WWE: Possible Top Sponsorship Loss for the WWEBy Cassidy| May 19, 2012 Wrestling News WrestleScoop.com is reporting that a bill has passed in the House Appropriations Committee that will ban the U.S. Military from sponsoring sports events, including wrestling. This will definitely jeopardize one of the WWE’s top sponsors, the National Guard, which has been a top sponsor for the WWE for several years. As of this report, WWE.com has removed the National Guard banner from their website, though a link to the Guard’s website still remains at the bottom of the homepage. A similar bill failed to make it through the process last year and there is a chance that this bill may be shot down as the bill has to be passed by the House of Representatives before the Senate decides to enact the bill, making it a law. What do you think of the government trying to stop the military from sponsoring sporting events? Post your comments in the box below.
