WWE RAW Results: October 29, 2012By Cassidy| October 29, 2012 WWE Raw Serious Survivors. One night after an unbelievable and controversial Hell in a Cell, the 1014th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC. After nearly a year as WWE Champion, CM Punk’s historic reign was all but over inside the demonic Hell in a Cell, but when the hungry challenger, Ryback, went to put Punk away with Shell Shocked, it was the world that was shocked as the referee for the match actually stopped Ryback in his tracks with a low blow to the #1 Contender! This allowed CM Punk to roll Ryback up as the crooked referee fast-counted the pinfall, ending Ryback’s undefeated streak and keeping the WWE Title with CM Punk, but Ryback extracted his revenge after the match was over as “The Sin City Cyborg” hurled the referee from pillar-to-post and into the side of the Hell in a Cell structure before dropping CM Punk with Shell Shocked on the Cell’s roof! After all of this, there is a long list of questions that need answered, did CM Punk bribe the referee to help him retain the WWE Title? Is there some sort of past relationship between the two? Also, after AJ Lee’s public resignation following allegations of AJ having an affair with John Cena, RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero claims that she has undisputable evidence of the affair and that she will reveal this evidence live on RAW and, not only that, but Vickie has invited AJ Lee to RAW to see the evidence for herself! Match Results Ryback def. JTG by pin following Shell Shocked. Randy Orton def. Wade Barrett by pin following the RKO. Non-Title: Team Hell No def. The Prime Time Players by Darren Young tapping out to Daniel Bryan’s No Lock. Champion vs. Champion: Non-Title: Kofi Kingston def. Antonio Cesaro by DQ after The Miz interferes. Justin Gabriel by submission to the cross armbreaker. Detailed Results One night after a low blow from the referee of the match directly led to his retention of the WWE Championship against Ryback inside Hell in a Cell, RAW kicks off with the banged up WWE Champion, CM Punk, along with his associate, Paul Heyman. The WWE Champion states that they all thought that Ryback was unbeatable and that he was just going to be added to the list of bodies that Ryback has accumulated since his debut, but they were all “wrong”. Punk continues that he has proven them wrong since “day one” and he has defeated each and every one of their “heroes”, going through everything that was thrown his way. Punk then says that Rey Mysterio thought he could fly his way to defeating him, but he put Rey down with the GTS and Randy Orton vowed to put Punk in the hospital, but he proved that his Anaconda Vise is stronger than any “Viper”. Punk continues that, there was a time when the “resident Superman” of the WWE was John Cena, but he served as the “Kryptonite” on several occasions before saying that Ryback is not even “in the conversation”. The WWE Champion then says that his victory at Hell in a Cell should be “applauded”, but people have accuses him of convincing a referee to put his hands on Ryback. However, Punk claims that he had “nothing to do with it” and the only thing that he is guilty of is taking advantage of a situation produced by the actions of a “rogue official” by the name of Brad Maddox. Punk continues that Maddox was hired by former General Manager AJ Lee, again stating that he had nothing to do with what Maddox did at Hell in a Cell. Punk then proclaims that he is “inerasable” and he is the “best in the world”, saying that, on his 344th day as the WWE Champion, he can look in his “rearview mirror” and see Ryback because he has beaten Ryback and there will be no rematch for Ryback. The WWE Champion is then interrupted by a surprise guest as “The Hardcore Legend” himself, Mick Foley, makes his way to the ring with a purpose. CM Punk asks what Foley is doing there, saying that he kicked Foley’s ass the last time he was there. Foley says that Punk did an excellent job of “embarrassing” himself at Hell in a Cell and, last month, he gave Punk a “chance” to solidify his legacy inside Hell in a Cell. Punk argues that Foley’s “tradition” is the reason that he is bandaged and beat-up, saying that Foley keeps “popping up”. Punk continues that they are approaching Survivor Series, where he won the WWE Title last year before challenging Foley to a Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match, a challenge that Foley accepts! Before Punk can ask who will make up Team Foley, Ryback marches to the ring and the WWE Champion makes a quick retreat through the crowd. Will Ryback join Mick Foley on Team Foley? Who will join CM Punk on Team Punk? After running CM Punk out of the ring, “The Sin City Cyborg” was in action on RAW as JTG had the unfortunate task of facing Ryback! Ryback made easy work of his latest victim, dropping JTG with Shell Shocked en route to picking up the win. After the match, Ryback proclaims that, the next time he “feeds”, it will be on CM Punk! Following an impressive victory over Alberto Del Rio at Hell in a Cell, Randy Orton was in action on RAW as “The Viper” went one-on-one with “The Bareknuckle Brawler” Wade Barrett. In the end, it was Randy Orton catching Wade Barrett with the RKO en route to picking up the win. Backstage, RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero confronts former General Manager AJ Lee and AJ again tells Vickie that she did not have an affair, saying that she and John Cena are just friends. Vickie then reveals that the WWE Board of Directors has entrusted her with the decision to re-hire AJ Lee as an in-ring performer. Vickie then says that she has to determine whether she can effectively compete under her administration. AJ then says that she is “sorry”, saying that she wants to be able to compete again. Vickie then asks AJ what she thinks her biggest flaw is and AJ says that she can, sometimes, become too “emotionally attached” to her job and Vickie taunts AJ by asking if she is “crazy”, saying that, when she comes back, she wants to hear a good reason why she should let AJ return as a competitor. After Kane lost it at Hell in a Cell, pummeling Team Rhodes Scholars to the point of getting disqualified, the WWE Tag Team Champions, Team Hell No, squared off against The Prime Time Players in a non-title match on RAW. During the match, Kane would plant Darren Young with the chokeslam, but Daniel Bryan tags himself in, locking in the No Lock on Young, forcing him to tap out to pick up the win for Team Hell No. A brief history on the controversial referee who blatantly cost Ryback the WWE Title at Hell in a Cell was delivered on RAW as the referee, Brad Maddox, is a rookie referee who was hired by former General Manager AJ Lee during her time in power. Maddox had a situation last month where he was refereeing a tag team match featuring CM Punk and John Cena where Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Punk and, despite Punk’s foot being on the bottom rope, Maddox still made the three-count. It is then revealed that Brad Maddox cannot be located by anyone as several people want to question the referee about his actions. RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero then appears on RAW, saying that he is out there to assure everyone that it is the start of a new “era” of RAW, an era of “credibility and integrity”. Vickie continues that she had promised undisputable evidence of the relationship between John Cena and AJ Lee before the Managing Supervisor brings out the man who is at the “heart” of the AJ scandal, John Cena. Cena says that Vickie’s actions were “outrageous” last week and he is only out there to clear things up and see Vickie’s proof. Vickie then shows footage from three weeks ago where Cena publicly asked AJ Lee out on a date and Cena says that, like countless other things that he has said in the ring, that was a “joke”. However, Vickie has more evidence to show as she shows a clip from last week’s RAW where Cena hugs AJ Lee following AJ’s resignation. Cena says that he was being a good friend to AJ last week. Vickie then shows another piece of evidence, a picture of Cena having dinner with AJ and Cena explains that was the business dinner that he talked about last week, a dinner where he and AJ discussed his return to the ring following his arm surgery last month. Vickie then shows even more footage, this time, it was footage of AJ Lee getting into an elevator with Cena. Vickie accuses Cena of “coaxing” AJ into the elevator and Cena explains that it was just them getting into an elevator, saying that he just walked AJ to her door and that was it. Vickie then alleges that AJ invited Cena into her room, calling AJ “unstable” and “ugly”. Cena stands up for AJ Lee, saying that AJ is more “resilient” and more “attractive” than Vickie could ever be! Vickie then tries to turn Cena’s words against him, saying that it is “so sweet” that Cena thinks so highly of AJ. Cena then stumbles to explain himself before “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Dolph Ziggler interrupts, saying that Cena just cannot control his “sophomoric urges”. Cena then grabs Dolph by the collar of his shirt, telling “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” to never mention Cena and AJ’s name in the same sentence ever again. Cena then shoves Ziggler down before storming out of the ring. Following their respective title defenses at Hell in a Cell, two champions would square off on RAW as Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston went one-on-one with United States Champion Antonio Cesaro in a Champion vs. Champion Match with The Miz a guest on commentary. During the match, Kofi Kingston gets into an argument with The Miz at ringside and, shortly after this, Kofi tosses Antonio Cesaro into The Miz. This results in The Miz attacking Kofi Kingston, ending the match via disqualification. After the match, The Miz and Antonio Cesaro try to beat down the Intercontinental Champion, but Kofi’s former tag partner, R-Truth, makes the save as Truth and Kofi clear the ring of Miz and Cesaro. Backstage, AJ Lee tells Vickie Guerrero that there is nothing between her and John Cena, badgering AJ to admit to liking Cena. AJ says that she refuses to admit a lie, saying that getting back on the active roster is not worth lying for. Despite this, Vickie still hires AJ back with the condition that, if AJ ever puts her hands on Vickie again, then AJ will never work in the WWE again! The Managing Supervisor then announces that AJ will go one-on-one with “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix on RAW. Two-thirds of 3MB was in action on RAW as Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal, with Drew McIntyre in their corner, faced Zack Ryder & Santino Marella in tag team action. In the end, it was a distraction by Drew McIntyre that would allow Heath Slater to hit the Drum Solo on Santino Marella en route to picking up the win. A big announcement was made during RAW that, in two weeks’ time, Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler returns to the announce position for the first time since suffering a heart attack during RAW in early September! Returning to action after being forced to resign as the General Manager last week, AJ Lee went one-on-one with “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix on RAW. In the end, it was AJ Lee catching Beth Phoenix with a roll-up out of nowhere, scoring the upset over “The Glamazon”. After the match, Vickie Guerrero comes out and says that, if AJ wants to be a Diva, then she expects more out of AJ. Beth Phoenix then blasts AJ from behind before Vickie announces that the match will be restarted right now! In the second match in a row, Beth Phoenix drops AJ Lee with the Glam Slam en route to picking up the win! One night after a K.O. Punch from Big Show led to the end of his near eight-month reign as World Heavyweight Champion, former champion Sheamus appeared on RAW to discuss his title loss. Sheamus says that he is out there with a smile on his face and no title around his waist, admitting that he is “disappointed” to have lost the title before saying that, at Hell in a Cell, Big Show was the “better man”. Sheamus continues that he didn’t come to the WWE to always win, he came to the WWE to fight and Hell in a Cell was the “greatest fight” of his life. Sheamus then says that he pushed Big Show to the limit, but Big Show ultimately won the “battle”. Sheamus then declares that the “war” is far from over and he is “dying” for another fight with Big Show and, when they face each other again, it is going to be an “all-out war” that will end with the World Heavyweight Title back around his waist! This brings out the new World Heavyweight Champion, Big Show, as the elated champion makes his way to the ring. Big Show says that Sheamus is hiding the “truth” that Sheamus threw everything he had at Big Show, but Big Show did what he said he was going to do by knocking Sheamus out and leaving with the World Heavyweight Title. Big Show then admits that their match made him dig deeper than ever, saying that he has “no limits” and that Sheamus wanting to fight him again is like bringing a glass of water to a burning building. Big Show says that he looks forward to knocking Sheamus’ head off, calling Sheamus a “red-headed ginger snap” and proclaiming that Sheamus cannot beat him and Sheamus will never be able to take the title from him. Sheamus then poses the question if Big Show has ever seen a “ginger snap”. With that, Sheamus hoists Big Show up and drops the new World Heavyweight Champion with his signature White Noise maneuver! Backstage, John Cena is talking with AJ Lee, putting his arm around AJ and vowing that everything is going to be alright. As Cena departs, followed by AJ, Vickie Guerrero is seen in the background, spying on their conversation. Beth Phoenix then approaches Vickie, thanking the Managing Supervisor for restarting her match with AJ, but Vickie says that, if Beth Phoenix would have done her job right in the first place, then she would not have needed to restart the match. Vickie then says that she will not tolerate a performance like that before dropping the bombshell on Beth Phoenix that, effective immediately, Beth Phoenix is fired! Following their disqualification win over WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No at Hell in a Cell, Team Rhodes Scholars faced Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara on RAW. At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Damien Sandow dropping Sin Cara with the Terminus en route to picking up the win for Team Rhodes Scholars. As National Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, John Cena and the WWE roster appeared to present a check in the amount of $1,000,000 all donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure! After his loss to Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell, Alberto Del Rio was in action on RAW as “The Mexican Aristocrat” went one-on-one with Justin Gabriel. In the end, it was Alberto Del Rio locking in the cross armbreaker, forcing Justin Gabriel to tap out to pick up the win. Earlier in the night, WWE Champion CM Punk challenged “The Hardcore Legend” Mick Foley to a Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match at Survivor Series and, on RAW, both Punk and Foley would reveal who would join Team Punk and Team Foley! Paul Heyman appears in the ring first to introduce his associate, the WWE Champion CM Punk, who makes his way to the ring and makes a grand unveiling of the cover of the WWE ’13 video game, which features the champion himself. Heyman then tells Punk that, when Punk asked him to form Team Punk, it reminded him that his goal in life is to serve the “best in the world”, CM Punk. Heyman then unveils the first member of Team Punk in former WWE Champion and former Intercontinental Champion, The Miz. Heyman then introduces a team who Heyman calls the future tag team champions in Team Rhodes Scholars, Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow, who will be a part of Team Punk. Heyman then brings out the final member of Team Punk in a former rival of CM Punk and the man who Punk defeated for the WWE Title last year in “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio! CM Punk then says that Survivor Series will be a “celebration” of his one-year reign as champion and nothing would be better to celebrate than to beat down a “delusional” legend like Mick Foley. Punk then vows to teach Foley about “respect” and will teach Foley what it takes to “survive”. Mick Foley then comes out to reveal his picks for Team Foley, saying that what Punk has done in recent weeks is “weasel” out of situations. Foley then says that he has a hard time calling Punk a “man” because a man would not enlist the help of a crooked referee, but Punk again denies any involvement in what the referee did. Foley then unveils who will join him on Team Foley as Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston, WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No, and “The Viper” Randy Orton! With Team Punk and Team Foley face-to-face in the ring, CM Punk says that Team Punk’s plan is to eliminate every member of Team Foley except for Mick Foley and then beat Foley down and teach him some respect! However, Foley reveals that, while he is the captain of Team Foley, he will not be competing at Survivor Series as he will be in the corner of Team Foley and, following this bombshell, Foley reveals the fifth and final member of his team, “The Sin City Cyborg” Ryback! As Ryback makes his way to the ring, all hell breaks loose in the ring as Team Foley brawls with Team Punk as Ryback stands in the center of the ring, staring down the WWE Champion as Punk backs away from the ring! Ryback is then joined by the rest of Team Foley in the ring as Cody Rhodes tries to make a run at Ryback, Ryback drops Rhodes with the Meat Hook Clothesline and, in a clear message to CM Punk, Ryback drills Cody Rhodes with Shell Shocked!
