WWE Spoilers: Another Rumored Match for WrestleMania 29

PWInsider.com is reporting that the current plan is to have Rey Mysterio face Sin Cara at WrestleMania 29, which is why the WWE has put them together as a tag team recently. They plan to keep Rey and Sin Cara a successful tag team for quite some time, to the point of possibly winning the WWE Tag Team Titles, before having either Rey or Sin Cara turn on the other, setting up the WrestleMania match. There’s no word on if Rey or Sin Cara will be turning heel or if it will be akin to the Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero match at WrestleMania 21 where both of them were faces, as well as both being tag team champions. There are rumors going around that the WWE will have The Prime Time Players win the WWE Tag Team Titles from R-Truth & Kofi Kingston to set up for Rey and Sin Cara winning the tag titles.

WWE originally intended to do the Sin Cara vs. Rey Mysterio match at this year’s WrestleMania, but both of them were out of action at the time, so the match was put off until next year’s WrestleMania. WWE also intended to set a Guinness World Record for the most people wearing masks at the same time by handing Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio masks out to the fans in attendance for them to wear during the match. Word is that the WWE still plans to set this record at WrestleMania 29.

The Sin Cara/Rey Mysterio team is also one of convenience as it not only builds to the WrestleMania match, but it’s being reported that Mysterio is still not 100% recovered from the knee injury that took him out of action last year, not to mention the concussion he suffered at SummerSlam. By having Mysterio team with Sin Cara, it allows Cara to work the majority of their matches and have Rey work the finish of the match, which has been the case over the last couple of weeks as Rey’s most notable offense has been hitting the 619 and doing his Bullet Splash at the end of the match. The team also works to help get the Rey Mysterio fan base to support Sin Cara as the WWE believes that Rey’s time as an active competitor is nearing its end, while Sin Cara has more of a future in the company.
