WWE Spoilers: RAW Celebrating 20th Anniversary on January 14!By Cassidy| December 26, 2012 Wrestling News During last night’s Christmas Eve edition of RAW, local advertisements revealed that the January 14 edition of RAW will be a celebration of another huge milestone in WWE history, the 20th anniversary of Monday Night RAW. The flagship show of the WWE premiered on January 11, 1993 and, twenty years later, only one Superstar is still an active competitor now that was also on the very first episode of RAW and that is The Undertaker. RAW’s 20th Anniversary Celebration will emanate from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. WWE has not yet made any announcements regarding any special guests, but a Shawn Michaels appearance seems all but a certainty with RAW airing from his home state. RAW’s 20th Anniversary Celebration comes less than six months after RAW celebrated its 1,000th Episode on July 23. The same week that RAW celebrates 20 years on the air, SmackDown will also make history as the January 18 show will mark the 700th episode of SmackDown, which will be taped on Tuesday, January 15 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. SmackDown premiered on April 29, 1999 and was originally intended to only be a one-time only special, but the show’s popularity led to it becoming WWE’s secondary show and, a few years later, WWE’s second brand as SmackDown would make the trip from UPN to The CW to MyNetworkTV to its current home on Syfy.
