WWE: Latest Update on Rey Mysterio’s StatusBy Cassidy| February 28, 2013 Wrestling News PWInsider.com is reporting the latest on Rey Mysterio’s WWE status as the former WWE Champion has again been granted some time off to deal with undisclosed family issues. This is why Mysterio has not made an appearance for the last three weeks and is also why he was pulled from the Elimination Chamber Match. Before the injury angle with Mark Henry on the February 4 episode of RAW, Rey had only been back as an active competitor since the Royal Rumble a week before that. It has now been revealed that WWE has pulled Mysterio from all upcoming live events through WrestleMania, which means that Rey will not be appearing on WWE television any time soon and it looks very likely that Rey will not be a part of WrestleMania 29 (which will mark the second year in a row that he has missed out on WrestleMania). WWE was originally planning a Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara match for WrestleMania 29, but both men’s questionable statuses have resulted in that idea being nixed. There is also a lot of uncertainty regarding Rey’s future with the WWE as Mysterio is far from being in the best condition of his career as Rey continues to be plagued by severe issues with his knee, as well as general wear and tear. In his most recent appearances, Mysterio had visibly put on extra weight, which would suggest that Mysterio has not been working out lately. There is absolutely no rumors or any sort of inkling as to what family issues Rey is currently dealing with as Rey and the few people that are close to Mysterio within the WWE are staying silent on the matter.
