WWE Spoilers: Update on Zack Ryder’s Storyline Injury

After being chokeslammed through the stage by Kane on Monday’s RAW, the initial storyline report on the injuries suffered by Zack Ryder was that he has a “broken back”, but in an update on WWE.com, Ryder has been diagnosed with a “herniated disc” in his back. WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann stated that Ryder will need physical rehabilitation and will not require surgery.

While Ryder’s injury is part of a storyline, SmackDown Superstar Randy Orton suffered a legitimate herniated disc in his back last month and has just returned from injury, so it is a possibility that the WWE may follow the same guidelines (though many within the WWE think that Orton is coming back too soon).
