WWE: Randy Orton Pulled from The Marine 3By Cassidy| April 3, 2012 Wrestling News After WWE.com revealed a couple of weeks ago that Randy Orton would star in the third Marine movie, titled “The Marine 3: Homefront”, WrestleScoop.com is reporting that the WWE has pulled Orton from the movie due to several real-life Marines complaining because Orton deserted them when he was in the United States Marine Corps before Orton started his WWE career. Orton was the recipient of a bad conduct discharge in 1999 after going AWOL, twice, and disobeying an order from a commanding officer. Orton was also court-martialed and served 38 days in a military prison. A representative from the WWE told TMZ, “Despite Randy’s popularity, the fact that he was dishonorably discharged from the USMC [United States Marine Corps] made it inappropriate for him to be cast in this film.” Cpl. Mike Vinn, who was in a unit with Orton, was irate when he found out that Orton was going to be starring in the movie and, before WWE pulled Orton from the movie, Vinn commented, “I am disgusted that his face and the word, ‘Marine’, are being used next to each other, real or fake, because of the fact that he quit on us, the country, and the United States Marine Corps. [Orton] in the role of a Marine is a disgrace to those that have worn and are wearing that uniform.” What do you think of Randy Orton getting pulled from The Marine 3 for his past with the Marines?
