After finding out their WrestleMania opponents in Chris Jericho and Sheamus, respectively, the two top Superstars in the WWE would face off two nights after surviving the Elimination Chamber as WWE Champion CM Punk would go one-on-one with World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in a Champion vs. Champion Match. Match Results Sheamus def. The Miz by pin following the Celtic Cross. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger (with Vickie Guerrero) def. R-Truth & Kofi Kingston by Dolph Ziggler pinning Kofi Kingston following the Zig Zag. The Great Khali def. Drew McIntyre by pin following the Punjabi Plunge. Big Show and Mark Henry fight to a No Contest after Big Show knocks out Mark Henry and exits the ring. David Otunga def. Ezekiel Jackson by pin following the Harvard Slam. Champion vs. Champion: CM Punk and Daniel Bryan fight to a No Contest when both men pin each other. Detailed Results Two nights after successfully defending the World Heavyweight Title inside the Elimination Chamber before finding out that he would be defending the title against Sheamus at WrestleMania, the show kicks off with World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and his girlfriend, A.J. Bryan says that no one believed that he would be the World Heavyweight Champion and, not only is he the champion, but he will be defending the title at WrestleMania. Bryan continues that Santino Marella was trying to channel Rocky Balboa, but he is the real “Rocky story”. Bryan then says his “moment was ruined” by WWE Elimination Chamber by Sheamus before saying that he is going to ruin Sheamus’ moment at WrestleMania by defeating “The Great White” on April 1, adding that he will also be victorious against WWE Champion CM Punk in the main event. Daniel Bryan is then interrupted by his former NXT mentor, The Miz, who said that he always knew that Bryan would become a World Champion. Miz continues that he is not out there to steal Bryan’s spotlight, he is out there to say “congratulations” on being in the main event of WrestleMania, just like he was last year. Miz then says that after Bryan “embarrasses” Sheamus at WrestleMania, then they should form a tag team someday. The Miz is then interrupted by “The Great White” Sheamus, who takes the microphone out of Miz’s hand before congratulating Bryan on being a “hypocrite”. Sheamus then says that Bryan is a “coward” who hides behind A.J. and, when WrestleMania is over, everyone will be saying that Daniel Bryan got exactly what he “deserved”. The Miz then tells Sheamus that Sheamus needs to be taken down a peg or two, but Sheamus tells The Miz that Miz should let the guys who have a match at WrestleMania talk. However, when Sheamus turns to face Daniel Bryan, Bryan delivers a slap to Sheamus’ face! Bryan then makes a quick escape while The Miz tries to get the jump on Sheamus, but Sheamus fights back, tossing Miz to the outside. Moments after their confrontation at the start of the show, the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble Match, Sheamus, went one-on-one with The Miz in the opening match of the night. In the end, it was Sheamus hitting the Celtic Cross on The Miz en route to picking up the win. Backstage, Interim RAW General Manager John Laurinaitis and Laurinaitis’ legal counsel, David Otunga, interrupt a tender moment between SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long and Aksana. Long tells Laurinaitis that Laurinaitis’ GM is in the men’s room, but Otunga argues that Long’s office should be in a dumpster because the SmackDown GM will be “down in the dumps” after he beats Ezekiel Jackson again. The new tag team of R-Truth & Kofi Kingston were in action on Super SmackDown Live as Truth & Kofi faced “The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler & United States Champion Jack Swagger, with Vickie Guerrero in their corner. In the end, it was a thumb to the eye by Dolph Ziggler that allowed Dolph to hit the Zig Zag on Kofi Kingston en route to picking up the win for his team. In his continuing quest to impress Theodore Long and keep his job, Drew McIntyre was not happy to have to go one-on-one with The Great Khali. Khali makes quick work of McIntyre, hitting the Punjabi Plunge en route to picking up the dominant win. After being knocked out by an angry Big Show on last week’s SmackDown, “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry would go one-on-one with “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show on Super SmackDown Live. During the match, Big Show was ready to put the finishing touches on Mark Henry, but Cody Rhodes would come out to show an embarrassing video of Big Show from WrestleMania 21 in 2005 when Show was in a Sumo Match against Akebono. The video distracts Show long enough for Mark Henry to hit a scoop slam and a big splash, but Show was able to kick out as Show knocks Henry out in the middle of the ring before Big Show walks out of the ring in pursuit of Rhodes! In a rematch from RAW, Ezekiel Jackson would go one-on-one with the legal counsel for John Laurinaitis, David Otunga. In the end, it was David Otunga hitting the Harvard Slam on Ezekiel Jackson en route to picking up the win. Then it was time for the main event as, two nights after both men survived their respective Elimination Chamber Matches to remain champion, WWE Champion CM Punk went one-on-one with World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in a Champion vs. Champion match. During the match, Daniel Bryan would try to walk out on the match, but Sheamus came out, throwing Bryan back into the ring. CM Punk then delivers a kick to the head of Bryan en route to picking up the win. However, Interim RAW General Manager John Laurinaitis comes out and orders the match to continue! Shortly after this, Daniel Bryan gets a roll-up on CM Punk and grabs the rope for the illegal advantage to pick up the win. However, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long comes out and, much like Laurinaitis did, Long orders the match to continue! Later in the match, Daniel Bryan hits a superplex on CM Punk, but both men manage to hook the legs of the other as they pin each other simultaneously! This leads to a heated argument between John Laurinaitis and Theodore Long over who won the match with the argument nearly getting physical as both GM’s remove their jackets with Long throwing his in the face of Laurinaitis before Long storms out of the ring! What will happen next in this war between General Managers that is creating a rift in the WWE? What did you think of Super SmackDown Live? Post your comments in the box below.
