After making it clear on RAW that he is far from done in his war against The Shield, Sheamus would be in action on Main Event as “The Celtic Warrior” would square off with the man with the self-professed “lovestache”, Cody Rhodes in the main attraction of WWE Main Event. Match Results Sheamus def. Cody Rhodes by pin following the Brogue Kick. Mark Henry def. Justin Gabriel by pin following the World’s Strongest Slam. Detailed Results In a confrontation from earlier in the day, Divas Champion Kaitlyn bumps into Cody Rhodes in the backstage area as the two have an awkward exchange where Kaitlyn asks if they are trying to dance, but snorts when she laughs. Rhodes responds by saying that he does have some “moves”, but Kaitlyn asks Rhodes if his “lovestache” has the moves. Sheamus then arrives on the scene, calling Rhodes “Magnum P.I.”, to which Rhodes responds to by calling Sheamus, “handlebar”. Sheamus then says that his facial hair is not a “caterpillar”, but it does the job. Rhodes argues that he is a “grown man” and says that Sheamus keeps getting involved in his business and disrespecting him. Rhodes then proposes that they settle it in the ring and, when Sheamus reminds him that he won the last time they faced each other, Rhodes calls the win a “fluke”, vowing to finish what they started tonight. Sheamus agrees to the match before walking off and Rhodes comments that “tonight, the lovestache strikes back”, which causes Kaitlyn to snicker. The opening match of the night was the main attraction of WWE Main Event as “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus went one-on-one with “The Master of the Lovestache” Cody Rhodes. Despite holding his own against Sheamus for much of the match, Cody Rhodes would still fall to the Brogue Kick en route to “The Celtic Warrior” picking up the win. As he continues to squash anyone who stands in his way, “The World’s Strongest Man” was in action on Main Event as Mark Henry went one-on-one with the high-flying Justin Gabriel. In another dominant display, it was Mark Henry planting Justin Gabriel with the World’s Strongest Slam en route to picking up the win. What did you think of this week’s Main Event?
