WWE Monday Night RAW SuperShow September 26, 2011 ResultsBy Cassidy| September 26, 2011 WWE Raw Alberto Del Rio prepares for hell. Six nights before WWE Hell in a Cell, the 957th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW was a RAW SuperShow and it came to you, live, from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO. After the abrupt firings of both The Miz and R-Truth last week leading to the two former Superstars having to be literally carried out of the arena, the Chief Operating Officer of the WWE, Triple H, seems to be rapidly losing control of the WWE. While the COO is going through hell trying to maintain order in the WWE, RAW’s top three Superstars prepare to enter Hell in a Cell where there will be anything but order as, just six nights before they step into Hell in a Cell to challenge ten-time champion, John Cena, for the WWE Championship in the first ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match, “The Cult of Personality” CM Punk goes one-on-one with the Superstar who cashed in Money-in-the-Bank at SummerSlam to take the WWE Title away from him, “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio. Match Results Intercontinental Championship: 10-Man Battle Royal: Cody Rhodes (c) (with Christian) last eliminates Sheamus to retain. Natalya & Beth Phoenix def. Detailed Results With the infamous Hell in a Cell hanging high above the ring, the RAW SuperShow kicks off with the Chief Operating Officer of the WWE, Triple H. The COO starts by explaining why he fired The Miz & R-Truth last week, saying that it was not because of his “ego”. Triple H then presents a WWE.com exclusive video from after Night of Champions, where Miz & Truth assaulted two referees before laying out both CM Punk and Triple H during the main event, but after their actions, Miz & Truth threaten what the “consequences” would be if they don’t get what they want. Triple H then states that The Miz and R-Truth are fired because of their attacks on WWE referees and their “weak apology” last week, adding that they were “full of crap”. The COO then admits that he “used” The Miz and R-Truth to get “one more main event” out of them as he planned to fire them all along! Triple H then reveals that World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry is being fined $250,000 for “The World’s Strongest Champion” for putting his hands on Jim Ross and putting Jerry “The King” Lawler through the announce table last week. The COO then addresses the WWE locker room by stating that “no one man is bigger than the WWE”, adding that he will always “do what is right for the WWE.” Triple H is then interrupted by Vickie Guerrero and her “client”, United States Champion Dolph Ziggler, who asks the COO what Triple H is going to do for him because his jaw was fractured by an “actor”, Hugh Jackman, last week. Dolph continues that he can still compete, but he cannot even eat solid food before asking what Triple H is going to do about. The COO responds by saying that he does not know what the United States Champion want him to do because Dolph “picked a fight” with Hugh Jackman and got punched in the jaw. Triple H continues that he could get some “security” for Dolph Ziggler for when The Muppets appear on RAW next month. This brings out Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, who says that it’s all a “big joke” to Triple H before saying that the COO must have been “rolling on the floor” when Randy Orton bashed his skull with a ring bell, resulting in Rhodes requiring nine staples in the side of his head. Rhodes then asks Triple H why no action was taken against Randy Orton. The COO responds by reminding Cody Rhodes of what happened a couple of years ago when Rhodes assisted Randy Orton in handcuffing Triple H to the bottom rope while Orton assaulted his wife, but he did something about it by assaulting Randy Orton on his front lawn. Triple H then tells the Intercontinental Champion to “man up” before Christian comes out. Christian states that, what happened to him on SmackDown was much “worse” than what happened to them because Sheamus put his hands on him, throwing him back into the ring and costing him the World Heavyweight Title. Triple H reminds Christian that it was a Lumberjack Match and those were part of the rules of the match. Christian then asks how Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes would like to join him and “file the biggest lawsuit in the history of the WWE”, but tells the COO that he could call it off if Triple H granted him “one more match.” Triple H responds by giving Christian “one more match” against Sheamus at WWE Hell in a Cell, adding that Christian will get “one more match” against Randy Orton on SmackDown and “one more match” against WWE Champion John Cena in the non-title main event of the RAW SuperShow. Triple H then tells Dolph Ziggler that he is going to do the “right thing” before announcing that Dolph Ziggler will defend the United States Title against the man who defeated him last week in “The Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder, adding that he is hoping for a new United States Champion. Triple H then turns his attention to Cody Rhodes, saying that, since the Intercontinental Champion has a “zipper” on the side of his head, he will give Rhodes the night off. However, the Intercontinental Champion comments that Triple H should take the night off as well as he exits the ring, resulting in the COO calling the Intercontinental Champion back into the ring. Rhodes then expands on his comment by calling Triple H a “poor excuse” for a COO and Triple H pretends to hear that Cody Rhodes want to defend the Intercontinental Title on the RAW SuperShow. Rhodes then tells Triple H to “resign” and Triple H pretends to hear that Rhodes would rather have his title defense be a Triple Threat Match, but as Rhodes continues to protest, the COO ups the match to a Fatal 4-Way Match before announcing that he is going to go to the back and the first nine guys he sees will challenge Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title in a 10-Man Over-The-Top Rope Battle Royal! Per the orders of WWE COO Triple H, the opening match of the night was for the Intercontinental Championship as Cody Rhodes defended against “The Great White” Sheamus, Ezekiel Jackson, Drew McIntyre, Ted DiBiase, John Morrison, Alex Riley, Justin Gabriel, Sin Cara, and “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Daniel Bryan. The first elimination of the match saw the powerhouse Ezekiel Jackson hurling Drew McIntyre out of the match, but shortly after this, the second Sin Cara rushes out to pull the first Sin Cara out of the ring as the second masked man replaces the first in the match. However, the victim of the whole Sin Cara scandal, Daniel Bryan, settles the issue by eliminating Sin Cara from the match. The first Sin Cara then attacks the second on the outside of the ring before the first Cara tries to re-enter the match, but is told by officials that, despite the wrong Sin Cara being in the match, they are both eliminated! Sheamus then scores two eliminations as “The Great White” sends both Alex Riley and Justin Gabriel packing from the match. Not to be outdone, Ezekiel Jackson matches Sheamus’ double elimination by eliminating John Morrison and Daniel Bryan from the match, leaving only Ezekiel, Sheamus, Ted DiBiase, and the champion, Cody Rhodes, in the match. During a powerhouse battle between Sheamus and Ezekiel Jackson, Ted DiBiase tried to get the jump on Sheamus, but in doing so, DiBiase took his eyes off of Cody Rhodes, who eliminates his rival. Cody Rhodes then manages to dodge an oncoming Ezekiel Jackson as Rhodes low-bridges “Big Zeke” over the top rope, eliminating Ezekiel from the match, leaving only Cody Rhodes and Sheamus left in the match. Sheamus looked to have the Intercontinental Title within his grasp as he set up for the Celtic Cross, but Sheamus’ WWE Hell in a Cell opponent, Christian, temporarily distracts “The Great White”. Despite this, Sheamus maintains the advantage, keeping an eye on both men as Sheamus narrowly misses the Brogue Kick on Cody Rhodes, but manages to keep himself from elimination. Rhodes then resorts to using his protective mask, but Sheamus blocks the shot. This provides the perfect opportunity for Christian, who causes a timely distraction, allowing Cody Rhodes to hit Sheamus in the face with the protective mask, eliminating Sheamus from the match and successfully retaining the Intercontinental Title! As if costing Sheamus the Intercontinental Title was not enough, Christian attacks Sheamus after the match, shoving Sheamus shoulder-first into the ring post. In a rematch from last week’s RAW SuperShow, Divas Champion Kelly Kelly teams with Eve to face Natalya & Beth Phoenix in Divas tag action. In the end, it was Natalya & Beth Phoenix avenging their loss from last week as Beth Phoenix plants Kelly Kelly with the Glam Slam en route to picking up the win for her team. After finding out that he will have to pay a $250,000 fine for his attack on Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler last week, World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry was scheduled to go one-on-one with “The Punjabi Nightmare” The Great Khali, but before the match can begin, Mark Henry blasts Khali in the back of the neck with the World Heavyweight Title belt before planting the 350 lbs. giant with the World’s Strongest Slam! What awaits Randy Orton in six nights when he challenges Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Title inside the demonic Hell in a Cell? Six nights before he defends the WWE Title against both CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio in the first ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match, WWE Champion John Cena appears on the RAW SuperShow. “The Champ” admits that the WWE Title is surrounded with “controversy” over recent months, saying that the Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match is necessary to end the controversy. Cena continues that the Hell in a Cell is a “brutal problem solver” and, in six nights, three men will “live in hell and make history”. Cena then proclaims that, this Sunday, there is “no way in hell” that he will lose the WWE Title. With both of the challengers for the WWE Title this Sunday inside Hell in a Cell, CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio, guests on commentary, WWE Champion John Cena goes one-on-one with Christian in a non-title match. During the match, John Cena and Christian battle on the outside with both men inadvertently knocking CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio’s headsets off. However, Del Rio takes advantage by delivering a cheap shot to Punk and, as Cena prepares for the Attitude Adjustment on Christian in the ring, Del Rio rushes in and hits an enziguiri on the WWE Champion before quickly escaping CM Punk. After Hugh Jackman assisted in his win over Dolph Ziggler last week, “The Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder challenged Dolph Ziggler, with Vickie Guerrero and Jack Swagger in his corner, for the United States Championship. During the match, Vickie Guerrero gets on the ring apron, distracting the referee long enough for Jack Swagger to hang Zack Ryder up on the top rope, allowing Dolph Ziggler to hit the Zig Zag on Ryder en route to retaining the United States Title. After the match, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger start a beat down on Zack Ryder, but WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom rush out as Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston send Dolph and Swagger packing. This brings out SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, who announces that he is giving Vickie Guerrero three minutes to find a Superstar to team with Dolph & Swagger to face Ryder and Air Boom in a 6-Man Tag Match or it will be a 3-on-2 Handicap Match! With Vickie Guerrero, apparently, unable to find a tag team partner for Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, the United States Champion and “The All-American American” faced WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom and “The Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. During the match, Vickie Guerrero leads a monster of a man to the ring as the former member of The New Nexus, Mason Ryan marches to the ring to make the match a 6-Man Tag match! However, once Mason Ryan got the tag into the match, the big man turns on his tag partners, tossing Jack Swagger to the outside before planting Dolph Ziggler with a Black Hole Slam. This allows Zack Ryder to hit the Rough Ryder Leg Lariat on Dolph Ziggler en route to pinning the United States Champion for the second week in a row. It was announced on the RAW SuperShow that, after two unsuccessful title matches, Beth Phoenix will get another shot at the Divas Title as “The Glamazon” will challenge Kelly Kelly for the title this Sunday at WWE Hell in a Cell. Backstage, the Harvard Law graduate, David Otunga, is talking with Christian, United States Champion Dolph Ziggler, Vickie Guerrero, and Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes as Otunga tells the group that they all need to stick together and do something about the unsafe working environment Triple H has put them in as the COO. What does this new alliance have in mind? Then it was time for the main event as, six nights before they both challenge John Cena in a Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Title, “The Voice of the Voiceless” CM Punk went one-on-one with “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio with “The Champ” himself, John Cena, a guest on commentary. During the match on the outside, CM Punk would intentionally throw Alberto Del Rio into John Cena before the match continues. In the end, it was CM Punk avoiding the cross armbreaker of Alberto Del Rio and delivering a kick to the head of “The Mexican Aristocrat” en route to picking up the win. However, as soon as the match was over, the Hell in a Cell lowered from the ceiling, but as this took place, John Cena cornered Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, leading to Rodriguez being locked inside the Cell with John Cena and CM Punk with Punk delivering the GTS to Rodriguez, followed by Cena delivering the Attitude Adjustment. CM Punk then tried to catch John Cena off guard with the GTS, but the WWE Champion fought out before attempting the Attitude Adjustment with Punk escaping. However, Alberto Del Rio then re-enters the ring wielding a steel chair as Del Rio delivers chair shots to the backs of his Hell in a Cell opponents. Del Rio then sets the steel chair up in the corner before sending Punk crashing into the steel followed by another chair shot to the back of Cena and another to the back of Punk. Has Alberto Del Rio proven that he is ready for Hell in a Cell this Sunday? Who will walk out of Hell in a Cell as the WWE Champion? What did you think of this week’s RAW SuperShow?
