WWE: Live SmackDown Special Airing on August 30By Cassidy| August 19, 2011 Wrestling News Syfy has announced that, on Tuesday, August 30 at 8/7c, the network will air a live special edition of WWE SmackDown entitled, “SuperSmackDown Live” and it will emanate from the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, KS. SmackDown is typically taped on a Tuesday to air that Friday. A replay of this special will air in SmackDown’s normal time slot on Friday night at 8/7c. The last time that SmackDown aired live was December 21 of last year when SmackDown aired on the USA Network on the Tuesday before Christmas. The last time that a live SmackDown aired on Syfy was when the show debuted on the network on October 1 of last year. SuperSmackDown Live will be airing just a couple of weeks before the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks and the impromptu live SmackDown that WWE hosted just two nights later on September 13.
