WWE: More Bad News for the Divas DivisionBy Cassidy| August 16, 2012 Wrestling News The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Executive Vice President of Talent and Events for the WWE, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, is looking to focus even more on the WWE’s tag team division and put the Divas division on the back burner even more than it already is. With Triple H gaining more executive power within the WWE on a regular basis, especially with the John Laurinaitis era of Talent Relations ending. Triple H has reportedly never been a fan of women’s wrestling, a point of view that WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon has adopted as of late as the Chairman is high on putting Divas in on-screen roles as authority figures. This is evidenced by Vince making the call to put Eve in as the Executive Administrator to John Laurinaitis not too long ago and the more recent naming of AJ Lee as the General Manager of RAW. The internal belief is that the Divas being put in non-competitive roles are the ones that have a future in the WWE. Statistics have shown that the WWE have been signing more men to developmental deals than women as of late and the recent releases of NXT Rookie Divas Sofia Cortez (Ivelisse Velez) and Caylee Turner (Christina Crawford), not to mention the release of Kharma, is seen as just the beginning of severe cutbacks for the Divas division as Triple H’s vision becomes a reality.
