WWE: Details on Rey Mysterio’s Drug Test FailureBy Cassidy| May 3, 2012 Wrestling News The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that, while Rey Mysterio tested positive for amphetamines on February 13, he was not suspended until April 26. The reason for the delay is that, when Rey was informed of his drug test failure, he did not have any idea on what would have caused him to test positive, so the WWE had Mysterio submit all the medications he was taking. After WWE physicians examined the medications that Rey had been taking, the general belief is that Mysterio was taking a dietary supplement to try and lose some weight and the dietary supplement contained a small amount of amphetamines. As previously reported, there are several people within the WWE who are very unhappy with Rey’s drug test failure and subsequent 60-day suspension because Rey has been getting paid to sit at home, waiting to be medically cleared to compete again following his latest knee injury. Some people within the WWE are reportedly so frustrated with Mysterio that they are against any kind of push for Rey when he does return. In addition, the creative team were told, in March, to not bother coming up with any angles or storylines for Mysterio, but no reasons were given at the time as only a small group of people actually knew that Rey had failed his drug test. The former WWE Champion will not be allowed to return until after June 26 and, with the two month suspension keeping him off of the road completely until that date, Rey is estimated to miss out on around $166,667 in salary. While there are several people angry with Rey Mysterio, there have been no discussions of releasing Mysterio from his contract. What do you think of the details for Rey Mysterio’s drug test failure?
