Detailed Results Two weeks ago on SmackDown, Randy Orton was assaulted by Alberto Del Rio, which would eventually cause Orton to lose to Big Show in a #1 Contender’s Match, which was followed by a second assault from Del Rio. In the main attraction of WWE Main Event, “The Viper” would return to action as Randy Orton goes one-on-one with the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show. During the match, Big Show would work over the previously injured ribs of Randy Orton, but “The Viper” battles back, managing to hit the RKO on Big Show in the ring. Unfortunately for Orton, Big Show would roll out of the ring and, when Orton goes for the RKO on the arena floor, Big Show counters, shoving Orton into the ring apron. Big Show then continues the punishment in the ring, locking in the Colossal Clutch on Orton, but Big Show releases the hold to deal out more punishment on the injured ribs, dropping countless elbows on the injury. Big Show then locks the hold in again, but “The Viper” wiggles out of the maneuver, but Big Show finally puts Orton down with a thunderous chokeslam, pinning Orton for the win. After the match, a remorseless Big Show exits the ring as the referee and EMT’s tend to Randy Orton in the ring. Big Show then comments, post-match, saying that, in two weeks at Hell in a Cell, he will knock Sheamus out and become the new World Heavyweight Champion. After witnessing Big Show’s victory over Randy Orton, World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus comments, saying that Big Show is the “biggest challenge” of his career, but he is looking forward to it. Sheamus continues, saying that there is no “bigger fight” than facing Big Show and, if he manages to defeat Big Show at Hell in a Cell, then that win will be that much “sweeter”! Can Sheamus conquer Big Show to retain the World Heavyweight Title or will “The World’s Largest Athlete” regain the title that he lost in 45 seconds last December? Then it was time for the main event of WWE Main Event as Kofi Kingston went one-on-one with the third generation Superstar, Michael McGillicutty. In the end, it was Kofi Kingston hitting the S.O.S. on Michael McGillicutty. After the match, Intercontinental Champion The Miz enters the ring to confront Kofi Kingston and, after Kofi said his match was “fun”, Miz says that he is the most “must-see champion” in the WWE. Miz continues, saying that Kofi will never be at his “level”, but Kofi responds by saying that, maybe, he just wants Miz to think that he is not a threat. Kofi then challenges The Miz to face him one-on-one and Miz says that he will face Kofi, anytime and anyplace. Kofi then names the place and the time, saying he wants to face Miz for the Intercontinental Title on next week’s Main Event! Kofi then says that he was a far better Intercontinental Champion than The Miz will ever be. The Miz then thinks it over, agreeing to defend the Intercontinental Title against Kofi and Kofi says that it “sounds like fun”. Miz then tries to cheap shot Kofi, but Kofi dodges the shot before laying Miz out with Trouble in Paradise! Will Kofi Kingston take the Intercontinental Title from The Miz on next week’s WWE Main Event? What did you think of this week’s WWE Main Event? Post your comments in the box below.
