WWE WrestleMania: Favourite moments from WWE SuperstarsBy Josh Modaberi| April 1, 2012 WWE Blogs The grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania is almost here and there are a host of great matches on the card featuring the likes of John Cena, The Rock, The Undertaker, CM Punk, Triple H, Chris Jericho and more. WrestleMania is sure to throw up may few great moments, but over the past couple of months I’ve caught up with a few former and present WWE stars to get their favourite WrestleMania moments. Any of the three Rock and Austin matches I can watch over and over again. Hogan and Rocky was good as well, but that I don’t think I can watch that on repeat. I’m pretty sure I can watch Austin vs. Rock anytime and not get tired of it. As a performer, I won the WWE Hardcore Title at WrestleMania 18, so that was cool. It made me the only person to ever hold both the WCW and WWE Hardcore Championships. But as fan, it was seeing Randy “Macho Man” Savage win his first WWF Championship at WrestleMania 4. Vince McMahon calls them Wrestlemania moments and I call them Hulkamania moments. You have to really look at the big pivotal point of Wrestlemania III with Andre, and I thought it couldn’t get any bigger than that. But then we move down the road to Wrestlemania X8, where Vince McMahon had me as the worst bad guy in the world against The Rock, but we went out there and out of nowhere the fans made the biggest statement they’ve ever made. They told the promoter Vince McMahon, you can’t tell us who to love, you can’t tell us who to boo and cheer and they booed The Rock out of the building and I was there thinking ‘Oh my gosh, this is such an important moment’ because the fans finally stood up and said we like this guy, you can’t tell us to hate Hulk Hogan. My favorite Mania moment being WrestleMania 2 with my dad [British Bulldog] and Dynamite Kid winning the tag team championships. I have to say my match with Mickie James at WrestleMania, for a women’s match in Chicago was pretty cool. I was the good guy but Mickie at the time was into some girl-on-girl action so the crowd were up for that. I was getting booed but I loved it, the crowed were just off the chart during our match, they were invested in our feud and wanted to know what was going to happen next. To have that was very special and was probably one of my best moments for the fact it felt like the womens’s division had made it on the biggest stage. I don’t really have a top moment, I just love the whole spectacle. I go back to the stuff I loved in late eighties with Mr. T, Roddy Piper, The Cowboy and Hulk Hogan, I loved all of that it was just awesome stuff. Being at WrestleMania 18 one of my favourite matches to watch the crowd just be totally electric was Rock and Hogan, that was pretty intense with the crowd and how much they hated Rocky because they loved Hogan so much, they don’t really hate Rock they just loved Hulk. I’ve really only had one WrestleMania highlight that I can remember and that was the match with Edge. That is based on the idea that i had not had a WrestleMania moment which was true until then. The dumpster match with Terry Funk was a good match but we didn’t put enough time in for it to be considered a classic. I see the Big Show is kind of taking the same tact, and it’s fine because it works. Big Shows record is so bad at WrestleMania he lost to me. Being called the anti-Undertaker is one of those things you have to cut close to home, but in my case it inspired me to have a really good WrestleMania moment and I hope it does the same thing for Big Show. I think every WrestleMania is a special event, it’s like FA Cup final day or SuperBowl day, it’s just larger than life. There is always a big party atmosphere and to be a part of it is amazing, better than just sitting back and watching it, seeing everything come together from one WrestleMania to the next, all the story-lines coming together at one point.
