WWE Hell in a Cell 2011 PreviewBy Chris Blackwood| October 2, 2011 WWE Blogs Hell . Cell. Two words that you’re probably more than familiar with (especially if you watched this week’s Raw). Satan’s Playground. Constructed by the devil himself from 5 tonnes of steel. Some of my favourite moments have come from Hell in a Cell matches, so will they be added to in a few hours time? With only a two week build, surely we can’t be expecting too much of Hell in a Cell…can we? You wouldn’t think so, but we’ve already been proven wrong on more than one occasion this year. Add to that the fact that most of these matches are simply continuations of stories I’ve already been enjoying for the last month or so, and I think we could be on to another winner here. Lets take a look… Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara I’ve really enjoyed this “who is the real Sin Cara” angle they’ve been running, for what it’s worth. It’s not even been that confusing, but it’s been kinda cool how they’ve worked it in so well. The Battle Royale spot on Monday’s Raw just helped to drive the crux of the story home. As long as there are two Caras, they will continue to get in each other’s way, confusing referees and commentary teams with their switching and swapping shenanigans. So one of them has to go. What I’m most interested in with this is what’s going to happen to the losing Sin Cara? I’m guessing Hunico (muscly Cara) is gonna be the guy who loses out in the end, so will he get a new mask and a new name? Will he be unmasked? Will that happen at the end of this match? Lots of questions surround how they’re going to blow off this “feud”, and I’m excited to see the outcome. Let’s move on to my astoundingly accurate prediction for this one, eh? Who I want to win: Sin Cara. Who I think will win: I’m pretty certain Sin Cara is gonna be victorious in this one. (I know it’s a cop out, but I’m gonna be right regardless, so I don’t care! 😛 Diva’s Championship Match Kelly Kelly © vs. Beth Phoenix 3rd PPV in a row, and I’m still pulling for Beth to cream Kelly Kelly. In fact I’m still fairly shocked that Beth didn’t win in her HOME FREAKIN’ TOWN. But whatever, I digress. So Beth has to win this, right? Surely there’s only so long Kelly’s gonna be able to get away with the quick roll ups? Surely they’re not gonna keep holding back on putting the title round the waist of one of the Delicious Divas of Doom? I’ve had a weird feeling about this particular feud for a little while now. I can’t tell if it’s me hating on Kelly Kelly, but I’ve got a feeling there may be a heel turn in order here? Like, each time she beats Beth, she gets just a bit smugger. Again, that may be me picking up on something that isn’t there, but it seems to me like they may possibly do the old double switcheroo and turn Eve and Kelly heel, while Beth and Nattie become the faces of the situation? Let’s get some predictions made shall we? Who I want to win: For the 3rd consecutive time, I’m gonna plump for the Glamazon. It has to happen sooner or later, right? Who I think will win: I so want to be right about Kelly turning heel, and I think if she wins here and carries on being smug about it, that could well be on the cards. I think Kelly’s gonna steal it again, maybe with some help from Eve this time. Sheamus vs. Christian Oh Sheamus, you big ginger beast. I’ve been totally enjoying Sheamus’ work lately. He’s a face, but he hasn’t relented on the beatings he dishes out, he’s just focused them on heels instead. I always thought the best characters were the ones who didn’t necessarily change their behaviour when they turned, they just went from picking on heels to faces, or vice-versa. Anyways, I’m looking forward to this. I think Sheamus is currently 2nd behind Mark Henry on my current list of “guys who I like to watch just beat other guys up”, and it looks like that’s what the Great White’s gonna do here to Christian. How awesome is “The Great White” as a nickname? It kinda reminds me of Mark Henry being “The Silverback” a few years ago. But yeah, I’m rambling again, let’s move on. Can anyone realistically see Christian winning this? Isn’t his whole shtick right now him asking for matches and then not being able to pull out the win? Looking at the basics of this angle, the whole thing is built to put Sheamus over as the babyface, so I’m expecting a good hard fought match, but there’s really only ever going to be one winner in my eyes. Who I want to win: Sheamus. He needs the win to keep babyface momentum (and to move on to Mark Henry surely, but more on that later). Who I think will win: The Great White. Unless this feud is getting extended, then I can’t see it going down any other way. Hell in a Cell Match for the World Heavyweight Championship Mark Henry © vs. Randy Orton So at Night of Champions we officially saw Mark Henry become “The Baddest Man on the Planet” I don’t care what you think about me saying that. Do you know why? Because you’re all just haters, and Mark Henry has no time for haters. He’s too busy eating bitches. I know I predicted Mark Henry winning (yay, score one to me!), but I was still shocked and pleasantly surprised when it happened. In fact, it’s not so much that Henry won, it’s more the manner in which he won that was so impressive. To put Henry over Orton so strongly suggests that the WWE are looking to go the whole way with this Henry push. Not only do we get Mark Henry with the title, we get Mark Henry with the title for a (hopefully) lengthy, dominant reign. You only need to look to the decimation of the Great Khali this past week to show that Mark Henry’s monster run has no intention of slowing down, even now he’s champion. A more interesting question is what’s next for Orton? I’m obviously assuming that Randy Orton doesn’t win in the Cell, but if he doesn’t, what then? Who would be next for Orton? What is there for him to do? Cody Rhodes seems awful p*ssed about the 9 staples in his head. Could we be looking at a Rhodes push to try and elevate him from the midcard? He’s the Intercontinental Champion, so it’s the next logical step? I think it’d be a good thing. Get Orton away from the title scene for a couple of months, give the guy a little break and allow him to work with a young hungry heel, and let them try to build something to elevate the guy up towards Orton’s level. While Mark Henry continues to eat people for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Who I want to win: Mark Henry. Good Lord, who would’ve thought that I’d be pulling for Mark Henry. Again. That is how much this man has impressed me in the last few months. Who I think will win: There just isn’t going to be any stopping Mark Henry anytime soon. Many will try, and no doubt many will fail. It’s about time we had a completely dominant monster run for a few months, and right now Mark Henry is that monster. Triple Threat Hell in a Cell for the Undisputed WWE Championship John Cena © vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk Ooooh. First ever Triple Threat in a Cell. Interesting. Initially I was worried about this. Cena won the title for a record tenth time, and the crowd…well, as usual the crowd is split entirely down the usual Cena line. The ladies and kids loved it, the rest of us…well, it wasn’t our preferred outcome, let’s say that. Then this week, Del Rio happened. Scaredy Cat ADR is no more, this Del Rio took it to Cena AND Punk inside a cell, with a chair, and looked fabulous while doing it. This Del Rio looked like a legitimate threat, hungry, fearless, and ready to do what needs to be done to regain what he had a tiny taste of after Summerslam. But let’s not forget about the “Best in the World”, my favourite, CM Punk. For all of Del Rio’s fire and rage shown on Monday, he did lose to Punk in Monday’s main event. And Cena STILL hasn’t managed to beat Punk cleanly on PPV. Looking at it on paper, the odds could well be in Punk’s favour? Could “The Voice of the Voiceless” survive the Cell to once again become WWE Champion? But hold up just one second…who’s to say it’s all going to go down so easily? We’ve seen John Laurinaitis get himself some “legal aid” in the form of David Otunga this week, so is it possible that after some legal shenanigans someone’s “gon’ get got”, in an “awesome” way if you catch my drift… Let’s get some predictions made on this sucker. Who I want to win: I’ll give you 3 guesses. CM Punk!! Just because I’m that biased where he’s concerned. Who I think will win: That’s a good question. There’s a solid case to be made for all 3 guys, but I’ve got to go for Alberto Del Rio. Cena’s fine with or without the title, and Punk will probably still be tied into the storyline with Triple H and Johnny Ace for the foreseeable future, so I’m reckoning Del Rio is most likely to walk out with the gold. Overall I don’t think there’s a “bad” match throughout this card, with all of them having the potential to be at least “good” if not “great”. The Triple Threat in a Cell intrigues me as to how it’ll work out spot-wise, and I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of flippy craziness comes out of Cara vs. Cara. This should be a decent watch.
