Detailed Results With United States Champion Antonio Cesaro a guest on commentary, WWE Main Event kicks off with the 20-Man Battle Royal as Team Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow), 3MB’s Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre, Brodus Clay, Zack Ryder, William Regal, Ted DiBiase, Yoshi Tatsu, Tyson Kidd, Justin Gabriel, Primo, Epico, The Prime Time Players (Darren Young & Titus O’Neil), Jimmy & Jey Uso, Santino Marella, The Great Khali, & Wade Barrett would all go to war with the winner earning a shot at the United States Championship on next week’s WWE Main Event! Early on in the match, Yoshi Tatsu would make the mistake of trying to eliminate the largest man in the match, The Great Khali, by himself, but easily dealt with by the former World Heavyweight Champion, who eliminates Tatsu from the Battle Royal. Primo was the next Superstar to go as Brodus Clay hurled the former tag team champion over the top rope and out of the match. Another former tag team champion would not survive the Battle Royal as Tyson Kidd is able to leverage Drew McIntyre over the top rope to the outside. However, Drew McIntyre was determined to not allow Tyson Kidd to continue on in the match as, with Kidd still on the apron and brawling with Jinder Mahal, McIntyre would pull Kidd off of the ring apron, eliminating Kidd. Seconds later, Kidd’s tag team partner, Justin Gabriel, would sacrifice himself to eliminate Jinder Mahal as Gabriel hits a cross body on Mahal that sends both men careening over the top rope, sparking a brawl between both teams on the outside! The next elimination would see Wade Barrett sending Jey Uso over the top rope shortly before Damien Sandow sends the veteran William Regal over the top rope and out of the match. Santino Marella then scores an elimination, taking Epico out of the match. Then, in a brief battle between “The Punjabi Giant” and “The Funkasaurus”, The Great Khali is able to wrench Brodus Clay over the top rope to the floor, leaving only one super heavyweight in the Battle Royal. Jimmy Uso then takes his leave from the match, courtesy of Zack Ryder, before Ted DiBiase is eliminated by Team Rhodes Scholars. The Great Khali then easily disposes of The Prime Time Players and Team Rhodes Scholars as Khali tosses Titus O’Neil to the outside, who is quickly joined by Darren Young, Cody Rhodes, and Damien Sandow, leaving only Khali, Santino Marella, Zack Ryder, & Wade Barrett remaining! After working with his tag team partner, Zack Ryder, to get the advantage in the match, Santino Marella would surprise his tag partner by eliminating Ryder from the match. While Santino is trying to explain himself to Zack Ryder, Wade Barrett spots the opportunity for an easy elimination as Barrett eliminates Santino from the match, leaving only Barrett and The Great Khali. Wade Barrett manages to take it his bigger adversary, but the size and power of The Great Khali would prove too much for “The Bareknuckle Brawler” as Khali delivers a chop to Barrett’s skull, knocking Barrett off of the ring apron to the outside as “The Punjabi Giant” The Great Khali wins the 20-Man Battle Royal and will challenge Antonio Cesaro for the United States Championship on next week’s Main Event! After the match, Antonio Cesaro enters the ring, offering to shake the hand of his new #1 Contender, which Khali accepts. Is there any way that Antonio Cesaro can overcome The Great Khali and retain his United States Title? Backstage, The Great Khali is being interviewed about becoming the new #1 Contender for the United States Title when United States Champion Antonio Cesaro attacks Khali from behind, attempting to send a message to “The Punjabi Giant”. However, Cesaro would be left in shock as Khali fights back, knocking the United States Champion down with a chop to the chest! The Great Khali then picks up the United States Title belt, telling Cesaro that he will see him next week. After 3MB’s Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre came up short in the 20-Man Battle Royal, 3MB would be looking to rebound as Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre, with the supposedly injured Heath Slater in their corner, would face Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel in tag team action. In the end, it was Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel using a double team neckbreaker on Jinder Mahal en route to Tyson Kidd pinning Jinder Mahal for the win. What did you think of this week’s Main Event?
