WWE: Sting Admits Almost Joining WWE Last Year

In a promotional appearance for TNA on 97.9/105.5 KISS FM’s Big Poppa in the Morning radio show, former WCW and TNA champion Sting commented that he almost joined the WWE last year, saying that he wishes he would have been in at least one WrestleMania as the legend stated that, “I wish I had done one of those [WrestleMania]. I’ve had great conversations with him [Vince McMahon] and been real close on three or four different occasions.

When asked who he would most want to face at WrestleMania, Sting said he would want to face The Undertaker at WWE’s premiere. In the vignettes leading up to Undertaker’s return last year, the speculation was that the vignettes might have been for a Sting debut. When asked when he was last asked to join the WWE, Sting said, “Last year. It was very, very close.”
