With twenty-five nights left until he defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Jack Swagger at WrestleMania 29, World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio would collide with a familiar rival as Del Rio goes one-on-one with the man he defeated back in January to win the title in the first place, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show! Match Results Non-Title: Big Show (with Jack Swagger) def. Alberto Del Rio by count-out. Jimmy & Jey Uso def. Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre by Jey Uso pinning Drew McIntyre following the Superfly Splash. Non-Title: Wade Barrett def. Justin Gabriel by pin following the Bull Hammer Elbow. Detailed Results The show kicks off with the main attraction of WWE Main Event as, in a renewal of their intense rivalry, World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, with Ricardo Rodriguez in his corner, would go one-on-one with the man that he defeated back in January to win the title in the first place, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, in a non-title match. Early on in the match, Del Rio’s challenger at WrestleMania, Jack Swagger, makes his way to the staging area, flanked by Swagger’s mouthpiece and manager, Zeb Colter. During the match, with the referee’s attention on Big Show, Jack Swagger catches Alberto Del Rio with a chop block from behind on the outside and, despite Ricardo Rodriguez trying to help the champion back into the ring, Del Rio was unable to get back into the ring before the referee’s ten-count as Swagger allows Big Show to win via count-out! Two-thirds of 3MB were in action on Main Event as Heath Slater and the injured Drew McIntyre (still suffering the effects of the one-upsmanship battle between Ryback and Mark Henry on RAW), with Jinder Mahal in their corner, faced the second-generation competitors Jimmy & Jey Uso in tag team action. In the end, it was Jey Uso coming off of the top with the Superfly Splash on Drew McIntyre en route to pinning McIntyre to pick up the win for Jimmy & Jey Uso. Before he defends the Intercontinental Championship against both The Miz and Chris Jericho in a Triple Threat Match on next week’s RAW, Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett would go one-on-one with a former teammate and follower in the high-flying Justin Gabriel in a non-title match. In the end, it was Wade Barrett putting Justin Gabriel down with the Bull Hammer Elbow en route to picking up the non-title win. After the match, Wade Barrett would exit the ring and confront one of his two challengers on next Monday’s RAW, The Miz, as Barrett holds the Intercontinental Title above his head right in the face of Miz.
