The third annual WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs came to you, live on pay-per-view, from the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD. On one of the most dangerous pay-per-views of the year, the WWE Championship will be defended, for the first time ever, in a Triple Threat TLC Match as CM Punk defends the WWE Title against former WWE Champion The Miz and the man he took the title from at Survivor Series, Alberto Del Rio, where tables, ladders, and chairs are legal with the first Superstar who climbs the ladder and retrieves the WWE Title belt becoming the WWE Champion. After brutally severing their ties as friends last month with a vicious pair of sledgehammer shots, Kevin Nash may pay the price at WWE TLC as Nash faces his former best friend, “The Game” Triple H in the first ever Sledgehammer Ladder Match where the first Superstar to climb a ladder and retrieve the sledgehammer hanging high above the ring can legally use it in the match, which must end via pinfall or submission. After putting such Superstars as Kane, Big Show, and The Great Khali in his Hall of Pain using a steel chair, the foreign object may lead to the downfall of Mark Henry as Henry defends the World Heavyweight Title against “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show in a Chairs Match, where chairs are legal and the match must end via pinfall or submission. After weeks of claiming to be inside the head of Randy Orton, Wade Barrett would face “The Viper” Randy Orton in a Tables Match, where the only way to win is to put your opponent through a table. After attacking the retired six-time World Champion on more than one occasion, the unbalanced Cody Rhodes defended the Intercontinental Title against a man Rhodes refers to as a “lowly commentator” in Booker T. After weeks of getting the better of Dolph Ziggler and getting countless signatures on an online petition, Zack Ryder finally gets his shot at the United States Title as “The Long Island Iced Z” challenges Dolph Ziggler for the United States Title. Detailed Results The final WWE pay-per-view of 2011 kicks off with gold on the line as Dolph Ziggler, with Vickie Guerrero in his corner, defends the United States Title against “The Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder. During the match, Zack Ryder hits the Broski Boot on Dolph Ziggler in the corner, but after Ryder goes for the pin, Vickie Guerrero puts the foot of Dolph on the bottom rope. Unfortunately for Vickie and Dolph, the referee sees Vickie’s involvement and ejects Vickie from ringside. In the end, it was Zack Ryder hitting the Rough Ryder Leg Lariat en route to pinning Dolph Ziggler to achieve his dream of becoming the new United States Champion! Backstage, Alicia Fox is helping Booker T get pumped for his Intercontinental Title match against Cody Rhodes, when Booker is attacked by Rhodes, who pummels the legend until referees are able to break up the fight. The WWE Tag Team Titles were on the line at WWE TLC as Air Boom, Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston, would defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against the hot new tag team who have defeated the WWE Tag Team Champions multiple times this past week, Primo & Epico, with Rosa Mendes in their corner. In the end, it was Kofi Kingston hitting Trouble in Paradise on Primo en route to successfully retaining the WWE Tag Team Titles for himself and Evan Bourne. Then it was time for the Tables Match as “The Viper” Randy Orton went one-on-one with Wade Barrett with the only way to win is to put your opponent through a table. After getting busted open just above his right eye following a table connecting to his face, Wade Barrett would lead Randy Orton to the stage, but after both men failed to put the other through a table, the action returns to ringside before eventually returning to the ring. Later on in the match, Wade Barrett hits a spinning side slam on Randy Orton before slamming the table on top of Orton. Barrett then sets the table up near the corner before laying a prone Orton face-down on the table, but just as Barrett comes off of the top rope, Orton catches Barrett in mid-air with the RKO, driving Barrett through the table to pick up the win! Backstage, Jack Swagger comes to SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long to complain about the chair shot he received from Mark Henry on SmackDown, but after insulting Sheamus, the GM announces that Swagger will face “The Great White” later in the night. After being slapped across the face by Kelly Kelly at the Slammy Awards, “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix defended the Divas Title against former champion Kelly Kelly. In the end, it was Beth Phoenix hitting an electric chair drop on Kelly Kelly en route to retaining the Divas Title. Despite the attack by Cody Rhodes earlier in the night, a fired up Booker T was ready for action at WWE TLC, but when Booker was making his entrance, Rhodes would attack from behind once again, assaulting the legend and sending Booker T into the steel barricade and continuing to stomp away at the six-time World Champion before referees pull Rhodes off Booker! After repeated assaults, will the match between Cody Rhodes and Booker T ever take place? In an intense rivalry between former friends, it was then times for the Sledgehammer Ladder Match as “The Game” Triple H went one-on-one with the man who nearly ended his career with a sledgehammer assault last month, Kevin Nash, with a sledgehammer hanging high above the ring with the first man to climb a ladder and successfully retrieve the weapon being allowed to legally use it in the match. During the match, Triple H and Kevin Nash exchange blows on the outside of the ring before the action returns to the ring where “The Game” methodically pinpoints the knee of Nash, even using a ladder for a modified Figure-4 Leg Lock! Despite the injured knee, Nash musters enough energy to send Triple H into a ladder and to the outside before bringing “The Game” back into the ring and dropping Triple H on a ladder with a sidewalk slam. Back on the outside of the ring, Nash takes apart the announce table, looking to deliver the Jackknife Powerbomb to Triple H through the table, but Triple H counters, sending Nash over the announce table before heading back into the ring. Triple H sets the ladder up in the middle of the ring to try and make the first attempt and climbing it, but Nash pulls Triple H down, laying Triple H out before setting the ladder up in the corner and retrieving a table from under the ring. Nash then sets the table up in the ring, once again trying for the Jackknife Powerbomb on Triple H, but “The Game” counters again, this time sending Nash into the ladder. After a ladder shot to the hip on Nash, Nash is knocked out of the ring, providing Triple H the opportunity to climb to try and retrieve the sledgehammer. However, Nash recovers and joins Triple H at the top of the ladder, but Triple H grabs hold of the hanging sledgehammer, driving it into the skull of Nash twice in a row, with the second shot knocking Nash off the top of the ladder and through a table. Triple H then unhooks the sledgehammer and climbs down from the ring before “The Game” uses his signature weapon to further maim the knee of Kevin Nash. As Nash struggles to get to his feet, Triple H hoists Nash up and delivers the Pedigree, but “The Game” was not through as Triple H picks up the sledgehammer and, despite Nash throwing up the sign for The Clique, Triple H drives the sledgehammer into the skull of Nash, finally pinning Nash en route to picking up the win! After the match, EMT’s rushed out and loads Kevin Nash onto a stretcher, wheeling Nash out of the arena. After insulting Sheamus backstage, “The All-American American” Jack Swagger, with Vickie Guerrero in his corner, was ordered to go one-on-one with “The Great White” Sheamus. In the end, it was Sheamus blasting Jack Swagger with the Brogue Kick en route to picking up the win. Then it was time for the Chairs Match for the World Heavyweight Championship as “The World’s Strongest Champion” Mark Henry defends the World Heavyweight Title against “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show in a match where steel chairs are legal. As soon as the match begins, Big Show exits the ring, hurling a countless number of chairs into the ring before both men grab a chair, looking ready to go to war. However, Mark Henry leaves the ring, seemingly trying to leave with his title, but Big Show catches up to Henry getting some shots in on Henry. The champion fights back, however, as Mark Henry delivers a chair shot to the back of Big Show before using the chair to smash the right hand of Big Show. Henry continues the assault inside the ring, using a steel chair to smash the right hand of Big Show for a second time. Show manages to fight back, but when he tries for a chokeslam, he is unable to use his hand, allowing Henry to fight out of it. Henry then winds up for another chair shot on Big Show, but Show somehow manages to use his bad hand to deliver the W.M.D. to the champion en route to pinning Mark Henry to become the new World Heavyweight Champion! However, Big Show’s celebration was short-lived as the now former champion, Mark Henry, makes his way to his feet, delivering a chair shot to the back of the new champion before planting Big Show skull-first onto a pile of steel chairs. With Big Show completely out of it, “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Daniel Bryan smells his opportunity as Bryan rushes out, cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank contract to shock the world and become the new World Heavyweight Champion! As Big Show looks on in disbelief in the ring, Daniel Bryan takes his new title and rubs it in the face of his biggest critic, Michael Cole, before the new World Heavyweight Champion celebrates with the fans in Baltimore! Backstage, Josh Mathews interviews Booker T as Booker reveals that, despite the two assaults by Cody Rhodes, he is going to compete! Booker adds that, while he did not ask for the fight, but he is damn sure going to finish it. After repeated assaults over recent weeks and earlier in the night, the six-time World Champion Booker T returns to the ring to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title. Despite an impressive effort by Booker T, Booker was still reeling from the two earlier attacks and, after delivering the Beautiful Nightmare Kick twice to Booker, Rhodes was able to pin the legend to retain the Intercontinental Title. Then it was time for the main event as, for the first time ever, CM Punk defends the WWE Championship against The Miz and “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio in a Triple Threat TLC Match, with the first Superstar to climb a ladder and retrieve the WWE Title belt will be the WWE Champion. It did not take long for the tables, ladders, and chairs to come into play as CM Punk gets a hold of a steel chair, repeatedly waffling The Miz with chair shots to the back before Punk delivers a running knee to Miz, sending him over the ringside barricade. Punk then brings a ladder into the ring and looks to be within reaching distance of the WWE Title belt, but Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, jumps in the ring, somehow managing to handcuff Punk to the ladder! However, CM Punk is able to break one of the ladder supports to break free before using the steel chain handcuffs to deliver a shot to the mid-section of Del Rio. After disposing of Del Rio, Punk is pummeled with a ladder by The Miz before Miz ascends the ladder, getting his hands on the title belt. Punk recovers and takes Miz off of the ladder before both men find themselves fighting on the top rope, but as Punk looks to superplex Miz to the outside and through a table, Del Rio delivers an enziguiri to Punk, who falls from the top rope and through a table on the outside of the ring! Alberto Del Rio then sets his sights on The Miz as Del Rio attacks Miz in the entranceway, choking Miz with a ladder before using the ladder for a steel-enhanced cross armbreaker on Miz. Del Rio then grabs two steel chairs, placing one on the mid-section of Punk and delivering a chair shot with the other one. Del Rio then uses a steel chair to aid him in a cross armbreaker on Punk, as well! After brutalizing CM Punk and The Miz, Alberto Del Rio ascends the ladder in the ring, but both Punk and Miz crawl in the ring, temporarily working together to tip the ladder over. Both with bad arms, both Punk and Miz exchange shots in the ring before taking each other out with a clothesline to the other. With everyone down, Ricardo Rodriguez ascends the ladder, trying to get the title belt, but Punk and Miz tip the ladder over, sending Rodriguz off the top of the ladder, to the outside, and through a table! Punk and Miz then resume their battle with Miz sending Punk shoulder-first into the steel ring post before Miz takes advantage of the handcuffs still on the wrist of Punk, handcuffing the WWE Champion to the middle turnbuckle! Miz then taunts Punk, staying out of arm’s reach of Punk, but Punk uses a kick to reach Miz, kicking The Miz in the skull before doing everything he can to try and free himself. Meanwhile, Del Rio gets back in the ring as Miz and Del Rio set up their own ladders. Somehow, CM Punk is able to break the second turnbuckle, sending the second rope flying into the ring before he rushes to ascend the ladders, taking Miz out first before delivering a kick to the head of Del Rio, causing Del Rio to fall to the mat! Just as Punk looks to be within reach of the WWE Title belt, The Miz pulls Punk from the ladder before scrambling to the top, but Punk pulls Miz down, delivering the GTS to Miz before finally climbing the ladder and retrieving the WWE Title belt to successfully retain the WWE Championship in a hellacious Triple Threat TLC Match!
