WWE RAW Results: December 10, 2012By Cassidy| December 11, 2012 WWE Raw Tables, Ladders, & Chaos. Six nights before WWE TLC, the 1020th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. After suffering a torn meniscus in his knee following an attack by Ryback on last week’s RAW, WWE Champion CM Punk is scheduled to make an appearance on RAW for the first time since his emergency knee surgery last Tuesday. With CM Punk unable to compete at WWE TLC, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon released a statement announcing a huge 6-Man TLC Tag Match between the trio known as The Shield and the formidable team of the #1 Contender for the WWE Title, Ryback, and the WWE Tag Team Champions, Team Hell No, and, for the first time ever, the TLC Match can only end by pinfall or submission. With all of these combustible elements present on RAW, what kind of destruction will occur just six nights before their war at WWE TLC? Match Results R-Truth def. Wade Barrett by roll-up. Fatal 4-Way Elimination Tag Match: Team Rhodes Scholars def. Primo & Epico, The Prime Time Players, and Jimmy & Jey Uso to advance to WWE TLC to face Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara in a Tables Match to determine the new #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Jimmy & Jey Uso elim. Primo & Epico by Jey Uso pinning Primo following the Superfly Splash. Jimmy & Jey Uso elim. The Prime Time Players by Jey Uso pinning Darren Young following the Superfly Splash. Team Rhodes Scholars elim. Jimmy & Jey Uso by Cody Rhodes pinning Jimmy Uso following Cross Rhodes. Non-Title: Eve def. Alicia Fox by pin following a swinging neckbreaker. Sheamus def. Dolph Ziggler by DQ after Dolph Ziggler hits Sheamus with a steel chair. Alberto Del Rio def. Zack Ryder by submission to the cross armbreaker. Special Referee- Brad Maddox: Vickie Guerrero (with Brad Maddox) def. AJ Lee by roll-up. Champion vs. Champion: Antonio Cesaro def. Kofi Kingston by pin following the Neutralizer. Non-Title: John Cena def. Big Show by DQ after The Shield interferes. Detailed Results Six nights before he puts his Money-in-the-Bank briefcase on the line in a Ladder Match against John Cena at WWE TLC, RAW kicks off with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Dolph Ziggler standing atop a ladder with his briefcase hanging above. Ziggler states that he is right where he belongs, “on top”, saying that he is out there to talk about two numbers, “6” and “15”. Dolph says that there six days before WWE TLC and 15 days until Christmas, but for John Cena, Christmas comes early at WWE TLC. Dolph continues, saying that, after Cena cashed in Money-in-the-Bank and lost, the “golden boy” has been given countless opportunities, but has continued to fail. Ziggler then says that Mr. McMahon has forced him to put his Money-in-the-Bank opportunity up for grabs, vowing that Cena will not have a “Merry Christmas”, saying that, once and for all, he is going to beat John Cena and give himself the greatest gift of all when he cashes in the Money-in-the-Bank opportunity on Big Show to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. One man who took exception to the proclamations of Dolph Ziggler was the challenger for the World Heavyweight Title at WWE TLC, “The Great White” Sheamus. Sheamus says that, in their Chairs Match at WWE TLC, he is going to defeat Big Show and become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Sheamus then says that he does not think that Dolph Ziggler can beat John Cena and is he is betting on him facing Cena for the title in the future. World Heavyweight Champion Big Show then comes out, calling both Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler “delusional” before saying that he would like nothing more than to come down there and “smear” Sheamus all around the ring, but violating the no contact clause would cost him the World Heavyweight Title. Big Show then dares Dolph to go ahead and try to cash in on him because he will knock Dolph Ziggler out as well! Big Show continues, saying that he cannot decide whether to knock Sheamus out with the K.O. Punch or smash Sheamus’ skull in with a steel chair. Sheamus responds, saying that, while the no contact clause keeps him from getting his hands on Big Show, there is someone he can get his hands on. With that, Sheamus then grabs the ladder, pushing it over with Dolph Ziggler getting ‘split’ on the top rope! On RAW, Wade Barrett was set for action, but WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon comes out. The Chairman apologizes for the interruption before hyping up the main event of John Cena vs. World Heavyweight Champion Big Show before bringing out RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. McMahon then coaxes Vickie to make another main event match for RAW between Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler, but the Chairman pushes Vickie for a third main event on RAW! Vickie pitches the idea of putting AJ Lee in a Handicap Match, but the Chairman takes part of Vickie’s idea and puts his own spin on it, announcing that AJ Lee will go one-on-one with Vickie Guerrero! With Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston and United States Champion Antonio Cesaro guests on commentary, #1 Contenders would face off on RAW as R-Truth would go one-on-one with “The Bareknuckle Brawler” Wade Barrett. In the end, it was the veteran R-Truth surprising Wade Barrett with a roll-up en route to picking up the win. After the match, R-Truth would confront Antonio Cesaro, but in the ring, Kofi Kingston leaps off of the top rope, taking Wade Barrett down with a high cross body! Back in action following a concussion and strained shoulder last month, Cody Rhodes would reunite with Damien Sandow as Team Rhodes Scholars, Primo & Epico, Jimmy & Jey Uso, and The Prime Time Players would face off in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Tag Match with the winners advancing to WWE TLC to face Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara in a Tables Match to determine the new #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles. The first team to go was Primo & Epico as Jey Uso hits the Superfly Splash on Primo en route to eliminating the former tag team champions. Shortly after this, Jimmy & Jey Uso would take The Prime Time Players out of the match as Jey Uso hits the Superfly Splash on Darren Young en route to eliminating the team, leaving only two teams in the match. Despite dominating the majority of the match, one mistake would cost Jimmy & Jey Uso as, when Jimmy Uso comes off of the top rope with the Superfly Splash, Cody Rhodes would get his knees up. This would allow Rhodes to hit Cross Rhodes on Jimmy Uso en route to picking up the win for his team, ensuring that Team Rhodes Scholars will face Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara in a Tables Match at WWE TLC with the winners becoming the new #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles. It was announced during RAW that next week’s RAW will commemorate the best of 2012 with the annual WWE Slammy Awards with all of the winners being determined by the WWE fans via WWE Active on the new WWE App! The eight awards being handed out at the 2012 Slammy Awards will be Superstar of the Year, Breakout Star of the Year, Trending Now Award, Comeback of the Year, Kiss of the Year, “Tell Me I Did NOT Just See That” Award, LOL Moment of the Year, and Match of the Year. Who will win the Superstar of the Year? How about Match of the Year? In a rare appearance, the Divas Champion was in action on RAW as Eve went one-on-one with Alicia Fox in a non-title match. In the end, it was Eve hitting the swinging neckbreaker on Alicia Fox en route to picking up the win. After the match, the Divas Champion would insist on having a ringside photographer take pictures of her posing next to the downed Alicia Fox. For the first time since his emergency knee surgery to remove a piece of torn meniscus last Tuesday, WWE Champion CM Punk, along with Paul Heyman, would appear on RAW, coming out to the staging area on crutches. The WWE Champion says that there are several people in the WWE who believe that his injury is a hoax and that he is just trying to dodge another title defense against Ryback. Punk continues, saying that his injury and subsequent surgery is legitimate and injuries like his are just a reality of being the WWE Champion for 388 grueling days. Punk then presents footage showing how he was injured last week, showing Ryback’s attack on him where the #1 Contender drops Punk with Shell Shocked, waylay Punk with a steel chair and a ladder before driving Punk through a table. Paul Heyman then speaks, saying that Punk is a “legitimate champion”, saying that Punk did not have a “stunt double” last week like The Rock does! Heyman continues, saying that Punk is not complaining, Punk is standing out there, while The Rock is not. Heyman then says that Punk sees what is in front of him and what is not in front of him is Ryback, saying that Punk is looking forward to his title defense against The Rock at the Royal Rumble. Punk then addresses the group of people who believe that he should be stripped of the WWE Title, daring any one of them to come and try to take his title away. Punk says that guys like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, and Chris Jericho have all failed to take the title away from him and, when The Rock gets his title shot, it will be his only shot, saying that The Rock will fail just like all the others. CM Punk then reveals that he will be present at WWE TLC to see The Shield do to Ryback what Ryback did to him last week! Before he challenges Big Show for the World Heavyweight Title in a Chairs Match at WWE TLC, “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus went one-on-one with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Dolph Ziggler on RAW. Amidst a hotly contested match, Dolph Ziggler would dodge the Brogue Kick, rolling to the outside of the ring. Sheamus would then pursue Ziggler, but Dolph grabs a steel chair, driving it into Sheamus’ mid-section, resulting in a disqualification! Back in the ring, Dolph Ziggler would land another chair shot on Sheamus’ back, but when Dolph hones in for another shot, Sheamus knocks the chair out of Dolph’s hands with the Brogue Kick! As if the WWE Slammy Awards on next week’s RAW were not big enough, it will be WWE Week on the USA Network next week as Monday will see the Slammy Awards edition of RAW, Tuesday will feature a special, commercial-free presentation of Super SmackDown LIVE, Wednesday will feature the 10th Annual WWE Tribute to the Troops, Thursday will feature an episode of Burn Notice with special guest star Big Show, and Friday will feature a showing of the movie, The Game Plan, with WWE Champion CM Punk hosting. Alberto Del Rio was in action on RAW as “The Mexican Aristocrat” went one-on-one with Zack Ryder. In the end, it was Alberto Del Rio locking in the cross armbreaker on Zack Ryder, forcing Ryder to tap out to pick up the win. After weeks of being the victim of a made-up scandal between her and John Cena at the hands of Vickie Guerrero, AJ Lee would get her shot at revenge as AJ went one-on-one with RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and, after a short time with no referee, none other than the former “rogue referee”, Brad Maddox, comes out to referee the match! While the initial confusion of having Brad Maddox appear as the referee for the match distracts AJ Lee, Vickie Guerrero would take advantage, briefly taking it to AJ Lee. However, AJ would battle back, pummeling Vickie before delivering a hard slap to the face of the Managing Supervisor, but Brad Maddox would refuse to count the pinfall! This leads to a confrontation between AJ and Brad Maddox and Vickie takes advantage, rolling AJ up as Maddox counts the fall for Vickie and Vickie wins the match! After the match, AJ Lee goes ballistic, hurling steel chairs, dismantling the announce table, and even slapping ring announcer Justin Roberts across the face! After being the victim of Vickie Guerrero’s hired gun, Brad Maddox, in a biased loss to the Managing Supervisor, AJ Lee was still livid backstage, hurling everything in sight. However, John Cena would confront AJ, embracing AJ and getting her to calm down. In a rematch from last week’s WWE Main Event that ended inconclusively, it was Champion vs. Champion on RAW as Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston went one-on-one with United States Champion Antonio Cesaro. At the end of an incredible, back-and-forth match, Antonio Cesaro catches Kofi Kingston in mid-air and put down with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Cesaro then follows up, hitting the Neutralizer on Kofi en route to picking up the win over the Intercontinental Champion. After surviving the Fatal 4-Way Elimination Tag Match earlier in the night to advance to a Tables Match against Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara at WWE TLC to determine the new #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles, Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow would join The Miz as Team Rhodes Scholars appear on Miz TV. The Miz appears first, introducing his guests as “the beard-o and the weird-o”. Team Rhodes Scholars then come out as Damien Sandow re-introduces the fans to the “new and improved” Cody Rhodes. Rhodes says that The Miz spends most of his time watching YouTube videos of himself in the main event of last year’s WrestleMania, so he may not be aware that Team Rhodes Scholars is a “shining beacon of light”. Rhodes continues, saying they are like Princeton University, an “intellectual island” that is forced to exist in a state full of the “most dense Americans” in the country. Miz then says that he “mustache” Rhodes a question, asking if Rhodes got his mustache from kissing Sandow! The Miz tells Rhodes & Sandow that they think that they can beat Team Hell No for the WWE Tag Team Titles, but they will not even make it past Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara at WWE TLC. Sandow calls Miz’s questions “repugnant”, referring to himself and Rhodes as the future WWE Tag Team Champions. Miz then asks the tough questions, asking how Rhodes how he feels that Sandow never visited Rhodes while he was recovering from his injuries. Miz also asks Rhodes how it feels to know that Sandow tells everyone that he has been carrying Rhodes and how Rhodes feels about Sandow saying that Rhodes will always be “overshadowed” by someone, whether it be Rhodes’ father, Dusty Rhodes, or whoever Rhodes has as a tag team partner. Rhodes says that he has heard it all before, calling Miz TV a “trash TV show” before declaring the interview over with Team Rhodes Scholars storming off of the stage. Then it was time for the main event as the ten-time former WWE Champion John Cena would go one-on-one with World Heavyweight Champion Big Show in a non-title match, with John Cena’s WWE TLC opponent, Dolph Ziggler, a guest on commentary. During the match, John Cena would hit the Attitude Adjustment on Big Show, but with both men down, The Shield would strike! Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, & Roman Reigns target John Cena, pummeling Cena before getting a table and a ladder and putting them into the ring. All hell then breaks loose as Team Hell No marches to the ring with The Shield in their sights, sparking an all-out brawl that Dolph Ziggler gets in on, putting his focus on John Cena. Big Show then gets involved in the massive brawl, leading to Sheamus coming out and, with putting his hands on Big Show not an option, Sheamus goes after Ziggler, assaulting Dolph on the outside. Meanwhile, in the ring, Big Show tries to deliver a chokeslam to John Cena, but Cena counters, putting the World Heavyweight Champion through a table! The Shield continues to assault Team Hell No, but Ryback makes his way to the ring, grabbing a ladder and tossing it at The Shield, knocking all three down! “The Sin City Cyborg” then hits the ring, joining Team Hell No in fighting back against The Shield as John Cena and Big Show, as well as Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler, resume their respective wars as WWE TLC opponents collide in a destructive brawl of massive proportions!
