WWE: Big Changes Coming to NXTBy Cassidy| May 12, 2012 Wrestling News PWInsider.com is reporting that, starting this coming Thursday, May 17, the WWE.com & YouTube exclusive show, WWE NXT, will be undergoing a major change as, starting on that date, NXT will be taped alongside the FCW TV show in the new home of FCW on the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. This change is being made to NXT so that it will be much easier to integrate new FCW talent into NXT. It’s also likely that a new name will be given to the NXT show, which was eluded to on this week’s episode of the show as Curt Hawkins mentioned NXT no longer existing. WWE’s hope is that the University feel to the show will result in better crowd reactions (current episodes of NXT see little to no reaction from the crowd, who are there to attend a SmackDown taping). Currently, WWE NXT tapes alongside SmackDown on the road on Tuesday nights with NXT being put online on Wednesdays, so the new Thursday taping date suggests that NXT may be airing on a new date or WWE may be taping the show almost a week before it airs. There is no word on if the new NXT will be aired online or if this will lead to NXT airing online as well as the FCW show being available worldwide for the first time ever (as it stands, the FCW show is only available to Florida residents). Considering that NXT features main roster Superstars like Tyson Kidd, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks, Michael McGillicutty, Alicia Fox, Kaitlyn, Matt Striker, Josh Mathews, and William Regal, among others, it will be interesting to see if their involvement will be scrapped from the show or if the Superstars will be shipped back and forth from the location of RAW & SmackDown to Florida or if they will only work either a main show or NXT that week. It will also be interesting to see what becomes of WWE Superstars (as this week’s Superstars and NXT featured some of the same talent competing). The NXT/FCW tapings will be free to attend for all Full Sail University students and staff who bring a valid University ID. UPDATE: Full Sail University has confirmed that NXT is moving to their campus as Full Sail issued a statement that hypes the big move, promoting an appearance by the man who has majorly been responsible for the change, Triple H, and two title matches as Sheamus will face Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Title and R-Truth & Kofi Kingston will defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against former champions Primo & Epico.
