WWE Spoilers: The Latest Update on CM Punk’s ConditionBy Cassidy| December 6, 2012 Wrestling News After this past Monday night’s RAW, WWE Champion CM Punk took a flight to Pensacola, FL for a consultation with world-renowned sports physician, Dr. James Andrews. On Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Andrews did an emergency surgery on CM Punk’s left knee to remove a piece of torn meniscus from the area. It is now being reported by several sources that Punk has been working with the injured for the past few weeks and WWE decided to do the angle on RAW that saw Ryback attack Punk with a steel chair, a ladder, and, finally, putting Punk through a table, which would put the storyline blame on Ryback for injuring the WWE Champion. The truth of the matter is that Punk has been dealing with the knee injury for a little while now (though it is unknown when he initially suffered the injury) and the WWE has tried their best to conceal the injury over recent weeks as CM Punk has not competed in an actual match in two weeks and even that match was kept relatively short. F4WOnline.com is reporting that CM Punk is only expected to be out of action for a few weeks while he recovers from the surgery, but that is not set in stone and Punk’s official time frame for a return will likely be known in a few days. As of now, CM Punk is still expected to appear on this Monday’s RAW and will likely keep appearing in a non-competitive role until the doctors inform him that it is safe to wrestle again. There is speculation that CM Punk may reprise his role as a guest color commentator, similar to what he did in 2010 when he was dealing with a hip injury and was unable to compete for a short amount of time. Whatever they decide to do with Punk, there are no plans to take the WWE Title off of him and the title match against The Rock at the Royal Rumble will still take place, unless complications arise with Punk’s recovery. As originally reported by WWE.com on Tuesday night, the originally scheduled TLC Match between CM Punk and Ryback for the WWE Title will be replaced by a 6-Man TLC Tag Match between The Shield (Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, & Roman Reigns) and the team of Ryback & Team Hell No and the match can only end via pinfall or submission. This 6-Man TLC Tag Match was intentionally built up over the last couple of weeks as the WWE knew ahead of time that they would have to scrap the Punk vs. Ryback match.
