The Last Of McGuinness UK Screening Tour DetailsBy Kam| March 7, 2013 Wrestling News Press Release Special preview viewings of British wrestling great Nigel McGuinness’ poignant documentary about coming to terms with the end of his career Nigel McGuinness had dreamt of being a professional wrestler ever since he was a child. When adulthood came around he made the decision to chase that dream, hopped on a plane to America and began an epic journey. A journey that would take him all across the globe, cementing his reputation as one of Britain’s greatest wrestling exports. After eleven gruelling years Nigel had to chance to achieve his greatest ambition, to perform on the grandest stage of them all in WWE before millions of fans around the world. Poised on the brink of superstardom, all of the sacrifices and injuries were about to pay off… Just two short years later Nigel was contemplating his retirement. A series of unfortunate events had conspired to deny him his dreams in WWE as well as cut shorta promising run in rival international promotion TNA. The former Ring Of Honor champion now faced an uncertain future, unconvinced that his efforts had been worthwhile. Had it all been for nothing? Had he thrown his life away chasing a dream? Nigel decided to wind up his in ring career with one last wrestling tour around the US and Britain. ‘The Last Of McGuinness’ is the story of that tour. Filmed and edited by Nigel himself, this is a candid, open and honest account of a man coming to terms with the fact that his dream career may well be coming to an end. It’s also a tremendous opportunity to see behind the curtain of professional wrestling and meet the men and women spurred on to succeed in the unforgiving world of the squared circle. Wrestling fan or not, it’s all but impossible to remain unmoved as Nigel looks back over his career and asks ‘Was it all worth it?’. A true life story that bears some comparison to that of Mickey Rourke’s character in Darren Aronosky’s critically acclaimed movie ‘The Wrestler’. Eros Comedy is proud to present this exclusive tour of preview screenings for what is likely to be one of the hottest independant documentaries of the year. Each screening will be followed by an exclusive Q&A with Nigel, giving fans a chance to ask about the film itself as well as his storied career in Ring Of Honor, TNA, Pro Wrestling Noah and beyond. There will also be a meet & greet for fans with a photo opportunity included in the ticket price.
