WWE: Update on Contract Negotiations with EdgeBy Cassidy| April 24, 2012 Wrestling News PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE brought Edge to Detroit, MI (the site of last night’s RAW) to try and negotiate a new contract with the Hall of Famer, whose contract is set to expire this coming Monday on April 30. The word is that WWE was trying to low-ball Edge on the new contract as “The Rated-R Superstar” was offered significantly less than other contracted legends, most notably Shawn Michaels, who makes $300,000 a year under his current contract, and Mick Foley, who makes a little less than Michaels. There is no word on how the negotiations went last night and if Edge is any closer to staying with the WWE. As previously reported, WWE wants to keep Edge under contract to prevent him from going to any rival wrestling promotions and, basically, forcing Edge to have to go through the WWE to do any outside projects.
